Oh. My. God! I thought this movie dropped off the face of the earth! I had it on tape (taped off the tv) as a kid and watched it all the time! Thank you for uploading this!
I also had this on VHS taped off the tv but I lost it and the quality wasn't as good anyway. I can't find a copy on VHS or DVD that will play in the UK. As far as I know, it isn't on DVD and the VHS from America won't play on VHS players in England. I'm so glad I can watch it on here.
You are the fucking Legend. You have no fucking idea how long I've been looking for this. Okay this is how it goes. I don't remember exactly how old I was but I do remember I was with my god brother and my little sister my mother's friend was babysitting us she was making us fishstick why? Because my mother was at the hospital giving birth to my little brother so was my father he was there as well. So we are eating our fish sticks and just looking through the TV and this movie came on and I actually pressed record on my VHS player and I recorded it. And I used to watch it over and over again I'm 38 years old now. And I've been trying to find this movie forever. You have no idea what a nostalgic feeling this is for me right now. This brings back so many memories you are a legend
My student LOVE when I read the "Fudge Series" by Judy Blume. When we have finished Fudge-A-Mania we watch this. They just love it. The lines are so accurate to the book. I appreciate you uploading this. Its a good version of it. Very hard to find. Thank you
Dude, I was obsessed with the books as a kid and read them on repeat, and I am SHOCKED that there's a movie I never knew about. I know what I'm doing with my evening.
OH MY DOGS THANK YOU!! I have been searching for this for years and years and years and years. I recorded this off TV as a kid and watched the tape so much I wore it out. I would go to sleep to it most nights, and ended up losing a little chunk to a sleepy remote fumble which led to a few minutes of news radio patched in at the beginning. Wow. Thank you. Such FUN!
I was a teenager when this was on, but I really enjoyed it, as I had loved the Fudge books when I was younger, and at the time this movie was on, I babysat a little boy who reminded me a lot of the little boy who plays Fudge in this movie and following series.
It's so great to see this back here. This brings back so many childhood memories! Growing up, Judy Blume was a summer staple in my home. Thank you so much!
This book was the first Novel I ever read in the 2nd grade major memory now I'm 37 Lol life is a trip I will always have a special connection with this story
Ramona books were by Beverly Cleary, not Judy Blume. But Ramona is equally hilarious as Fudge. There was a Ramona TV show, Sarah Polley was Ramona. Wow, that makes me feel old! Love both authors equally, they were both a part of my love for reading ❤
Omgoodness I’ve literally wanted to watch this movie since I was 12 and we had lost the tape I had recorded it on!!!! I haven’t been able to find this ever and just hoped someone would eventually put it here! Thank you! Thank you so so much!!!
Thankyou I’ve been waiting ! I check RUclips every year. One of my favorite movies as a kid and previously it wasn’t available anywhere thanks so much ! I actually bought this movie as a kid for the first time from Toys R US! If anyone remembers those.
I watched this so much as a toddler it drove my dad crazy and he rage busted the vhs right in front of me as I cried. My first traumatic experience that I still remember as an adult :)
I’ve tried to remember this my whole life lol. I loved it as a kid but could never remember what it was. I thought it was Bobby’s World because they both rode a tricycle. Finally just found it today after a quarter century lol
I had a recording of this when I was a kid and I watched it so many times. Even skipping through the footage at random parts to refresh my memory, I'm still quoting parts of the dialogue and I haven't seen it since the late 90s.
I love how movies are different from the book, this was just as good as it was written on paper! Out of curiosity today, I looked up "Are there any movies based off the fudge books" and sure enough, I found this shortly after a little digging. So glad you made this!! Edit: This movie really got me thinking, it makes you think some of these names are real people!!!!! I even looked up "Big Apfel" and it mentioned this move, so he's not really a real person but it's impressive that they actually got me to look him up
WOW, the last time I watched this was when I rented the video from the library SOMETIME between 1996 and 1999, I don't even remember exactly when! 'Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing' and 'Superfudge' were my first chapter books next to the Ramona books, and Peter Hatcher was my first favorite boy character so every boy character I come across in any form has to be like him for me to like them:):) I really liked how this movie and then the show changed things around from the books to make it their own but it still worked well, it made sense, and it especially had all of the heart and fun--it reminds me exactly of what the 1990 Babysitters Club video series and the Ramona series did so I enjoy them JUST as much as the books if not even more:):) This one, though, Carol and Jan Brady AND the dad from 'A Christmas Story', plus it was directed by Bob Clark!! The range of that man, it always did surprise me;)
@@markasflood8196 Hear it from Jake Richardson (Peter Hatcher) himself why it ended as it did along with his experience ruclips.net/video/nzUlE1G615A/видео.html
I liked the Fudge books as a kid and "Fudge-a-mania" was my favorite of the series. I read the series a few years ago as an adult and realized just how well written the books are. Every character is very believable, with realistic strengths and flaws. I also like how the stories of supporting characters continue even when they're not on page. Jimmy Fargo's storyline, in particular how it relates to his parents' separation in "Superfudge" and his father getting engaged again in "Double Fudge" is very well done. Much like how Sheila got her own spin-off novel, I always felt that Jimmy should have gotten one too.
This is awesome 👏🏻 👏🏻 Thank you for posting it! Very true to the books! But I was a little disappointed seeing this when I was younger and realizing Peter and fudge’s baby sister wasn’t in the movie lol I was hesitant to click on this video at first…but I’m glad I did….cuz the whole movie is actually up here! 😊👏🏻❤️
Fudge premiered on ABC's Saturday morning program block on January 14, 1995, one week after the pilot movie aired, and ran nine episodes for its first season, and aired its second season with 15 episodes from August to December 1995, with reruns continuing until September 1996. In September 1997, reruns of the show reappeared onto the CBS Saturday morning lineup as part of Think CBS Kids block, where it remained until December of that year, when it was bumped in favor of CBS Storybreak reruns midseason.
Ah yes! Thank you for returning some of my childhood to me. Back in the ‘90s my “Izzy” was a blonde waitress at the nearby Alley Oops ‘50s-style diner😂
Fudge is played by the same boy who was Frasier’s son in the one Christmas episode where Frasier goes to the mall for the first time to buy his son a gift 💝
They instead adapted some elements/chapters from that book into the "Fudge" TV series. This includes episodes like "Fudge Meets Ratface" and "Uncle Feather," and even things like Daniel Manheim attending Fudge's birthday party.
Hope that Hollywood doesn’t find this movie they might do a remake/prequel to this classic. But good movie. Also I remember watching this when I was young
I guess it was difficult to find a set of twins to share a role of Peter and Fudge’s younger sister Tootsie due to those child labor laws in place when it comes to casting infants in live action works.
I like how Buzzy Senior is played by the guy that played Old Man Parker in "A Christmas Story." In fact, this even had the same director as "A Christmas Story": Bob Clark!
"Fizz fizz, plop plop, no more gourmet slop!" They reversed the onomatopoeia from the classic Alka-Seltzer jingle: "Plop plop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is!" Pretty clever given that mid-20th century "gourmet" meals like Jean keeps proposing are likely to give one indigestion 😂

My grandma had a VHS recording of this that I watched over and over as a kid. 90s commercials and everything
On ABC
funnily my 1st grade class actually showed us a TV recording of this film instead of the actual commercial VHS release which was very odd.

Thank you for this, been looking for this movie for years. The nostalgia of this movie makes it worth watching
Haven't seen this since I was a kid, have to say for a cheesy 90s TV movie.. the acting is pretty solid, even from the young actors.
Maybe it helps they got the director of "A Christmas Story" for this.
Every time I am on the water I always want to yell “PERSON OVERBOARD” but no one ever understands why 😭
That part kills me , you can stop pointing now!
I think I'm gonna listen to these again my child hood
I grew up with my own Fudge, my little sister! This is one of my earliest book series I ever read😊
