Dear Mr. Jon, I would like to know how many apples shall I leave on a 1 year old apple tree on M9 rootstock. Does it depend on the type of the apple tree, on the strenth/power of the tree. Thanks in advance for your replay - Cristian from Romania!
If the tree has grown well and filled it's space you could leave 5-10 apples. But if it needs to grow another year you should take all the apples off!
Always informative. What did the Hudson crash have to do with this?
Nothing other than the fact while we were doing this people were standing on the wing of a jet aircraft in the Hudson River wondering (probably) what's next?
Other than the fact a passenger jet crash-landed in the Hudson River in the middle of January and everyone survived? Nothing...
Can we plant seedlings for high density orchards and train them as tall spindle trees or is it necessary to plant dwarfing rootstocks (M.9,MM.106,M.7 etc)? Thankyou
If you plant seedlings they will get to big. Also root quality will probably vary because apples are heterogeneous(every seedling will be different)
Hello what is the tree and row space
Does we need any tipping in short laterals
Cameraman, why did you keep standing behind him showing his back?
