I managed about 12 minutes of this total crap. Before childishly ranting and swinging the camera around everywhere, go to a GM, Ford or Chrysler dealer and check out their automobiles, then come back and look at BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar etc. to compare. Sure, you can then screw around with Korean brands, Japanese brands (usually built in N.America) or even Tesla, but its guaranteed that automobiles produced by the “Big 3” will be at the bottom of the heap.
great video .. just a suggestion that you must introduce current car pricing trend in CA or the best way to buy used cars from trusted dealers or areas .

The N52 was and is the BEST engine BMW EVER made. This engine is bulletproof for sure. Most of them around my area have well over 200k miles and a few I’ve seen on e90 n52 had over 400k miles. Great point.
I haven't watched this - but just know you are going to mention Kia and Hyundai. I drove a 2008 Elantra 143K miles, with minimal general maintenance - sold 3 years ago and this current owner has put another 28K on the car - still perfect. My sister-in-law drives a 2005 Sonata with 204K on it - two sets of tires and 2 car batteries, general maintenance - that's it. My current 2019 Kia Forte has 43K - zero issues other than the theft re-programming recall Kia performed.

Actually, older cars have much higher chances of lasting over 100k with less running costs compared to modern counterparts. They had less things to break
@michaelqu He means 1980's prior, carburated engines that suffered fuel drip into cylinders that diluted oil on cylinder walls. Conventional motor oil that never lubricated the engine well during startup etc
So true on Audi oil consumption. We had 2018 Q5 and we had oil consumption and quattro drive line issues. Lucky we leased it. Now we have '22 Lexus NX hybrid and so far very it has been reliable.
Have to disagree on your point about the Model S. Mine is a 2018 and has over 100,000km and still running strong. No battery issues, no other malfunctions.
You can be fairly confident these faults are mostly designed in knowingly. The water feature into critical areas is typical. Also the plastic chain tensioner and guides. BEVs will have faults built in. Plastic heater matrix above the computer should do it. Wet belt is blatant.

I drive a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse and am quite concerned about the airbag recall. Why they have no fix for it still and I have to continue to drive around in a vehicle that is definitely unsafe due to possible shrapnel being driven through me in an accident. I guess that’s part of corporate policing themselves. They should be required to provide a rentals to every owner of these brands till a fix is in…. Absolutely irresponsible and wreck-less on GM’s part…. Someone needs to do a video on this and pressure them until they correct this… I took mine in this summer to a GM dealer and was told they know of the recall but can’t do anything till GM comes up with a solution…
If I were you I’d be more concerned about that GM LLT V6 engine and making sure you change the oil religiously. Timing chains are unforgiving on poor oil.

The Lexus ES300h has a 6 year/70K powertrain warranty. The Euros only go 4 yr 50k. That Lexus gets over 40 mpg on Regular fuel. I would say most cars get expensive over 100k due to wear n tear and drying seals. The extended warranty companies love Lexus. The Euros not so much.

Every time you punch that camera, I expect my screen to crack! 😄 "The amazing oval of despair." I've never heard it put quite this way. 😂 Ford actually uses a BELT to run the oil pump?! That's a whole new level of insanity! 100% agree on Tesla. lithium-ion batteries start to age from the moment they are manufactured. Their capacity slowly decreases all the time, even when you don't use them at all. That well-aged Tesla is a throwaway vehicle at this point.
Japanese aluminium engines will never last 100,000 miles. They corode so much in 6:32 the cylinder block that the whole engine has to be replaced. It happened both in my Toyota (90,000km+) and Dihatsu (145,000 km+). Too bad I learned too late.
Concerning the airbag suspension example on that BMW--both BMW and Mercedes should subscribe to the motto of "Just because you CAN do it (adding so-called "features") doesn't mean you SHOULD".

Many of those cars decades ago were abused, poorly maintained and had odometers rolled back at least once, so the legendary 100,000 miles limit is debatable.

Have watched a few of your videos, and it tells me that German, Japanese, Korean, American, Swedish, and British vehicles are unreliable. Well, what's left? French and Italian? I'm thinking about it now, I read an article where independent reliability and customer satisfaction studies were done on many different vehicle manufacturers, and I was shocked to find out that Alfa-Romeo (known for unreliable brand in the past) recently received a higher reliability and customer satisfaction score than its German rivals like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, many Japanese manufacturers were also lower down the list. Guess Americans don't really buy Italian or French cars, or they're not really available out there (except exotic Italian cars like Lamborghini and Ferrari). I think I'll purchase a sexy Italian Alfa-Romeo then.
Don't forget anything that says Eco Tech (GM) EcoBoost Ford. Due to the close Proximity of Hot TURBOS, to Aluminum Engine Block. Engineers of today are not aware of how hot TURBOS get, and it's up to 1,875° F, which warps the side wal of the engine. Symptoms are severe shaking of engine, due to piston rings cutting the inside diameter of the cylinder bore. The walls expand inside or inwards, and on the cold start the piston floats and bang back and forth causing the shaking. Code reads overboost, when I reality it is under boosted.👦👍🏎🏁. It takes 2 months to get the replacement engine. The warranty only pays for 1 months, and the 2nd engine only last 1.5 years. The 2nd time they won't cover rental for the 2 months. How people are led to believe Eco is economical, heck I upgraded to a 2022 Roush and it is the best investment, and the Magneride Suspension is awesome. + I Coast heading to stops on exit or to intersections on neutral with the 3rd Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission
@ECPP Yes, only Porsche design is the best they mount the Turbos away from the engines. Tuners like the Gymkana Mustang ( Ken Block ) and Old JDM know this. After the 2008 to 2011 recession. Not even Toyota could make their own Supra, and well now it's a reskinned BMW Z4 coupe.. As it was BMW had heating issues, they compounded that with adding Turbos into the engine bay

I always enjoy your videos
Keep up the great work.🤩
SO bought a 2012 Ram C/V mini-van, New. Was a great vehicle to 140K 5 years a great vehicle. Then I ran outta gas and listened to the radio for 45 minutes till gas showed up. Seems I overheated the fuel pump which was running the whole time cause there was no gas to build up pressure to turn off. Disaster. TIPCM was never the same, even changed that out and Van was never right again. .
YOU’RE WRONG… as a used dealer I personally see thousands of Nissan SENTRA’s & Altimas at the auction and trading with 150k and more mileage….
Thanks for sharing
30 year old cars were much more reliable and timing chains we're much easier to do as they was on the front of the engine and not at the rear like today's combination of Complete Madness you know who I'm talking about😮😮😢😢😢❤
Spot on review
Keep up the good work.❤️
Thanks a ton
Thank you so much for sharing your knowlege, great work and very fan to watch
So nice of you
Another great video! My 2018 Genesis G80 Sport has just hit 165k kms.
Great to hear!
Why can't BMW make a reliable vehicle ? this is beyond comical - the Ultimate Driving Machine that always broke
Really not sure. Newest 4 and 6 bangers are solid
I think its what the market demand, they want fast cars with latest tech.
I managed about 12 minutes of this total crap. Before childishly ranting and swinging the camera around everywhere, go to a GM, Ford or Chrysler dealer and check out their automobiles, then come back and look at BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar etc. to compare. Sure, you can then screw around with Korean brands, Japanese brands (usually built in N.America) or even Tesla, but its guaranteed that automobiles produced by the “Big 3” will be at the bottom of the heap.
is ULTIMATELY BROKEN
great video .. just a suggestion that you must introduce current car pricing trend in CA or the best way to buy used cars from trusted dealers or areas .
Good point!
Great reviews, wonderful sense of humor, saying things that must be said for Caveat Emptor. Kudos, no kidding.
Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta are known to have the same frail DCT transmissions that the Ecosport had. Not even the old cars that use dry timing belts have a timing belt-driven oil pump.
8:04 An XJ. Their signature car. I had a 1998 in immaculate condition, and sold at 115k miles with no issues. If you get the chains updated they can last up to 300,000 miles, I’m speaking of the X308. 1998-2003.
Sweet ride
"20 or 30 years ago, most cars could only DREAM of lasting a 100 thousand miles" yet here i am with an almost 21 year old Peugeot 306 at over 190,000 Kilometers still gliding through corners like a little dragon as if it was brand new
Great show and information i watch your show regularly ! What's your opinion on the Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars i am planning on buying one over the brand new cars of today ?
how come bmw got rid of the bullet proof N52 engine? Would consider an x1 if it had that engine in it.
It's your loss if you haven't watched this before commenting! The overwhelming majority of vehicles mentioned are fancy European brands... Best line.... big rings of despair ... (Audi).
@@RodneyW - I have watched many - and they always have Kia and Hyundai getting dogged. Doesn't make sense to me as I've owned both makes since 2005 with ZERO issues. Since 1976 I have owned the Big 3, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, and Kia. Worst lemon was a beautiful 1986 Chevy IROC - too many problems to list - got rid of it at 5500 miles.
Thanks for sharing
What about Kia Hyundai starting a fire by itself in a garage. I read an article that there are 3.4m cars on recall right now. You must be brave, I wouldn’t be able to handle having a such time bomb on my property 😂
@@bysaaa3048 😂😂😂 "I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do I do I do believe in spooks" 🤣😂😂😂 - don't listen to false propaganda direct from Japanese automakers.
I think 20 years ago most cars could make 100,000 mi no problem. I think today cars are having more problems before 100,000 mi than ever before. You have to go back to the '60s and '70s to find cars that couldn't make it 100,000
Agreed
stay away from ANY Lucas electrics and SU carbs also ask to inspect the old timing chain sets.the older cars used nylon toothed gear sets and when they broke it was over.
Great points
You know WHY Brits drink WARM BEER ?
Because they have LUCAS refrigerators, very old joke !
My Nissan 2010 has 153,000 miles. Still no issues with my CTV transmission or engine issues.
Everything else is just normal wear.
I still have the same front light bulb from the factory 🏭
Actually, older cars have much higher chances of lasting over 100k with less running costs compared to modern counterparts. They had less things to break
@michaelqu He means 1980's prior, carburated engines that suffered fuel drip into cylinders that diluted oil on cylinder walls. Conventional motor oil that never lubricated the engine well during startup etc
I agree 💯!
Toyta, honda, mazda the best.

Japanese and Korean quality is dropping yet prices rising fast to match German rivals.

Hi Mark, PLEASE save us a cross country retirement trip. We own a 2018 a Chevy Equinox (LT)

Super Info.

So nice of you
I have Santa Fe 2017 sport AWD 2.4l , with 70k was already burning oil but luckily the manufacturer replaced the engine because was under warranty
Nice
Can you talk about Ford Ecosports? My bf has one and has had nothing but trouble with it, all by 30,000 miles😩
Someone needs to do a video on this and pressure them until they correct this…
I took mine in this summer to a GM dealer and was told they know of the recall but can’t do anything till GM comes up with a solution…
Maybe I can touch on that, seriously concerning and disappointing all in one.
If I were you I’d be more concerned about that GM LLT V6 engine and making sure you change the oil religiously. Timing chains are unforgiving on poor oil.
Is the present gen sentra having issues or are you referring to the previous generations ?
Jaguar is really Indian nowadays😅😮😮😢😢
My family has a 2015 X5 sDrive35i which is RWD with an 8-speed automatic. It has the N55 turbo straight 6 engine. We got in 2019 with only 17k miles & it now has a little over 70k miles & it's been problem free so far with regular maintenance from the dealer. I hope it will last to the 100k mile mark & past that without major problems
It will, my 2017 sDrive 35i has 156k. The transfer case was a known issue which we don’t have since we have a rear-wheel drive. I had mine since it 17k
where was that Lexus 300h made?
( same A25A engine with Camry & RAV4 ?)
You mention the Nissan Sentra but my 2017 Nissan Sentra has 120,000 Miles on it. It has given me no issues so I guess I'm the lucky one.
What is your opinion of a Maza cx5. Will it last 300,000 miles
You can throw any model of jeep chrysler or dodge that has the dreaded 3.2 or 3.6 engine
Junk
My neighbor bought a new ford ecosport, the engine has been replaced twice in 2 years of ownership, he finally traded it in on a new honda crv...
Great plan. Those are pure junk
Made in usa is garbage over pirce in junk fu. 😢
Yikes. Hope he doesn’t have the oil dilution issue on his CRV.
Timing belt's and Ford, Ford in some cases Can't even get the Chain's right, Prick hauler 🤣. Such a Great Video 🇺🇸💪.
Is the Lexus 300h engine issue related specifically to the 2020 model year or ALL model years? Thanks. This is one of the car models I was looking at to purchase, but will cross it off if all model years. Thanks!
I’m glad I bought a new RAV4 gas only model in 2021. No problems just regular maintenance. FJB 🖕🇨🇳

2018 EcoSport 2.0 AWD 160,000 miles purge valve only issue
Hang on its a bumpy ride
The Lexus ES300h has a 6 year/70K powertrain warranty. The Euros only go 4 yr 50k. That Lexus gets over 40 mpg on Regular fuel. I would say most cars get expensive over 100k due to wear n tear and drying seals. The extended warranty companies love Lexus. The Euros not so much.
Yikes. I hate to see the Ecosport on here lol. My mom bought one new a couple years ago, has the 3 cyl but only has 16k on it so far. The engine light is already on for a problem with it warming up to slowly 🤷♂️ she bought it without me knowing 😢 all I own is Japanese lol, old pathfinder, a Scion iM 6sp and a toyota CH-R. Hopefully it lasts, I maintain it.
Ford 3 cylinder...ouch.
The Ford Eco Boom engine, awful engine.
She should have gotten the 4 cylinder. I have one and with 90k miles 5 years own. I done to it nothing else but oil changes and brake pad changes.

Good choice on the CHR . Although discontinued, very under estimated in quality build reliable and the handling’s

No fiat chrysler on your list? That's odd 😅
Every time you punch that camera, I expect my screen to crack! 😄
"The amazing oval of despair." I've never heard it put quite this way.
Thanks so much for the comment and yes the Tesla values follow the value of the vehicle, a slow and ready decline to oblivion
Japanese aluminium engines will never last 100,000 miles. They corode so much in 6:32 the cylinder block that the whole engine has to be replaced. It happened both in my Toyota (90,000km+) and Dihatsu (145,000 km+). Too bad I learned too late.
What model & year Toyota?
Hilarious! Thanks for the video!
That X5 exhaust note is similar to Honda exhausts at 1am
Nice
Concerning the airbag suspension example on that BMW--both BMW and Mercedes should subscribe to the motto of "Just because you CAN do it (adding so-called "features") doesn't mean you SHOULD".
Just convert it to a regular shock
@@PGXPPR You're correct of course, but owners shouldn't have to fix this piece of designer over-engineering.
Right! I think the 2, 3, and 4 series are BMWs most reliable models and happen to be the least overly engineered (within the brand at least) models. Sometimes, less is more.

There is a bit of a reputation I. Some cases
I have a 2016 cx-9 and I’m 500 miles from 100k with no issues
What do you think about the V8 that's in the Audi RS6 Avant? I'm considering purchasing the performance model.
I use to have one a 2017 model with full Audi Dealer service history and I wouldn't buy another yes it's fast and handles beautifully but in the last 18 months of owning it I had to spend £7500 on it including timing chain, coil packs, injectors, PCV system and some other bit and pieces and it only had 59,850 miles on it when these parts failed. If you do buy one make sure you have a rainy day pot for maintenance and repairs ready to go as they are very expensive to run.
Are the Kias made in Mexico better than the made in USA ones?

I thought Lexus was one of the best luxury car brands to buy for reliability and longevity and good resale value? It is a glorified Toyota. I would buy one, but I love my Toyota.
Better bang for buck with the Toyota as many engines are available on both brands

I think I'll purchase a sexy Italian Alfa-Romeo then.
plz make a video 10 Cars That goes +100,000 Miles!

Don't forget anything that says
Eco Tech (GM) EcoBoost Ford.
It can be for well if properly designed and executed but few outside of Porsche or Ferrari can pull that off
@ECPP Yes, only Porsche design is the best they mount the Turbos away from the engines.
