    A small Ryobi compressor with 40' of food grade hose to a regulator gets the job done like a charm . And since it's cordless you can throw it in your dinghy go hunt lobster etc etc . With the 9A battery , count on about an hour of run time ,. For those with Ryobi tools to begin with , this is a no brainer . Cheers

    Grab yourself a suction handle so you can stick it on the hull. Also, a dive weight on a belt. So much easier if you are fighting to stay down and you can hold on with one hand. We have been using the same pump for the last 6 years. Works great. We use it every month to scrub the bottom

    Yes, a tank with a regulator, and a larger CFM filter will greatly increase the longevity of the motor. And it will supply a few minuts of backup air if the pump should fail.

    Try using about ten pounds on a weight belt and some fins. Also pick up a suction cup for holding yourself in place…I just bought a larger compressor for my system. Really need to look at the CFM rating and find one that is about 2.5-ish for best results. 👍

    You need a bigger filter.. that is why you are having to suck on it
    to use 160 litres of air, you would have to take 80 or more breaths per minute
    honestly that compressor would supply enough air to feed two regulators at the same time
    Plus...
    the hose, do a search for a "hose flow rate calculator" to see how much it restricts the flow
    just enter in Bore Diameter (mm), the Pressure (Bar) of the pump and the Length (Metres) of the hose
    rule of thumb, 10 meters of hose will half your flow rate.
    but still, at 80 litres of air you should not need to suck on it.
    Hope this helps
    And watch some dive safty tutorials, it won't make a lot of difference 2 or 3 meters under the water but the *** MOST IMPORTANT ONE *** is to always Breathe OUT on the way up.
    if you are at full depth of your 10 meter hose and you don't breathe out on the way up. you will POP your Lungs. (and most people will die from that without urgent medical care)

    • @FiddlingwithmyWhistle
      @FiddlingwithmyWhistle 26 дней назад +3

      @@janshort3663 yes, we used to use a water filter system (like in a bong) that was made out of an old fire extinguisher.
      The type that has a 'car valve' to top it up.
      attach the pump to the out let of the extinguisher as it already has a pipe going down to the bottom, and then attach the breather hose to the valve stem after removing the valve.
      change and inspect the water after every use, simples :)
      and from memory it was a 2 kg bottle, and we would only put a litre of water in it. which ment you had a litre of compressed air ready, so there was lest pump lag after one person had taken a breath.

    • @stefflus08
      @stefflus08 26 дней назад +3

    I have cleaned hulls for years---you will need a set of suction cup handles--one hand for suctions and one hand for scraper/bruch. You are using way too much energy trying to stay close to the hull.. They are about 25-$30--Mikey

    I notice some better informed people have made some useful comments. Some stones in a bag might help?

    Just add an expansion tank with a pressure valve and you will fix how hard you have to breath to get the air!

    You guys should produce them and sell them for $600

    You guys really need a weight belt to get neutral buoyancy , constantly having to fight to stay under will be making you want to breath more with all the movement .
    Getting that compressor was a good solution , don't need the compressor floating on the water just for cleaning the hull as long as your hookah hose is long enough .

      I think we do need some weights a weight belt do the job just great 👍. Someone else mentioned a suction cup

    That is a very clever setup but I'd still be nervous about it. At least you are not that deep if something goes wrong you can pop back up to the surface. 🙂

      @smokindauberdoo4208 22 дня назад

      It's safe and you never want to pop-up to the surface
      Always make sure your bubbles are going up faster than you

    • @TheSailingBrothers
      @TheSailingBrothers  22 дня назад

      Yes we are just below the surface so if something goes wrong we can just pop back up ✌️

    I love the thinking and creativity! Pushing up underwater is rough. You can use rope from one side of the boat under the keel to the other side with enough room to hold it about six inches to 1 ft away from the boat. Maybe make two or 3 lines with clips you can attach to the poles on the gunnel. Grab the line, feet on the boat and now you got some leverage. Everyone wants leverage! 3 ropes and clips, total cost maybe $30?

    I understand your frustration. At 85 years of age I am told my pains are just age. I am in pain and consistently been told age is the problem. What a load of rubbish. Why don't GP believe patients. Really annoying

    Breathing from a cheap compressor might give you a real health problem, any oil or debris goes straight to your lungs and can’t be removed. People have died from slight oil contamination making then get pneumonia. I wouldn’t breathe from a cheap compressor without a proper filter and some assurance.

    Be mindful of carbon monoxide should the oil less pump over heat/fail ( never use it without the other watching closely). Carbon Monoxide poisoning can come on extremely quickly and incapacitate you.
