It doesn’t make sense to me either, this channel should be taking off like a rocket ship. One day the algorithm will hit and these guys will be famous.
Unfortunately the lads put out really great adventure / travel / sailing / travelog videos … in a great personalised way that almost anybody could get in to. They aren’t whining about some daily near death / boat loss experience, or repairing something they broke with their head in their hands … with added bikinis. Luke I know what you’re thinking …. NO … we don’t want to see you in a bikini, even for clicks …
Another classic for The Sailing Brothers Gourmet CookBook......Cheese sandwhich.....🤣 Ingredients: baguette, any old cheese, any old tomatoes. Not required: Butter or any spread, mayo, salad cream or any dressing, salt, pepper or any seasoning Great that you practised heave to, well done. Love the vids.
A little bit of everything in this episode from the sailing lesson in rough seas, to the lovely scenery, a cheese and tomato samich and being treated to a beach cookout. You guys are Living Large!😄
A bit of sailing education on heaving to⛵️, an unbelievable confession on not liking cheese at a time in the past 🥴 and a Beach BBQ 🍔🌭. What’s not to like about another Sunday epic 😎👍🏻
The skills you posses are top notch. You have taken yourselves halfway round the world on your own abilities. Thankfully you allow us to journey with you and for that i thank you. Take care boys

You are right I don't think we could open a restaurant or even if we write a cookbook it would poison people 😂😂. We are not bad at everything else though ✌️
I did the same thing when I was slaving in a bulk mailing plant. I ate 1 peanut butter sandwich, everyday for lunch, nothing else. After 3 months of hard work and boring lunches, I had lost 60 pounds (4 stone). Looks like a lot of fun, gorgeous weather! fair winds and full sails ahead.
Chicken or ground meat/carrots, peas, green beans (you get the idea) and a potato. 1 tablespoon of butter. Wrapped in aluminum (not alu minium ...lol) foil. Dig a 12" deep pit, place a rock or a layer of rocks along the bottom. Make a fire on top, and an hour later when the fire is small but hot and full of coals, place your "foil babies" around the edge of the coals and cook for an hour. Great camping meal.
Just a thought to check NC for travel restrictions due to civil unrest...you boys know what you're doing but thought I should pipe up :) Great video, love a bit of practical
Might be a good idea to tie a bit of a long line to that solar arch: If it tears off in a knock down you can retrieve it afterwards like a big tuna. Idea works good for the outboard motor as well. Be safe.
Hey Bro's. I get cockroaches here on the boat in Mexico. I buy boric acid power that has a bit of sugar mixed with it and sprinkle it near water sources aboard. Takes a few days but it kills all the bugs. Cheap, ( about 2.50 U.S. here) no smell and non toxic. Cheers!
I got absolutely slammed on FB once for suggesting you can heave too on mainsail alone but having spent 3 days heave too on my R38 it can be done. I think underwater hull shape plays a big part. Some more modern style boats just don’t heave too. Great video as always .
Thanks for another great video! Nothing like having a fire and a feed on the beach. With a beautiful sunset! Must be nice and very entertaining there, for you to spend that amount of time there? Stay safe from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦

Believe me, I speak from experience when I say it's a case of caveat emptor when buying consumables in them parts! If it's not in a tin you can expect anything ! Looks like you got caught by the dry season S.E. Trade winds! They often blow over 30kts. with seas to match! Of course in the wet season it blows out of the N.W. with equal strength!
You know your autohelm has a sailing to wind direction mode press standby and auto together for 5sec then release you can then set direction based on wind direction if it changes the autohelm direction to match
We don't really like to use our electric auto helm in more than 10 knots as they have a habit of burning out the motors. Thanks for the chips we will have to have a look into this 👍👍
I'm a little confused re the heaving too.. Why did you furl the genoa? Surely it is more stable with the genoa out and backed-- even if a bit to counteract the main driving the bow up into the wind??
Technically they weren't heaving too the boat wanted to round up but couldn't because the tiller was strapped not good practice as it puts a lot of pressure on the rudder

That is not heave too. You need jib and main because one oposes the other. The easiest way to heave to is to simply tack but don't easy the sheets so the jib backs. Then put tiller fully over the opposite wsy. At this point, you can adjust the mainsheet until the boat settles almost with no forward motion and no heal.
Our boat will heave to on the main sail alone. It's a tried and tested method. Some boats need to use the backed jib while others will heave to on just a main alone
@@TheSailingBrothersThanks for your reply. Technically yes but it’s not classic Heave Too, you are using the windage on the furled head sail to prevent a tack. However we noticed that you were slowed to 0.8 of a knot but still healed over and moving around quite a bit. I was more concerned that for most boats Heave Too without a Jib/Genoa backed isn’t possible so in effect you were teaching incorrectly. Try with the reefed jib in plus 25kts I think you will be surprised just how comfy the boat 😅 settles , we stand up straight can brew up and have a meal. Keep flying the flag 🏴
