The stuff about the invasions and how they created the infinity circuit all comes from the codexes (I think 7th and 8th edition) as well as the 7th edition iyanden codex supplement
All can more easily be found on the warhammer 40k wiki page about them. Added Fun fact, they were also so effective at purging chaos from the eastern galatic rim that even the lords of Terra pondered at one point why chaos never successfully built any strongholds there as they had across the rest of space
I run a custom craftworld with expert crafters and wrath of the dead (reroll wound rolls of 1). I call them "Isha's Chosen". Their lore is they believe they have to push to Nurgles Garden to release Isha (their fertility goddess) from her prison so they will be able to have children at a normal rate again to rebuild their race. It's mostly a wraith army since obviously aton of them die trying to do this and other craftworlds wont even acknowledge them bc they hate the idea of throwing away eldar lives. The wrath of the dead is NASTY on wraithfighters. When they shoot at marines they auto hit 2d3 shots, wound on 2s (reroll failed), -4 ap so normal marines dont get a save. And any shot that goes through does 2 dmg so it kills a marine. Perfect for targeting devistator squads. Also helps with my wraithblades and wraith lords but usually once the wraithfighters kill the devistators (or equivalent) the rest can just run the table (bright Lance's on the wraithlords killing vehicle heavy weapon threats).
One of the most forgotten custom craftworld traits that had (has?) some success is Hunter of Ancient Relics. +1 A near objectives can be very good on Wraiths or Shining Spears!
Thanks a lot for the video! I recently started collecting and building my eldar forces and of course i went with custom craftworld (i just love to play my dudes and build my storyline). Craftworld is called Eislenn and it was a small but reliable food and supply producer for other major craftworlds such as Biel-Tan. But things get bad when an ork horde led by corsair captain Badrukk pillaged big part of the craftworld before was driven out by my main character farseer Alee Ullamar and her brother Rhidhal, soul of which was inserted in big wraithlord after his heroic death (i already played that game and it was completely AWESOME with wraithlord bashing with morkanaut and eldar protecting vital supply points with their lives). After that attack, farseer and her entourage was sent for a quest of vengeance to orcs and searching for a safe haven to repair the heavily damaged craftworld. On the tabletop that fluff was represented like that: Attributes - Wrath of the Dead and Hail of Doom. Alee is short on manpower but strong in her ability to guide wraith constructs, and with almost all aspect warriors of the craftworld destroyed she have to rely on scouts and guardians (which commonly are set in the webway to aid in crutial moments of battle with shurikens blazing). Right now i have a lot of fun with eldar, playing narrative scenarios and painting my badass wraithlord with sniper rifle and i really wanna see the new codex to play some crusade stuff and push the storyline further.

I was hoping Mymeara was going to be covered. I'm researching a new Eldar force and the focus on stealth and Shadow Spectres was what I'm aiming for. I'd love to see those units folded into the normal model range in the future.
i went with Ulthwe in the end, mainly base on colour scheme (went retro yellow over bone) ... so hoping they can improve some of the model line in the coming 18months
If you've got an airbrush - which you should considering Craftworlds' heavy reliance on vehicles in the competitive scene, Craftworld Mymeara has got a pretty spiffy colour scheme. Neat lore too.
Hmm, not sure about that. Dire Avengers are overpriced for just 5 models and Guardians are crude sculpts from 1999. The most frustrating CW infantry, however, are also the most recent: The spectacularly designed yet crazy expensive box of Howling Banshees - units that GW somehow keeps nerfing(!) even after the dud of a highway robbery that was Blood of the Phoenix. Absolutely insane.
I think that improved shurikens are underrated, assuming you have enough shuriken weapons to make it worth it. Even having 16" range on things like Striking Scorpions pistols can be surprisingly useful. And the extra threat range on guardians, Dire Avengers, and Shuriken Cannons can really help you dictate the tempo of a battle. I have it paired with Master Crafters, so I have buffed both my heavy and small arms weapons.
It is clear that the best Craftworld is the one that leads to plastic Aspect warrior's. I've debated getting some Craftworlders. I'd probably go custom for Hail of doom or the one that ignores cover and Webway warrior's for a fun agressive army. Could be fun to drop 3 (via stratagem) full squads of Guardians. That could demolish about anything right?
After getting back in to 40K with my son after a nearly 30 year gap since I last played, it’s good to see Eldar still have the same models. Proper retro! 😂
I'm a fan of Ulthwe, and I've been having a ton of fun with Storm Guardians and Fusion Guns lately. Would love to see new Aspect Warriors or some new troop resculpts.
Really hoping Biel-Tan's tan's rules change to something more interesting. Re-roll 1's with Shuriken Weapons and +1Ld for Aspect Warriors is pretty lackluster and not really fitting for a Craftworld means to specialist in the use of Aspect Warriors, most of whom don't even use Shuriken weapons..
Given how powerful other armies have really powerful choosable stuff, I'd say it wouldn't be broken to give Biel-Tan the -1 AP and extra shuriken range from the custom traits.
Agreed. I feel like rolling 2d6 or 3d6 when Advancing and picking the highest would be better. It would synergise well with Battle Focus, with Banshees' Advance and Charge, and a few Craftworld weapons are short ranged so they need it. Also it would buff transports, thus overall helping both melee and ranged units. The only units it wouldn't help are jetbikes, but that's fine cause that's Saim-Hann's thing.
Think they need something that benefits both ranged and combat Aspect Warriors, like all Aspect Warriors go from 3+ to 2+ WS and BS. Just something that will add a little extra to all of them.
@@isaachernandez3100 Charging with Banshees isn't something I've tended to have trouble with, it's surviving the return hits due to not having the necessary punch to kill what they charged followed by the inevitable fall back and by subsequent shooting in the enemy turn. I just think their Craftworld Attribute should be something that adds a little extra benefit to all of their Aspect Warriors. The units I most associate with Biel-Tan are Aspect Warriors, Autarchs and The Avatar. The generals they are best known for negate all the benefits of their Craftworld Attribute which was never that good anyway; even less so for an army built of mostly Aspect Warriors.
Ulthwe. Black and bone is a nice combo and their rep as mysterious saviors and merciless foes is quite nice. Also, waaaay back when Craftworlds were allowed to have lore that actually makes them sound badass, they had quite a few coups. Also, in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Taldeer was probably the only time a farseer did farseer stuff: making seemingly unrelated things all lead to the right goal. You know, actually acting like a powerful precog.
I tend to use a custom craftworld with masterful shots and expert crafters. It’s brilliant for dark reapers and fire prisms. But recently I’ve been thinking about taking at least one Ulthwe detachment - army-wide 6+++, black guardian bomb and access to Eldrad is very good IMO.
I have been all about warding runes and expert crafters since deathguard dropped and the MW protection has onlly become better on each GW release, Warding runes , expert crafters is the new hotness.
CW Altansar is my jam, Maugan-Ra & the Chaos taint being the primary draws for me to play a fast, shooty, magical army in spaaaace... (these days, I run em custom: ExpCraft & CoP -- Khairne/Tzeensha influence).
I would probably go Saim Hann. I like the idea of speeder bikes but fancy a bit more upbeat than reavers and vemons and really don't fancy all that gold of the custards.
How do you guys pronounce the "Saim" in Saim-Hann? I always thought it was similar to the word "samurAI", but everyone online seems to call it "same" hann. I just think the former sounds cooler.
I’m normally a Craftworld player but they’re just not functioning in 9th, so sitting in a box. That said there are some builds that work, it’s just very limited.
I've had some pretty solid success fielding Wraiths as a central damage sponge, Grav Tank for distraction carnifex, bright lances for Anti Armor, and webway walking loads of rangers onto objectives. I try to use Psychic Ritual secondary for the fatty 15VP for casting Doom three times center table, lol.
I have an Iybraesil army of models ready to go but not painted as going with Ultramarines (I actually like primaris, always though normal spesh marines looked terrible) and Adeptas Sororitas for models I can actually play, while I wait out for a codex refresh. Though getting piety and pain to help build a ynnari force is very tempting.
So, the Gaelic word Saim-Hann is based on- Samhain, which is what we know in English as Halloween -is pronounced something like So-ween. Sauin is the Manx spelling, which makes more sense to English spelling.
Don't even need to look at this. Either pick the one you like or make up your own like I did. I have a craft world name and usually a battle force name for games up to 1500 points. In an homage to Pratchet my battle force is Rince Wind. Plus, I have not seen another Eldar force using Tin Bitz as the primary colour.
If only Eldar had featured in The Horus Heresy, they’d have a new model line by now. Sadly 40k (the plastic version of 30k) is not so lucky. ADB, get on it!
Thanks for the video :) I almost beggin warhammer 40k with eldar, but maybe I will make an army of them in the futur... (after the spaces marines... and the adeptus mechanicus... and the orks, and the chaos space marines I have from I don't remember where ^^')
I own over 14000 points of CWE not including my forge world units. I have all Craftworlds or rather some battalions to them. Most of my eldari are in Purple/white/bone colours for my Custom craftworld. One day we shall get new models!!! GLORY TO THE ELDARI
I'm new to 40k and would like to maybe one day make an Exodite army. Since there are no rules for them, could I just use the alternate rules for craftworld eldar?
Hail of Doom and Warding Runes are also really deadly as they allow for AP -1 and a wound role that would result in a mortal would can be nullified with a role of 5+ This makes the Guardian Bomb extremely deadly as 40 shots of S4, that can have reroles due to Psychic spells, is not only deadly but due to their rather weak armour save and no invulnerable save means that alot of killing potential against them will be hampered. Their recent points drop makes this a rather deadly strategy since for just 320 points you can have 2 Guardian Bombs.
Iyanden if you want to kill, Biel-Tan if you want to be stereotypical, Ulthwe if you want to have a Vindicare in your army, Saim-Hann if you want to come out of left field, Altaioc if you want to be a turbo-virgin
I really miss the special rules for black guardians. It was one of the main reason for choosing Ulthwe back in the day. As it is, Guardians are just cannon fodder. Which makes no sense, lore wise.
Before I watch this video let me just say: Saim Hann. Always Wild Host. Unless they give Iyanden ability to take WG as a core troop there's no beating Wild Host.

Expert Crafters is pretty good for many units since alot of your heavy weapons are going to be Bright Lances and being able to rerole them is great.
Yea!!!! Hopefully they get buffed in the new edition
Biel-Tan. I just like the army style and fluff.
Hey AT, I hope to see some Deldar unit breakdowns or tier lists from you soon with the new codex dropping. Keep up the great work!
After getting back in to 40K with my son after a nearly 30 year gap since I last played, it’s good to see Eldar still have the same models. Proper retro! 😂
I know, same here. I played in the late nineties and feel very at home with most of the models!
Yeah honestly the only way to get updated guys is 3rd party.
I'm a fan of Ulthwe, and I've been having a ton of fun with Storm Guardians and Fusion Guns lately. Would love to see new Aspect Warriors or some new troop resculpts.
You got your wish, mate. :)
I am sorry but they have one of the best stratagems in the entire codex. Basically making banshees to never fail a charge.
Custom craft world. masterful shots and hail of doom no cover saves and -1 in 12 inch. Lots of spears and dire avengers
As a guard player... You're a monster.
Don't forge the Guardian Bomb.
Was just thinking about this question , spooky
I tend to use a custom craftworld with masterful shots and expert crafters. It’s brilliant for dark reapers and fire prisms. But recently I’ve been thinking about taking at least one Ulthwe detachment - army-wide 6+++, black guardian bomb and access to Eldrad is very good IMO.
Hot take: the only reason craftworlds haven't gone the way of the Squats is because GW wants money from the old molds and new (low effort) codexes
Please do Tau septs next. My blue bios need some love as well :'(
Always expert crafters and depending on what I play, masterful shots/ hunter of ancients relics/ masters of concealment
Yes finally Eldar content thank you!
I usually go Biel Tan for aspect warriors or Ulthwé for Eldrad and good rule.
As a Based-Tan player, I appreciate this video.
"they aren't the strongest craftworlds"
me:......there's a strong one in TT?
what does TT stand for?
@@alexchatter692 tabletop
@@darko-man8549 thank you
@@alexchatter692 no worries.
I feel like this video wanted to wait for a 9th craftworld codex.
Started out using Iyanden back in 4th edition (because wraithguard were so tough. Now I'm using Lugganath because Harlequin allies in the fluff!
Ulthwe
So, the Gaelic word Saim-Hann is based on- Samhain, which is what we know in English as Halloween -is pronounced something like So-ween. Sauin is the Manx spelling, which makes more sense to English spelling.
The Eldar players in this comment section are literally every single person who still plays them. There are dozens of you. Dozens!
Almost like a dying race.
A non Imperial video? You feeling alright mate?
Will be this a series?
Don't even need to look at this. Either pick the one you like or make up your own like I did. I have a craft world name and usually a battle force name for games up to 1500 points. In an homage to Pratchet my battle force is Rince Wind. Plus, I have not seen another Eldar force using Tin Bitz as the primary colour.
I play Yme-Loc, and it's the best because it's a legit excuse to use Expert Crafters :D
Are there any rules for corsairs or would you have to run them as a custom craftworld?
If only Eldar had featured in The Horus Heresy, they’d have a new model line by now. Sadly 40k (the plastic version of 30k) is not so lucky.
ADB, get on it!
Ulthwe because Eldrad. Enough said.
Iyandon have suffered far too much for me not to support them, but still new to the hobby(I run Blood Angels) and I'm SO scared of yellow
Thanks for the video :)
I almost beggin warhammer 40k with eldar, but maybe I will make an army of them in the futur... (after the spaces marines... and the adeptus mechanicus... and the orks, and the chaos space marines I have from I don't remember where ^^')
Expert crafters + wrath of the dead (and spiritseer), rerolls for days. Beat blood angels first time out with them in a 1k point game
Is Master Crafters still reroles on shoot and fight? I read somewhere its was just shoot or over watch
Poor Kaelor, gets a whole book and a bunch of short stories to itself and doesn't even get a mention in the codex.
I own over 14000 points of CWE not including my forge world units. I have all Craftworlds or rather some battalions to them. Most of my eldari are in Purple/white/bone colours for my Custom craftworld. One day we shall get new models!!! GLORY TO THE ELDARI
I play Biel Tan as it gives me more flexibility army wide and makes my normal shuriken better.
More Xenos vidz plz, especially CW and Nids for me.
Saim-Hann ❤️
Iyanden 💛
Alaitoc 🖤
Ulthwe 🖤
There is a rumor I read recently eldar are about to get new figurines and new rules :O
I'm new to 40k and would like to maybe one day make an Exodite army. Since there are no rules for them, could I just use the alternate rules for craftworld eldar?
Exodites got rid of all technology and are not spacefaring. They ride dinosaurs into inter tribal battle. Basically armish of the space elves
Hail of Doom and Warding Runes are also really deadly as they allow for AP -1 and a wound role that would result in a mortal would can be nullified with a role of 5+
This makes the Guardian Bomb extremely deadly as 40 shots of S4, that can have reroles due to Psychic spells, is not only deadly but due to their rather weak armour save and no invulnerable save means that alot of killing potential against them will be hampered.
Their recent points drop makes this a rather deadly strategy since for just 320 points you can have 2 Guardian Bombs.
Guys the trick is to expert crafters and masterful shots and pray GW doesnt change it in the next codex
I use custom craftworld traits for my imaginary exodite army.
When each craftworld gets its own codex...
When this will happen, all Space marine Homebrew chapters will have their own codexes)
This will happen when each space marine successor chapter has their own codex
ahhhh! Eldar Content!
Iyanden if you want to kill, Biel-Tan if you want to be stereotypical, Ulthwe if you want to have a Vindicare in your army, Saim-Hann if you want to come out of left field, Altaioc if you want to be a turbo-virgin
where i can find detailed ynnari rules?
Iyanden all day!! A character with a negative special rule...now that ahem...shows character ;).
More Eldar vids please
I love this channel.
How about the one that will Eldritch blast GW to make some more craftworld models
Black library best craft world I love my clowns
