I've done some testing with this and its not the whole story.
My rig can do max at 4k and still gets 100-120 fps in the game.
But after seeing this I messed with some stuff.
I had FPS set to unlimited. So that's why I never noticed.
When I did cap it to 60 suddenly the game ran at 25% speed. FPS was fine but the game itself was in slomo.
After some testing I found out the NVIDIA frame gen setting does not play nice with the game sometimes.
So if you have an NVIDIA card and have that turned on turn it off ASAP.
The game seems to run best if you can get it to run around 60FPS or more. The game speed seems to be semi directly tied to the FPS. Below 60 you will see the game start to run in slowmo. But above 60 it runs fine.
And NO more FPS does not make the game faster.
Did a test from Bayshore Eastbound to the Lane split barrier right before the Tatsumi PA since its nice and wide and there are no turns.
60, 100, 120, 144, 180, unlimited. All the times were within a second with no rhyme or reason to their placing.
TLDR: If you have frame gen turned on turn it off.
Adjust your settings so you get at least 60 FPS.

IMO the whole Frame Generation idea is just stupid, like... they are just trying to FORCE the GFX card to spawn more frames than the hardware is allowed to produce, how is that going to impact the performance positively...

    • @JustMamba
      @JustMamba 11 дней назад +1

Frame generation gives a significant performance boost by increasing the number of frames displayed, even if they aren't natively rendered. It takes more performance to render more framws. However, it's not compatible with all games and can sometimes lead to artifacts, and other issues, which is why I personally don't prefer using it. With that, it's worth also noting that generating fake frames allows for smoother gameplay without demanding near as much raw performance from your hardware. This makes it useful for single player games or older games capped at 30 FPS due to emulation limitations or just being capped for other reasons.
I would advise against it for racing games, especially sims. It adds input delay and latency.

I had the same issue, and I noticed if from watching RUclips videos wondering why they are so much faster. For me I actually changed from DLSS to FXAA and turned frame generation off to get the faster sense of speed (with GI still on). Watched your vid and switched global illumination to medium, went back to DLSS and FG on and the sense of speed was still fast. So your on the right track, for me GI above medium slows down the sense of speed.

This right here, im running a pretty good rig with a 4070 ti super so I just cranked everything up a d thought the game was running well. I played for probably 5 or 6 hours not knowing I was actually playing the game in slowmo. I thought the sense of speed wasn't that great and figured it was because my car and upgrades weren't that good. I was running an s13 with engine 3 and supporting mods. I got to a PA and it slowed down so much it would take lile 7 or 8 seconds to do the 3 count before a race and so I messed with the settings, turning from DSS to FXAA fixed it and I felt like I was FLYING, it was amazing.

I never had this issue, I ran the game with vsync on but set to 120 fps, which is my monitors refresh rate. At 5120 x 1440p resolution, however, I was getting pretty much 40 fps. The game ran smooth and at normal speeds. I couldn't reproduce these slow downs people claimed. I don't use frame generation of any sort, ever, so that may have been the reason people are getting these slow downs.
I did lower global illumination and gained about 20+ fps by doing that. So at high settings, native (no frame gen) and global illumination at medium my fps is around 85 now. I play on Linux so maybe that changes things.

i think its there becasue it means you can react on lower fps settings, as you have less visual information, also ue5s lumen and stuff are enabled at high, so if u stick with medium you get a insane fps boost from not using the sudo raytracing unreal5 has built into the rendering engine

Nvidia frame viewer works well to show FPS instantly, as well as temps, latency, etc. If AMD, you can use Riva tuner.
The one setting that buries FPS is global illumination, as you stated. Also, keep settings on high and if need be, use upscaling and run it at quality, or balanced, which is basically resolution scale. Or, just lower the game res and run in windowed mode, if you need extra FPS. TXR isn't optimized well, at all but it's still playable on even lower end graphics cards. People shouldn't care to lower settings to play, as they should prioritize a smooth playing experience and fluidity over graphics.

1080p on medium settings and anti-aliasing set to TSR Quality is probably plenty. If you can't maintain 60FPS, try dropping GI to low.
      Happy gaming.

Ah fuck this is bad, locking animations to frame rate. Reminds me of nfs rivals, got huge backlash. Fuck, this again man...

Loving the game addictive . Rtx3070 I'm finding high settings is fine . Ultra is not optimized imo .
I hope or would love the map on 32.9 ultra wide monitors to be larger on the left side this isn't genki fault
