These steps are definitely more complex in their design and engineering than the previous steps. They are 100% made in the USA (could have been cheaper if they were designed and manufactured in China I'm sure), come with a Lifetime warranty, and do not have the "swing out" issue that made the Morryde steps a problem while in storage or parked close to another RV, Semi, or vehicle. Plus they do not block the entrance while up. Plus they are significantly lighter and easier for my wife to deploy. The Morryde steps were great and still are for many. I'm my case, these new Glowsteps solve a problem and are totally worth the price to me.
Paul Terry - Ok 👌 the other steps - if he didn’t have room to swing them down he wasn’t able to gain access to the interior of his trailer because he can’t climb over them. With these steps being pulled out and not having to be dropped down he still has axis to his interior if there isn’t room- ok 👌- he can still climb inside his fifth wheel. Now do you get it LMAO 😂 The fifth wheel next to him sometimes parts really close to his thus he wasn’t able to pull his steps down. Now he doesn’t need to be concerned 😟 if the fifth wheel next to his parking to close.
I was thinking the same. As others have said the only real benefit is they don't block your access if you need to climb into the fifth wheel. The use of the steps could still be blocked but you could still get in.
I installed Torklifts for the same reason after also considering the MorRyde unit. Last year the person in the storage bay next to me parked his rig right on the line, I couldn’t deploy the Torklifts fully, but far enough to still get safely in ours. The Torklifts also have three settings that can be clicked into before pulling them out fully that help when in a limited distance deployment. Nice review and comparison!
My RV came with the swing down type similar to the one you removed on the front door. Thought it would be a great change from the fold out ones on my previous rv, wrong! This type requires that it rests on the ground. Too high and the door hits, too low and it stresses the hinge area. I have to adjust it every time I move to a new area. Hate it.
As an rv technician I can tell you that you don't need two set of hands. lay on your back with the steps on your chest, lift them into place and get the bolts started one side at a time.
These Torklift Revolution RV Steps are GREAT. A very awesome worthwhile upgrade. We got our steps from Torklift International a little over a year ago, and they're the best steps of all that we have seen, great for humans and canines. Thanks Torklift International for such a great product!
Awesome video. You have turned into my "go to" for information on RV upgrades. I have already upgraded the the suspension, tires, power tongue jack, an toilet, on my travel trailer based on your recommendations. Keep the videos coming!
R&R on under door steps is tough--heavy. I used my Harbor Freight hydraulic red rolling work stool to act as a lift and secure system to get the stairbox into place. Necessity (working solo) is the mother of invention.
Good info to have. What is the "throw/arch" of the Morryde when deployed? 3+ feet? One aspect of the Morryde I have thought about; security. You'd need a rope, but when boondocking WalMart or in any other case, you could pull the stairs up inside for the night time. It appears there is room to access both the door latch handle and the lever to deploy the steps from inside. And pretty quickly too. Or is that NOT the case? Kind of picky, but I would like to have operation of the steps from the inside.... Thank you!
I installed these steps for the same reason as you. We love them. better for us, better for the dogs. I park my RV relatively close to my pole barn and the step above steps wouldn't have worked, these have been great for us.
I considered installing solid steps on my 2018 Coachmen Chaparral 370FL but I have a similar issue as you do except I am currently storing my camper inside a single stall storage unit. I have just enough room to get the camper inside the unit! With only a couple feet on each side I would not be able to put the step down and access the main part of the camper if I had the solid step. I barely have enough room to open the side door to access the auto level system when I connect and disconnect from my truck. I also have about a foot of clearance at the front of the camper to close the roll up door to the unit with it only inches from the back wall (thank god for backup cameras!). My camper came with the aluminum fold out steps rather than the steel ones you had. Thanks for your reviews.
I put the step above on my last toy hauler for my mother to make it easier for her to access when we go camping. They are a great step system. We sold the trailer last spring and bought a brand new one with the same stock style step as yours. We have yet to replace them. They are only a 3 step but still are fairly sturdy since they are still new, but I would love to get a 4 step design. This may be just what I'm looking for. Thx for this video.
Nice vid! one small correction...retract is to bring back or return. Deploy is to open or extend in this situation. Sorry, it's the former teacher in me coming out :)
Great Video BTBRV! Something different for sure. I installed the Morryde Step Above 3 step after watching your initial Morryde video install and added the Morryde handrail & the storage box that replaces the factory steps location. This setup has been working great for me for about a year now. Best Wishes!
Great info and video! My Montana 3750 FL will soon have the Moryde steps installed. We will living in our Montana before July 1st. We will not have the too close neighbor problem.
Other than mud not getting in coach, I don’t see the advantage. the new step appears to extend about the same difference outward as the previous one did.
Question: if you bypassed the latching system on the moride steps, would they lay completely over onto the interior floor of your rv? I’m asking because I believe the moride steps would be perfect for the rear ramp/patio on a toy hauler as long as one never uses it as a ramp.
Seems like they still need lots of room to deploy? Not to mention a lot of linkage that will be sensitive to debris build up... Did you consider the lippert alumi treads?
I have the Step Above with Assist steps and can't lower them when the rig is in the storage unit. After seeing your video I am seriously considering replacing them with the Revolution Arise stairs. How do the Revolution steps compare to the Step Above in regard to stability when using them. This is my only concern...besides the price (which I will pay to be able to have access the rig inside the storage unit. Thanks for your reply.
I can really see why you switched your steps. I actually like your new ones much better. I wondered about a similar issue when you installed the drop down steps.
Awesome steps . Just wish they weren't so expensive ! , I Recently went to my local RV show , a product I seen that alot of trailers are coming with now is the Nautilus retractable shower door by Stoett Industries. It looked and functioned really nice. I think this would be great product for you to review.
What brand/model were the stairs you removed? We don’t have a space issue and I really like how simplistic they are. I don’t recall seeing a video on them. *I found the video
I hsve 2 questions. How much difference in the amount they extend out. They look about the same. What are you going to do about the six hole in your floor.
Video request. A complete video showing the rig being hitched, towed, (see the new halo cam at work), setup at campground (see the new steps at work) and a complete tour of all the upgrades on your there! I know you have done some videos of this in small segments. Would love to see a long video that demonstrates all of it.
Great video for product demonstration, But they protrude about the same as the other ones did. I think they are much better than the previous folder in stairs or the factory ones.
I think there is no difference how far the new steps sit away from the trailer, but the clearance it would require to swing the old steps over and down. Great design. I'd better hope to remember to fold them up b4 pulling the trailer away.
In situations like your storage area, cant you just keep the steps deployed? That would prevent someone parking too close on that side. If I were shopping for a new product to replace my factory steps, these look great and would likely be the choice to go for though.
Can't, because it would position the steps on their side of the storage, at risk of both damage and being stuck with them down if I need to take the RV out, since I wouldn't be able to pull them up.
You nailed it. I wish manufacturers would stop putting the step above on. For those who want them, it's an easy DIY upgrade. For those like me who really want a Rockwood but can't get in it when in storage, it makes an otherwise amazing trailer a "don't buy."
Factory fold-out steps appear easier to deploy for the physically challenged and can be partially deployed if need be. Factory steps are also a single-handed operation. I'm not seeing the advantage of these over your factory steps. Can carpet be installed on these to prevent slip and fall?
Fortunately my new coachman is coming with the Lippert solidsteps, unfortunately I’m planning on building a deck for my seasonal site so these might come in a little bit more handy
Funny i just installed these a few weeks ago. It was the only option for me as I needed 5 steps. No one makes a 5 step model but Glow Step. My wife and I love the them. I would like to try the handrail but it looks a little gangly. What do you think about the handrail system. As others has mentioned, they are pricey. $680 for a 5 step model.
Too bad it is so $$$$. Older people could use an extra step or 2. But fixed income can't afford. I find a tall table next to door is helpful. I set what I'm carrying on it to climb up.
Seems like you could keep both, just put the Step above into the storage compartment when you've got the RV parked at storage but then you can reinstall it before getting out on the road to go on vacation.
Some years ago I made almost exactly the same steps for my slide on camper I too used aluminium and they worked great for the time that I owned the camper!!
IWhat did you really gain (other than a free set of stairs)? You still have the same issues, namely opening your doors and deploying your steps! Theses look to take up just as much room as the others. I don’t get it!
These steps are the Apple/Bose/Mercedes/KitchenAid of RV steps. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives that do the job, but these seem to be very well engineered from top-line materials. When Big Guy got on them, I was impressed. Will I be buying some? Not likely. Our 5W is stationary, with mobile home steps/platform, and a connecting bridge bolted to the OE stair mount. When we actually go somewhere, I just unbolt the bridge, and use the original steps while on the road.
I don't get why you would want to put dirty steps inside your camper. I understand they are more stable and wide, but what do you do when they are full of mud when you need to leave on a wet day etc? I've never had to clean my exterior steps when leaving a campsite.
At over $600 at Amazon, too expensive. Did not care for your previous step because dirty steps end up inside your coach, especially on a rainy day. Also, no access inside coach unless you lower the step assembly.
I have the same OEM steps on my travel trailer as you do. Here in Ohio finding a level site can be difficult. Sometimes we the steps are too high and we would have to use a temporary step to make up the difference. Are these steps adjustable for various heights?
These would be great on my 5th wheel toy hauler. The garage side door has the standard flexible alum step..... not a fan of those. I love the morryde steps on the front door but they wouldn’t work on the rear door with my Can Am X3 parked in there.
I have the Step Above and love them I do have a problem like you where I can't get into my 5th wheel because I have a RV carport with walls, so I have to pull the camper out to get into it. Nice steps but too much money for my wallet. great video.
If stability is what people are after, then these are "slightly" better than the stock steps but nowhere near as stable as the Moride Step Above or Lippert Solid steps. These are made to flex for storage and pivots will wear over a season of use, just like the factory steps. I'm not discounting them as a replacement but, if you require stable steps, then something with a rigid side is a must. (there is always going to be tradeoff but people need to be aware of the flex points on these - they do flex once they've been used)
I made a whole video on why I hate those steps that fold into the rv. Now that I’ve flipped my axle for more ground height they’re even worse. I’ve got some replacements ordered already.
I like the concept but I think my wife would difficulty expand them and retracting them. What I really like is you are not don't have to clean off before retracting so you don't dump dirt inside your trailer.
I've seen and used these on the Lance RV's and they are very stable. But a lot of pinch points and unless I've missed something, still very close to the same footprint. To fully extend them and someone is crowding that side of the RV, which is often the case in storage, you still have to move your RV. I'll stay with my rock solid, even on unstable ground... MORryde steps.
I think the problem isn’t that they’re were too long once deployed, it’s that the Morryde steps swing out and could hit the side wall of the neighbouring RV.
How many steps was the factory steps? I just bought a new travel trailer that sets up high and it has 2 steps. Would like to have something simpler for my son to get in and out.
I'm my case, these new Glowsteps solve a problem and are totally worth the price to me.
What are you doing with the other steps
$650 for steps? They're cool but not THAT cool.
I like this system better because if the steps are wet you aren't throwing that water inside.
They look like they stick out as far as your other steps did.
They can, but because they don't swing down, I don't risk not being able to deploy them
Exactly, how is this less inconvenient then the previous steps?
Paul Terry - Ok 👌 the other steps - if he didn’t have room to swing them down he wasn’t able to gain access to the interior of his trailer because he can’t climb over them. With these steps being pulled out and not having to be dropped down he still has axis to his interior if there isn’t room- ok 👌- he can still climb inside his fifth wheel. Now he doesn’t need to be concerned 😟 if the fifth wheel next to his parking to close.
I'd just keep them deployed in situations like that. That is, unless they are easy to steal or something.
I was thinking the same. As others have said the only real benefit is they don't block your access if you need to climb into the fifth wheel. The use of the steps could still be blocked but you could still get in.

Yes, I have that issue in a trailer I just bought. I don't think I have a cut-out for these accordion ones...
As an rv technician I can tell you that you don't need two set of hands. lay on your back with the steps on your chest, lift them into place and get the bolts started one side at a time.

I'd just use a step stool or short ladder with these
I'm still going to get the moride step for my application, however I did enjoy seeing other options!
I installed these steps for the same reason as you. We love them. better for us, better for the dogs. I park my RV relatively close to my pole barn and the step above steps wouldn't have worked, these have been great for us.
These are excellent and a definate improvement on the stock steps. Have them on my RV. Not easy to install by myself but worth the effort.
Like the new steps have had a similar prob with our rv steps.. nice take on a solution for that problem.
I considered installing solid steps on my 2018 Coachmen Chaparral 370FL but I have a similar issue as you do except I am currently storing my camper inside a single stall storage unit. Stock steps are working just fine. I replace things when they break. Not before.
Well, they made my wife feel unsafe because of how bouncy they were. Happy wife....
This reminds me of my traveling Chef buddy and his RV... Same theory... Then, 2 a.m. I get the call, and he's in the middle of nowhere. Lol
Had the same problem,- keeped the stock steps.
Traded in old wife, got a new younger model,
who is very bouncy
& I am happy too,!!!
I would drill a little hole to that pin, and put a cotter pin in it as it might rattle loose as you drive down the road
I love these steps. they are going on my next Rv.
How did you repair holes in floor. From old steps
I put the step above on my last toy hauler for my mother to make it easier for her to access when we go camping. They are a great step system. Big shout out to you Big Truck another good product on display and I definitely think I'm going to get a set. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the review, I was just looking at those to put on a truck camper I am thinking about getting. Wasn't sure how the worked.

Always the first kid on the block to get the new toys!
What did you do to the holes in your floor after removing the other steps?
Covered with the original threshold
Duh! LOL. I have those same steps and have they same problem in my storage lot. Thanks
I saw these online and never bought them because they looked like they would flex a lot. After seeing this I think I'm going to pick one up.
Looks like the same length as the others were already??
Interesting. If you don't have the closeness issue, I wonder if it's easier to use than you other new step?
They are both easy if there's room for the Morryde.
Great info and video! My Montana 3750 FL will soon have the Moryde steps installed. We will living in our Montana before July 1st. We will not have the too close neighbor problem.
The Torklift Glowstep looks great and seems easy to install. Thank you.

Ive been eyeing these since the Hershey show. I cant wait to do this upgrade with a shoe cleaner that you get with them.
One thing you didn't mention. The Torklift steps are designed to handle up to 300 pounds. The MORyde is designed for up to 500 pounds.
I can really see why you switched your steps. I actually like your new ones much better. I wondered about a similar issue when you installed the drop down steps.
I've seen a few people with these. Now that I see how simple it is. I'm adding it to the list
Just a caution.. Aluminum steps when wet == slippery. Amazon sells "anti slip" tape that has a sand paper like surface that helps.
Just use skate board grip tape...found at any vans store
Awesome steps . Just wish they weren't so expensive ! , I Recently went to my local RV show , a product I seen that alot of trailers are coming with now is the Nautilus retractable shower door by Stoett Industries. 2:15 thought I was about to see you lol started to call my wife into the room! Haha
FYI, the new MorRyde steps come with a pin that you can slide out to pull the steps out if you're in tight spaces.
Just wondering how many times does your fifth wheel goes out in a year?
I think there is no difference how far the new steps sit away from the trailer, but the clearance it would require to swing the old steps over and down. Great design. I'd better hope to remember to fold them up b4 pulling the trailer away.
Great video. Nice to see a different setup from the mor-ride
Do you still have the MoRyde steps? Selling them?
I have exactly the same issue too. I have to put my trailer all the way to the right side of my space other wise I have to pull it out. What a pain!!!
Ha ha I doubt my wife will let me spend another $650 after shelling out $40k for the trailer! She’ll probably say ,” live with it”!
Great vidoe, have you considered chasing the neighbors off the storage lot?
You nailed it. I wish manufacturers would stop putting the step above on. For those who want them, it's an easy DIY upgrade. For those like me who really want a Rockwood but can't get in it when in storage, it makes an otherwise amazing trailer a "don't buy."
Factory fold-out steps appear easier to deploy for the physically challenged and can be partially deployed if need be. Factory steps are also a single-handed operation. I'm not seeing the advantage of these over your factory steps. Can carpet be installed on these to prevent slip and fall?
Yes and they extend out further and are far more stable. Much better for physically challenged in my opinion
How wide are the old steps and are you selling them
How much difference in depth would you say these are compared to Morryde steps?
None when deployed. They just don't swing out like the Morryde (a good thing)
Have you ever thought about installing the electric steps like some of the Class C's have?
Can these be put on motorhomes?
Fortunately my new coachman is coming with the Lippert solidsteps, unfortunately I’m planning on building a deck for my seasonal site so these might come in a little bit more handy
I have these steps for my fifth wheel and they're great.
Funny i just installed these a few weeks ago. It was the only option for me as I needed 5 steps. No one makes a 5 step model but Glow Step. My wife and I love the them. Seems like you could keep both, just put the Step above into the storage compartment when you've got the RV parked at storage but then you can reinstall it before getting out on the road to go on vacation.
Do the bottom feet adjust for the unlevel campsites?
Yes sir
My factor steps works on uneven ground. How does the steps work on uneven ground since they have feet that must be on the ground?
Some years ago I made almost exactly the same steps for my slide on camper I too used aluminium and they worked great for the time that I owned the camper!!
I’ve had these on 2 trailers they are fantastic love love love them
After seeing these steps earlier I was wondering when someone was going to have this issue.
I don't get why you would want to put dirty steps inside your camper. I understand they are more stable and wide, but what do you do when they are full of mud when you need to leave on a wet day etc? I've never had to clean my exterior steps when leaving a campsite.
How do you fold them up or open them when you are inside the camper?
You don't. Unless you fold them up first and have a step stool with a rope
Not bad, definitely sounds more stable than the factory steps. Unrelated question--how well insulated is that Chaparral 360?
Decently well, but the heater works great
You looking to unload the old moyrde setup? What model number did you get?
Why do some trucks have a jerking feeling when towing?
How far out to they extend
At over $600 at Amazon, too expensive. Did not care for your previous step because dirty steps end up inside your coach, especially on a rainy day. Also, no access inside coach unless you lower the step assembly.
Very interesting. Those stairs would also come in handy if you are in a very un-level site.
I have the same OEM steps on my travel trailer as you do. Here in Ohio finding a level site can be difficult. Sometimes we the steps are too high and we would have to use a temporary step to make up the difference. Are these steps adjustable for various heights?
They sure are
Pretty cool product 😎
how many money trees do you have?
These would be great on my 5th wheel toy hauler. The garage side door has the standard flexible alum step..... not a fan of those. I love the morryde steps on the front door but they wouldn’t work on the rear door with my Can Am X3 parked in there.
I have the Step Above and love them I do have a problem like you where I can't get into my 5th wheel because I have a RV carport with walls, so I have to pull the camper out to get into it. Nice steps but too much money for my wallet. great video.
Which of the 3 part the lightest ones

How's it work in extreme cold weather?
You know, I was going to buy the step above like you did, but after seeing this.....I actually like it better!!!
What is the distance between the Old steps and the new steps? Because it appeared to me to be about the same distance out from your RV.

How many steps was the factory steps? I just bought a new travel trailer that sets up high and it has 2 steps. Would like to have something simpler for my son to get in and out.
