"I should never have to read a 15 year old's opinion on anything" PREACH, brother! Everything over the last few years that has happened with Twitch, I just can't stand the platform anymore. The stream I run took 6 years to get 14k+ followers through lots of work and I just can't ethically use a platform that acts in this way so I've started the process of shutting it down. The last bit about the revenue split has zero effect on me, now or ever, but still find it outrageous. That personally was the "last straw". Its treacherous decisions and non-ethics continue to pile up, growing like a cancer. Terminal at this point.
You recently made that video about the psycho comments you get and you have mentioned that your RUclips viewership is down. I just wanted to take a moment to say I respect your journalistic integrity and really look up to you as a media figure and whether it's a video that relates to me or it's a CSGO vid ( I don't play), I see a RL vid in my feed, I watch. I really enjoy what you do and I love your content. I will be bummed when ever you call it quits. Keep on keeping on bruv
The push back on RUclips streaming for Esports tournys was insane to me. Being able to pause and rewind Should be the feature that sealed the deal, but instead people got up in arms... over a fucking emote...
Twitch video player is such absolute garbage , especially when u don't have high quality internet. Sometimes it feels like u can watch something in 4k on RUclips but not 1080p on twitch, never makes sense to me
What I find shocking is their frontpage. No option for you to "don't want to see". They keep pushing everything in your face that you are not interested in, no engine behind picking up your habits. Just pushing who they want to promote.
I believe the jericho incident was that he was given these coins by McDonalds called like big mac coins or something but he kept saying whopper on accident. And of course McDonalds doesn't even want a mention of something related to their competitor Burger King. That's what caused the deal to go up in smoke.
I worked in a marketing department for 2 lead betting companies straight out of uni. If they had it their way sports betting would be cancelledand FobT would be everywhere. and played by everyone. I saw some absurd gambling addiction which really wasn't vetted and policed by the companies to a remotely acceptable level. So yes, you are right in that sports betting typically has less addiction attached to it relative to casino games. Suffice it to say i left those companies rather quickly.
When I used to sports bet once I caught myself betting on Uzbekistan U21 games I realised I needed to chill the fuck out and just stopped and occasionally bet on UFC and maybe some premier league games.
Man, I would kill for the Hearthstone "just chatting" times again, and let the people laying in their chair spewing out bullshit all day long watching youtube go somewhere else
tbh my relationship with sports betting is gambling once or twice a year with my friend on the major and I find it a great way to be more engaged with the best event of the year have a bit of fun and money.
I think one reasonable arguement against gambling online on stuff is that: Yes, it's fine to advertise sports betting in the UK, if the UK has clear and good rules about it, and a culture that understands gambling and is not having problems with it. The issue I would take is that if you have a global reach, and you advertise the gambling globally, then places like Nogamblia, where there's no gambling, and thus no proper rules, culture to handle gambling etc. would also get the ads, and I could get behind an opposition to gambling in general based on that.
16:33 There's less than a 0.05% chance of getting 11 tails in a row. But if there's already been 10 tails in a row, it's only a 50% chance to get tails again
I think one of the main things keeping Twitch hyped are the Drops and the Twitch Prime Loot. I know I only consistently "watch" Twitch whenever there's some drop involved, otherwise I just jump in and out these days.
Watching twitch on your phone has become super annoying with the ads. Was tuning into summit yesterday first i got served a 15 second ad as I joined and literally 15 seconds later 6 ads a total of like 2 minutes played. I love summit so i stuck through it but alot of ppl will just leave. Sucks
Good video. Happy to hear you and destiny might stream together more, I think that could lead to some actual interesting discussion. Mad suggestion but another one I'd like to see is Jimmy Dore.
that amazon and bezos catch zero flak in the offline media for all this is mind boggling. One of the world's largest companies is monetizing online gambling (with just the right amount of "distance") and pushing it to a mostly underage audience. Could you imagine if Nickelodeon programmed hour long blocks of slot machine livestreams during afterschool hours and took ad revenue from Wynn resorts for commercial spots? That's hardly any different from what twitch has gotten away with this entire time. The platform has become grotesque and is in dire need of a top-to-bottom house cleaning
I somehow remembered Own3dtv being Pwn3dtv... I Googled after you mentioned it... turns out I was confusing it with VGHS PwnZwn The more you know I guess...? Anyhoo... thanks for the content as always Rich!

Should be 21+ really, maybe even 25+ :D

"who really cares about certain types of emotes"
A very fair point but I'm still sad they nuked RL sussy.

Honestly I could watch you talk about paint drying and I'd still be loving the content. Much love!
again probably the most balanced and informed opinion on everything that happened recently with Twitch

Yeah, we're both right. He also played a character Red Robin, which is another rival fast food chain, so they didn't like that either. Great times.
the opening ad in these videos is always worth turning the music up for
What a great concept with the psychic crime analogy

Man II almost forgot about the phantomlord thing by now, did anything ever happen?
When I used to sports bet once I caught myself betting on Uzbekistan U21 games I realised I needed to chill the fuck out and just stopped and occasionally bet on UFC and maybe some premier league games.
"It reminds me when mummy - not daddy, daddy was in jail - would read me a bedtime story" HAHAHAA
38:10 I remember that too. That is how I found out about you Richard. 👍
I just started the video. The 'pogchamp slightly different' bit killed me already.
The only time I go to twitch for streams now is when CS tourneys don't have a youtube stream or occasionally to re-up my prime sub to Richard.
Of course i get a gambling ad when finished watching this video😂

36:50. Fucking based Richard LOL
Betting on Wakiso Giants is my favourite pastime
How is it that Twitch constantly do everything so horribly… this is just insane!

good watch for some morning exercise
I like the new ad jingle

please have a little more respect for yourself. Obnoxious purple coloured skinnerboxes aren't worth it.

who woulda thought that trainwrecks would be the one taking nonstop Ws
Well you got me stoked for a Breast painting stream now
honestly it is disgraceful that he hasnt had any repercussions yet.
Twitch streamers are companies... that's it.
Pokimane is Actvision, Ninja is EA, etc.
RL Hot tub stream when? 😍😂
