Yep, I know. But this cover is inspired by Disturbed's cover. Celine Dion has done covers of songs too, like It's all coming back to me now. Another popular one is I Will Always Love You. Most do a cover based on Whitney Houston.
@@shiloweannesings I'm not sure if I imagine myself doing much in the ways of music, but if I ever did a cover of this song, I'd combine elements from the original, as well as the Disturbed version.
Hello, darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never share And no one dare Disturb the sound of silence "Fools," said I, ""You do not know Silence, like a cancer, grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you"" But my words like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls And tenement halls And whispered in the sound Of silence"
Thank you! I know it's not originally from Disturbed, but my cover is inspired by their cover. Same idea as some of Celine's songs, which are also covers of another artist, like It's All Coming Back To Me Now.
@@shiloweannesings I did love your cover and Disturbed's. The original by Simon and Garfunkel came out just two years before I was born in 66, however my father was a big Simon and Garfunkel fan with a kick ass stereo and speakers for the time.
@@rangerhawk that's awesome! We are a very musical family on both sides. I grew up with lots of music (my dads family played at VFW's and the like, their whole life) and play violin. My hubby started playing drums and bass with bands at 14 (born in '68). He's my audio engineer for my cover songs.
@@shiloweannesings Thats cool, my late uncle on my father's side was a concert violinist. He was the only professional musician in my family I know of.
No offense no offense 0 so I want to sing this song there is no way you're going to say this song like that man so I beg your pardon no way so please don't get offended but back off you ain't going to do it

Thank you! I appreciate the kind comment!
@@shiloweannesings You're welcome👩🏻
Keep it up ❤
Thank you!
The original song is sung by Simon and Garfunkle, not Disturbed...his version is a cover as is this person.
❤

Absolutely 💯 amazingly beautifully done. ❤
Good bit disturbed is the best I think. He now owns the song.
Your not kidding that
Agree… Dan Vasc’s cover is a tie with David Draiman’s (Disturbed) IMO. This song is one of my favorites.
Ah, congrats on 100 subs!!!! So happy for you! 🎊🥳🎉
Thank you!

Hello, darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools," said I, ""You do not know
Silence, like a cancer, grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you""
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said
"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound
Of silence"
Just beautiful i may say
actually, it would be Sound of Silence -Simon & Garfunkel (Cover by Shilowe) Disturbed only did a cover of the song.
Bella!!
Thank you!
Disturbed is number one
Jó Hamis.
Подождите, это вы написаали?
No original by Simon and Garfunkel in the 1960’s
Very nice job but not close to the power that David has of course no one can touch his voice on this song but very nice cover
Awesome cover, but it's not Disturbed's song. That was also a cover...
