I'm so glad you are enjoying the paper dolls. They were very fun to make. I received B.Banner's book as a Mother's Day gift. I Love it. The paper quality makes it simply delightful to touch!
You looked adorable in that outfit, it reminds me of Christmas when I was a kid and we would watch "Babes in Toyland". I am so glad you were able to find long gloves that fit you. A few years ago I knitted long lace gloves for my eldest who is plus sized because they had Klondike days up north and she was a volunteer and had to dress up. Like you said there were only tacky polyester that split after one wearing. I couldn't even find a plus sized pattern so I had to figure it out myself.
Ugh, you as Kirsten is ADORABLE! Kirsten was one of my favorites, along with Josefina, Addy, Felicity, Kaya, and Samantha. Also it's super great seeing you so thrilled over the gloves! And I knew I had to pre-order Bernadette's book, it's such a great resource, and I got mine through thriftbooks
Lovely!! It is just perfect. I have been obsessed with the idea of making modern remakes of the historic AG doll dresses - I just made a cottage core sundress with fabric inspired by Kristen’s first dress, and can’t wait to pair it with a red gingham headband and amber heart necklace for the ultimate coordinating look.
I got super excited when you showed the gloves, I remember you talking about not finding any that fit, I'm so glad you finally found a place! 💖 And this whole outfit is so cute together, plus I love the changes you made to adapt it to human size!
As someone with nonstandard-proportioned hands, I lived vicariously through your joy at GLOVES THAT FIT!!! A rare and special treat!! And OMG did that ever turn out cute, loved you running across the meadow, frigging adorable
Does it make you happy? Do you look fantastic? Did you showcase your skills and also the solving of various issues, thus teaching us a lot? Yes, yes, yes, and oh boy you are amazing. Well done! We need more sweet and wholesome these days, and this whole series was that exactly.
This came out so nicely. It's kind of funny how hard it is to keep things in proportion when enlarging. It's so much harder than you would think it should be. Good Job!
Wow that’s lovely! Everything turned out so beautifully. Your joy shines through. Also those gloves! Both pairs are stunning. I’m ignoring the links! But have taken note of them for further reference
Cute!! Kirsten has always been my favorite American Girl. I’ve found that Felicity and Josephine are my second favorites. We Texans have been suffering in the heat….drought, over 100° for over a month…..wildfires….80 something degrees sounds like a dream.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! Glad you had a good visit with Noelle. I know it was really warm at the end of June, but it was perfect that you found one of the sunny days to do the photo shoot. Thank you as all for all these amazing videos.
Wow, turned out great. Glad to know I'm not the only one who questions and overthinks what I'm doing. I appreciate the explanation of how you made the apron. I have something similar coming up in my project list where I'm recreating from images. Thanks.
A pretty outfit, and you look so relaxed and comfortable in it. I was thinking it looked very cottage core. I must admit I had never heard of American Girl Dolls / Books until you have mentioned them. Coming from Australia, I just knew the Barbie dolls. Maybe next time you have an American Doll photoshoot, you hold up the matching book cover as well.
So pretty, you look just like Kirsten! The white gloves are the perfect length and look very comfortable; buy more and in colors. 😄 Have a great week, xoxo's Sandie
Yes, you can actually find all of the doll clothing patterns online too. When I made Samantha's cloak earlier this year, I started with the doll pattern, and sized it up to fit me.
Do like your sleeves. Stinking cute. Maybe now you have a pinafore over the dress, you could add sleeve supports to hold them in a big puff? Would look magnificent
@@LadyRebeccaFashions they do. Wasn't meaning otherwise, just had in mind huge sleeves lol. With your height (which I am well jealous of) you can carry it off. Looking amazing
I LOVE AMERICAN GIRL. My parents still have two boxes full of American Girl stuff....There's a living history museum in ther city I live and when we went there for a week camp for girl scouts, you bet I made my dress look like Kirsten's
I love how this turned out! You look absolutely adorable ☺️ Im Australian so I only know of American Girl dolls from the odd reference to them in film, books and TikTok’s that I come across, but it seems popular enough that I definitely think people will recognise who you are at ComicCon :)
Thank you! Yes, I'm hoping people will recognize it. I was quite surprised that at I was walking into the park, an older lady turned to me and said she knew exactly who I was, even without seeing the doll!
The opera gloves was good but the green ones is just 🤩🤩🤩! They definitely need a outfit to match💚💚💚 I feel you did fantasticly in translating the doll/child dress to a dress for a real life female! Is there any reason you called this a pinafore and not a apron? I would call this a apron... I think I remember my gran having a apron that looked a lot like this..... I'm really enjoying this series, you look like you are having so much fun doing this💜 but it's going to be fun seeing your scary tech project to! Until next time, greetings from Norway!
Thank you! I think the main reason I called this a pinafore is because that's what American Girl calls it. But to be honest, I'm not sure where that line is between pinafores and aprons, and I think there's probably a fair bit of overlap. My guess is it has something to do with how much coverage the garment has, but I'm not really sure.
I was terrified of washing silk until recently. If you can find a silk that is hand-washable you should be fine throwing it in a cold delicate cycle in a laundry bag. Gently stretch it back into shape as needed and lay flat to dry. I love the texture of silk, but I won't go to the dry cleaners for 1 day of wear.
Love the dress! :D I have no idea what those American girls thing is since I'm from Iceland but I still enjoy your videos about them :) I'm a bit sad though you no longer post on Saturdays haha. We've been spoilt for so long! :D
@@LadyRebeccaFashions oh I can believe that! I totally understand it, like I said, we were spoilt! 😅 But I'm glad you post on Tuesdays though. Most release videos during the weekend so it's great to get a new video during the week as well. Thank you so much for all of this! Makes my days much better and I've learnt a lot! 😊😊
I haven't watched it all yet, but the pocket problem could have easily been taken care of, with some slits you can put your hands through to get to the pockets in the dress below, right? Anyways, I love your videos! 😁
You're late.😉 Midsummer was a couple of weeks ago (the flower crown is a Swedish midsummer tradition) and "Kirsten" are supposed to be from here. Fun fact, her name would probably have been Kerstin and not Kirsten, as Kirsten is the danish version of the name, if she would have been a real girl that is. I had a dress and pinafore like that as a kid, you put the waist to far down, that's why you couldn't get the front angles right.
Just because Kirsten's birthday and midsummer were last month, doesn't mean this can only be worn then. Also, I finished this last month anyway. And I put the waist of the pinafore exactly where I wanted it -- at my waist.

Aww, yes, it was so sweet of her to send them! ☺️
I love seeing you so happy over the gloves! Not only do you need a backup, you need a backup to the backup, ala Mr. Monk. lol

Woo! All the love for the Kirsten doll! When I was a kid, this the only thing ever that had my name on it :)
As a German I have absolutely no idea who this Kirsten is, but your outfit looks supercute. Cottagecore dreams indeed!
Kirsten is the name of the doll whose outfit Rebecca recreated.
So cute!!

🎶 Ribbons down your back this summer 🎶
I"m curious why you added more pockets to the pinafore and not just put slits in it to access the dress pockets underneath?
To be honest, I didn't even think of slits! I did think of the idea of not having to carry much of a bag at comicon, though. 😉
when I was a girl American girl company used to have patterns for some of their fashion especially the historical characters @ladyrebecca

I just went and acquired some of the gloves--hard to find any that are long enough to fit my abnormally long arms! Thanks for the tip! :)

Thank you for the glove recommendation! Mine arrived today and they're so nice.

Yeah, I hope they have another sale soon! As soon as they do, I'm buying a spare pair.

Precious!
There's probably a good reason but why not put slits in the pinafore to reach through to the skirt pockets?
To be honest, I hadn't thought of it! But also I'm hoping that with four pockets, I might not have to carry a purse for comicon.
