How did your friend over paid for a G70 in 2022? The G70 wasn't that popular. For Genesis their SUV are very popular and people paid over sticker, but not their sedans. I bought a new G70 last year in GTA and paid sticker and basically got free winter wheels and tires.

Always, always, ALWAYS....research your target vehicle THOROUGHLY.... BEFORE you buy it! It only took me getting stuck with one nasty LEMON just ONE TIME, when I was 19 y/o and I told myself never again, and I have vigorously researched each and every car I'm considering ever since. That was one expensive lesson, filled with breakdown after breakdown, suspension repair upon suspension repair, etc., and it will NEVER happen again.

I'm been watching all your great videos, though I get the impression that every single vehicle out there no matter what.. has issues, even the better vehicles out there have issues too, plus is it true that the same two vehicles for example.. two Corolla's exact same trim and everything, one might be a "Lemon" and the other could last throughout those same issues. if you see what I mean?
Thanks very much for the support and yes most vehicles have issues, so e worse than others but tbh Lexus is boring to talk about because there is really not much wrong to talk about there.
What do people expect from a jeep that is cheap ? The compass is just a renowned Fiat with SUV characteristics. I have seen many of them here in Germany lately especially with the 1.6 multijet diesel engines with 130hp and 320nm of torque. Its fine for what it is. But people shouldn't expect much from a car that is a bargain CUV compared to some other brands.
By the time a Tesla Y is on the car lot, 250 tons of CO2 is already in the atmosphere from the production of that car. A internal combustion cars only 105 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere from the build of that car
I strongly disagree with your comments on the Nissan Altima, I have a 2019 Altima SR and it's been a relatively trouble free car. Mine has about 35,000 miles and I'm averaging around 33mpg . The CVT is not designed to be a burnout transmission it's made for fuel economy and it does that very well. Mine shifts smoothly and the biggest problem is people who don't maintain it by changing the fluid and filter in the CVT before 50,000. miles
To many plastic on today's cars even they are putting plastic intake that is crazy. So i have 97 Toyota Camry still in mint condition it seems that car never dies.
My 2018 BMW X3 was flawless during the 5 years I owned it. There was one recall on radiator cooling louvre actuators and I replaced the tires. My 2018 was so perfect I purchased a 2023 X3 M40i to replace it. In 1986 I made the mistake of buying a Jeep Cherokee, by far the worst car I ever owned. In fact, it was so bad it was the last American car (parts come from Mexico) I ever owned.
Range Rovers are the new choice of the Rich & Stupid who formally bought only BMW, Lexus & Volvo SUVs as status symbols. I'm sorry but anyone realistically planning on keeping any vehicle for years after the warranty is finished.... Toyota, Honda, (and to a slightly lesser extent), Mazda. KIA and Hyundai are perfectly fine if you lease. But long-term ownership is a nightmare! Anyone who swears by either brand, ask them if they leased them or bought them. If they bought, ask how long they kept them. Anything German, forget it! (Yes that includes Mini made by BMW.) Anything Italian? Skip it! (Fiat.) Anything American, again; forget it! (Dad loved his Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. He was a GM loyalist back in the 1980s. Yeah, he sure as heck wouldn't be one today. Sad to say.) Want luxury? Lexus (and to a lesser extent), Acura. Main issue with Infinity is the same one with Nissan. Jatco transmission. Horribly unreliable.
I've had my 2018 Subaru WRX for over 5 years, it's past warranty. These are not even known as reliable vehicles...but I can assure you I will spend less owning this WRX than I would doing 2 or 3 leases. Long term ownership is gonna be a lot worse for my WRX than it would be for a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord (I have owned both of those btw, great cars). I could not mod my car if I was leasing, I could not customize it. Leasing sucks in general, it's just the only way to not bankrupt yourself if you wanna drive a BMW or whatnot.
I would stay away from them all, except Mazda. They are all quite boring and thus hard to keep this long, Mazda at least focuses somewhat on better driving dynamics and their cars don't look like botox injections went wrong (looking at you, Toyota). Hyundai/Kia are just a bit too risky. They are notorious for vital component failure, also for how easy they are to steal. The only real downside to Mazdas is that they still haven't properly figured out rust protection (tbf same applies to Honda), so you better go to shop to apply anti-corossive undercoat, but besides that, they are solid.
A relative of mine who doesn’t know anything about cars bought a BMW like the first one on the video. All he thinks is that he will gain “social status”.
I hate little economic cars, great on gas but the drive sucks and the suspensions are weak, and most just don't last long due too low quality materials used
Ford used its Flathead engine for twenty years. I'm not saying that it was the greatest engine ever, but it would seem that 'tried and true' is far better than a pipe dream that falls apart after 40K miles.
My 11' Compass rides like a tin can? Road noise is an issue, even with new tires? The throttle response is all over the place? Seems to want to lurch under slight acceleration? The CVT is horrible at only 58K? The engine is very reliable, no oil consumption issues yet? The AC compressor crapped out at only 30K? The TIPM was supposed to fix the trans issue, didn't do anything, but fix the alarm system? The steering has as a power steering whine constantly from the pump? There is a noticeable clunk in the steering rack at approximately half way turned to the left, and the pump makes noise? Have never owned a vehicle with so many issues, that was dealer serviced before it was passed down from my wife's 90 year old grandparents and I'm a master mechanic? Will be doing the trans filter and service, but not expecting much from the horribly performing CVT, since it has been getting worse from receiving it at only 24K till now at 58K?
Hi, what are your thought about the 2016 Hyundai Genesis with the 3.8L V6 Lambda II GDi? Are they reliable and what are the common problems that occur with these cars and engines? Thank you.
You really have to keep an eye on the valve adjustments. This engine does not have the automatic valve adjustments like most modern engines, and therefore require that you at least check it every 60,000 miles.
This has got to be one of the most negative car channels I have ever seen. I have watched 6 videos so far and all of them are negative.. I think I am not going to buy a car now
I walk into a dodge dealer. when I saw the price tag on a jeep Cherokee L for 65k, I walk away. it's nice but knowing the history of JEEP SUV, we had to walk away.
Mark, when your friends ask about BMWs, why not tell them to buy two? Then they have one car for driving, while the other car will be repaired! What is the problem? I have two X3s, one 2008 20d and one 2011 30d, and try to drive as little as possible... 😂 The less I drive the more I save the invironment, too. It's a win-win situation "for all". The main rule is, if you buy certain brands, try to drive as little as possible, then they last longer! Another thing... You know that Tesla mY is "by far" the most sold BEV model in the world! It will be interesting to see how the Tesla authorised shops can solve the problems they face. But at the end an important thing for the/many owners are the costs per mile/kilometer.
Hyundai/Genesis/KIA straight are relatively bad vehicles. All try to make up for the mediocre to bad drivetrains with handsome to overly designed exteriors and interiors. They’re not cheap anymore either due to them dumping a lot of $$$$ on marketing and advertising.
Can I ask have you owned a Hyundai/Genesis or Kia? I have a 2016 Santa Fe and 2018 Genesis G80 Sport. Both have never let me down and have been reliable. We did own a 2017 Kia Optima...it was a lemon. Neighbour had the same car and it has over 100k miles.

Money pits for sure. The real issue is a lot of the people buying these don't really have that much money they just want to appear as though they do and then end up bankrupting themselves lol.
What is up with vehicles these day consuming so much more oil then usual like yikes, brutal times for vehicles this day in age, nothing but crap products out there I’d say. These car companies can keep there BS creations.
It’s because they’re all turbo. The increase pressure in the engine wears everything out more quickly than in naturally aspirated engines. So poorly designed cylinder blocks have their head gaskets leak, or oil channels in the engine become clogged with carbon and oil leaks back into the cylinders, or oil pan gaskets and valve cover gaskets wear out at 50k miles instead of 150k. I’ve done my best to never buy a turbo engine, and so far I haven’t, but I think they will be impossible to avoid in a few years…

Wow...I bought a new Camry in 2005. I drove that car 15 years with 218,000 miles. The car NEVER used nor dripped ONE DROP OF ANYTHING! Even the AC never had to be serviced! Then I hear about the shitty quality of cars nowadays and I can't believe it!
Yes things really have changed, and not for the best
17 yrs ago considered a Bimmer. Instead I bought a Subie Forester with MT. It's still going with no major problems.
This man knows his cars. Everyone should listen to his videos. You can save a ton of money. He's dropping nothing but gems.
How did your friend over paid for a G70 in 2022? The G70 wasn't that popular. For Genesis their SUV are very popular and people paid over sticker, but not their sedans. I bought a new G70 last year in GTA and paid sticker and basically got free winter wheels and tires.
Hey Mark, I was wondering if you have a short sleeve shirt with your "life's too short..." motto. I only see a long sleeve shirt, I live in Hawaii and long sleeves are too hot here. Love the channel and content, keep up the good work.
Lease BMWs and Mercedes only unless you are mechanically inclined.
fantastic video. Mark you can do dedicated video about BMW X3M and X3m40i ?
APPRECIATE ALL YOUR VIDEOS BRO
Would a used Merc C class be better choice? Or belong to junk car?
Thanks Mark
The Spark is a Daewoo. A partnership with GM
Nice video mate
Thanks for the visit
Always, always, ALWAYS....research your target vehicle THOROUGHLY.... BEFORE you buy it! It only took me getting stuck with one nasty LEMON just ONE TIME, when I was 19 y/o and I told myself never again, and I have vigorously researched each and every car I'm considering ever since. That was one expensive lesson, filled with breakdown after breakdown, suspension repair upon suspension repair, etc., and it will NEVER happen again.
Friends don’t let friends buy Chrysler/ Stalantas anything, ever🏖️
PSA are TOP overseas they sells numbers .
Normally - I would agree.
But I have a 2014 Chrysler 200 that surprisingly hasn't been bad. Bought it in 2015 with 30k miles and it now has 234k in 2023. Other than replacing the alternator and starter (and basic maintenance) it hasn't given me many problems. It is a pain in the butt to do basic repairs thought
I use Marvel's mystery oil in my Fiat 500x Trekking, Tiger shark engine still going strong, except for the update they did, before was a little better!
Why doesn't everyone just drive a 04' Corolla like me and then stockpile money?
Life is too short to buy overpriced cars
Money is just paper or digits unless you spend it. You only being young once.
Life is also too short to drive boring cars (like Corolla)
@@RRLV434 why is Corolla the number one seller of all time then?
Because my 98 Camry and 2000 tundra won’t die!
If they did that your Corolla would have cost triple so be glad everyone isn't. Not only that, it's an incredibly boring vehicle to drive. I drove a boring Camry for about 7 years to pile up money when I was low income..but I'm not low income any longer so I no longer drive boring cars.
Your friends are so fortunate to have you for great advice on buying a car. It's hard to believe that they didn't listen. I'd be seeking you out before buying a car. Thx Mark for the great content.
Great review Mark ✌️🇺🇸
Well sir I've got news for you I bought a 2016 spark new model used 4 years ago I put two 114000 on it it just a battery tires brakes and recently a water pump where can you get a car for $180 a month it gets 40 miles to a gallon and that reliable the newer South Korean Daewoo cars are a lot better than they used to be that's why Buick and Chevys newer small cars are made there mile marker Mikey Trenton Michigan run across the river from Canada ever hear that place? You know Windsor!
I’ll never buy turbo cars
That's fair, they have a lot more problems in general. I love my WRX but I know what I'm in for long term lol.
@@Ziegfried82Alot more moving parts
I have a 2013 328i, so far I guess I have been lucky and have not had any of those problems yet.
The genesis will be fairly reliable if your friend is taking care of it
True.
I stay away from all European used cars and even some Hyundai KIA used cars altogether. However from my own experience, BMW has the best customer service before and after warranty.
When they charge that much for customer service and are blessed with many, many opportunities to do so, how could they not be the best?
It looks like same pair of friends. Neglected their cars and had lots of problems. And then they got Tesla which had a "gap issue", it means probably 1-2 mm difference.
Just bought a 335i e92 with 20k miles! Wonder what issues i will face🙏🙏🤑🤑
on the f30 3 series the 328's had the n20 while the 330's had the b48.
It's amazing how many people don't even know it's not even Jeep anymore. It's basically just a FIAT. And FIAT make terrible cars....
By the time a Tesla Y is on the car lot, 250 tons of CO2 is already in the atmosphere from the production of that car. A internal combustion cars only 105 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere from the build of that car
Exactly
Great point. The myth that EVs are saving the environment is just that .....a myth.
Mine shifts smoothly and the biggest problem is people who don't maintain it by changing the fluid and filter in the CVT before 50,000. miles
20:03 stay away from Jeep products? even the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited?
Yes, stay away from Jeep for sure.
my Pacifica installed while driving on highway.....got rid of it
Yikes
To many plastic on today's cars even they are putting plastic intake that is crazy. So i have 97 Toyota Camry still in mint condition it seems that car never dies.
Thoughts on Nissan Pathfinders? I always feel like those are an outlier and, besides the 2013-2014 models, are considered pretty good?
Something different but honestly not as good as a competitor as in the 4Runner by Toyota
Stinger\G70 3.3 T engine probably most sold engine KIA and Genesis!
Is in the G90too from 17-22 but tuned for comfort. I believe the older G80 got it too ;the G80 sport.
@MrGeezil Yes. I have a 2018 G80 Sport. Love it.
What's your opinion about in line 6 3.0 diesel engine from Cadillac.
Sounds like a decent run
Do a video on trucks f150 8 cylinders and 6 cylinders 3.5 ecoboost Silverado, ram, titan , gmc . Thanks
You bet
you need to calm down on the camera work, it's just a bit much.
I'll never understand why people keep range rovers, unless you have an ungodly amount of money to dump into it
Range Rovers are the new choice of the Rich & Stupid who formally bought only BMW, Lexus & Volvo SUVs as status symbols. My business partner's son is a RR mechanic at a Florida dealership His service department has all the work they can possibly handle, and he's shocked as to how many fairly new RRs return over and over for problems.
They look cool
That's why the British Royals only ride in them..
I dont understand the G70 regret, they are known for reliability
Some say
@@ECPP I surely cant find many bad reviews, in the many many great reviews, unlike my 06 E350, worst car ive owned
3.3 T is a reliable engine. Genesis are a good brand.
The one thing I learned this man has never met a side mirror he doesn’t like. ❤😂
Nice video! Im looking at a 94 S320 , Anything to keep an eye on due to it's age ?
What year is the X5 ?
Did they have a warranty? Doesn’t the dealership fix the problems
Dude spends 24/7 walking around dealerships filming himself. 😂
Not quite, but he does for the videos, and it pays off.
Dude doesn't skip his leg days
He’s a joke. I suspect he films the videos at dawn and is chased off the dealer lots once employees show up. Only info is gossip from his so-called friends.
Did you ever review the Ford Maverick truck?
That hot v in Edmonton would be a melted v in Phoenix !
Do not buy any of these newer, unreliable vehicles ever.
A relative of mine who doesn’t know anything about cars bought a BMW like the first one on the video. All he thinks is that he will gain “social status”.
U sure know a lot of people with cars! 🚗 😂😂
Thank you.
I'd say reliable. From a Genesis owner
I’ll second the reliability. From a Hyundai owner.
You really have to keep an eye on the valve adjustments. This engine does not have the automatic valve adjustments like most modern engines, and therefore require that you at least check it every 60,000 miles.
Car like that one caught on fire at my job while parked.
Ouch
A stylish vehicle is nothing if it’s not dependable.
That’s fair. One can look pretty cool standing roadside next to the McLaren waiting for the tow truck driver
This has got to be one of the most negative car channels I have ever seen. I have watched 6 videos so far and all of them are negative.. I think I am not going to buy a car now
Good stuff Mark
I walk into a dodge dealer.
when I saw the price tag on a jeep Cherokee L for 65k, I walk away.
it's nice but knowing the history of JEEP SUV, we had to walk away.
What is your opinion on a 2018 bmw m4 with 35,000 km
Don't some CRV 's have oil consumption issues? Why aren't you mentioning that.
What if I upgrade the cooling system on the v8 turbo bmw will that help?
Mark, when your friends ask about BMWs, why not tell them to buy two? Then they have one car for driving, while the other car will be repaired! What is the problem?
I have two X3s, one 2008 20d and one 2011 30d, and try to drive as little as possible... 😂
The less I drive the more I save the invironment, too.
If you gone get a jeep make sure its a 3.6 pentastar or a hemi engine those 2.4 tigershark engines are underpowered oil consumption junk
Don’t speak about reliability of vehicles you have not owned. My Hyundai has been great, more reliable than those with Toyotas in my family.
@@Blue-moon12 very irrelevant question unfortunately. You don’t need to own a vehicle to realize it definitely has its issues. Its called research. But if you want to call car reviewers and individuals complaining about those brands liars…go ahead.
@@RRLV434 ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous to even compare Hyundai to Toyota. The only advantage Hyundai has is a lower price tag...inferior in every other way. KIA same thing, not even in the same league. Maybe if you want to compare Hyundai with Nissan, Mitsubishi or something sure.
@joelsoto1849 It's like calling a film bad before you've even seen it, but critics have slammed it. I have first hand experience which is better than any reviewer etc. Had my Genesis 5 years and no issues. So should I go around saying it's been a poor car because some reviews say so?? I am not saying ignore reviews, but you have to make your own informed decision. My brother in law works for Genesis as a technician and it was him who said Genesis are good, and hardly sees any major issues.
Its absolutely ridiculous what a Tesla costs given how shoddy the build quality often is.
Absolutely
All the vechicles you covered are cars money folks buy, goes to show money doesnt equal as smart
Not Genesis
Money pits for sure. The real issue is a lot of the people buying these don't really have that much money they just want to appear as though they do and then end up bankrupting themselves lol.
@@Ziegfried82Well said,
What is up with vehicles these day consuming so much more oil then usual like yikes, brutal times for vehicles this day in age, nothing but crap products out there I’d say.
