I agree 100% with Lewis. I did not have high expectations this season. Top 4 was the goal, and it's still possible. And many of the criticisms against sarri are valid and right. But I completely agree about turning in the manager too quickly and then people crying for stability. One full season. A few months into the second season, that's when I say cut the losses if things don't improve.
the issue people have with sari isn't just his style of play but how poor of a manager he looks at times from squad selection to in game management. I understand if we are struggling the system but there is no excuse for playing the same squad week in week out regardless the "lack of motivation".
Although its time the club start to turn on the board before the manager for once otherwise this trend will continue with the next.
Yeah , at least give him full season + until December of 2019 , if things don't improve until then , i would be ok to sack him , but i feel we could really build an amazing team with Sarri

We can't build a fantastic team without using the youths which he refuses to do. We have to use players like reece james next season which 100% wont happen.

Poor in game management, no plan b, the same substitutions regardless of the result(the last one being bizarre to say the least), and the lack of faith in our youth (the ones who are supposed to be our future). Are we seriously going to back a man who rather focus on already finished players over giving talented prospects who are better than them like CHO a chance? If we were struggling but I could see progress in Sarri's methodology then yes, I would be on board to back him but he's given us the exact opposite. Give him the players he wants and when things go south these same issues will resurface. He simply is not tactically flexible and has no place being the manager we build a project around. I want us to finally have a long term manager but no, Sarri is not that one.

I’ve been wanting Sarri to stay but it really looks like he is trying to get himself fired. Same formation, same players, same substitutes. It makes absolutely no sense when the defense is leaking goals all over and the attack is completely toothless game after game. Its not really serious anymore.

Finally someone said it. We don't create anything from set pieces, where you see from bottom half of the table teams, scores more from set pieces than us.
It's difficult to back a manager who doesn't have a plan B, like if we winning the instructions is to pass the ball, if we drawing the instruction is to pass the ball, if we losing the instruction is to pass the ball faster. People like mentioning how pep and klopp play their brand of football, but what they forget to mention is that when it's going wrong the solution is to first stop leaking goals, being precautionary age getting control of the game back, changing formation, it basically doing something different, it's not smart to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result especially when its not working

I used to like support Sarri, but I've realized his understanding of football doesn't suit the fast pace, ever changing dynamic of PL.
So, why would the board give Sarri the funding when he doesn't play CHO, plays Alonso over Emerson, Christensen and Cahill always on the bench, brings in Zappacosta for Azpi when we're down 0-2, and plays only 1 striker when we're losing.
Let's be honest here, Sarri has no idea what he's doing. The Chelsea job is wayyyy over his abilities.

Agreed. Many fans were getting spoilt, forgetting that he won a PL title after we finished 10th previous season. That was a remarkable feat but didn't get his due credit. His 2nd season was down to poor transfers and failure to capture top targets. If the board were proactive at least we would've secured top 4.
@G. Nius He won the FA Cup in his 2nd season and 5th place finish in PL isn't all that bad. Despite not having the backing of the board and having to deal with average players like Alonso, Moses, Morata, Zappacosta, Emerson, Drinkwater, Barkley, Musonda, etc., he still managed the team well and also got the best out of young players like Christensen and Ampadu.
Yet it's fans like you who wouldn't see beyond and look at the bigger issues at this club. Why should we sign mediocre players. It's a disgrace to have players like Carroll, Barnes, etc., linked to a big club like Chelsea?

I remember at the start of the season when they bought Jorginho and kovacic Chelsea fans were saying they have the best midfield in the prem. now they have the worst midfield in the prem
The issue is the lack of creativity, and that stems from the formation personally. Teams just put everyone behind the ball and we just can't break them down, yet these sets of players have proven they can play creative football in the past. 4-3-3 is a terrible formation, simply because it doesn't give you proper attacking or wide midfielders. Jorginho's not strong or aggressive enough to play in that position. Kante's playing in an attacking role which is the worst part of our team, we're not only losing his defensive ability, but are lacking creativity with him there. Full backs also need replacing, Azpilicueta is a good defender, but he's poor attacking option. Alonso has his good games, but he just can't beat a man and sometimes gets beaten way too easily. Formation needs to change, Kante needs to go back to CDM at the very least for anything good to happen for us. We just can not leave Jorginho as the sole CDM, he can't do that in the PL. I say 4-2-3-1 with Kante and Kovacic in midfield and Hazard, Willian and Pedro as the LW, CAM and RW. That way we have defensive cover and the best possible attacking option in our team. But this won't happen, I just don't see Sarri changing the formation or Jorginho, which are the two biggest problems in my eyes. We have to give him time since this is the first manager we've actually backed, but I just don't see it working, there are too many dysfunctional elements within the team.

I'm gonna have to agree with Lewis, we can't keep on sacking managers we need to learn how to get behind the manager even if we're losing.
Lewis is right. We are where we are and have to stick it out. However, Sarri does need to either embrace some tactical flexibility or introduce different players from the pool of players that he has, as the same players are repeatedly below par.

As a non-Chelsea fan, no piss taking or disrespect, but looking at Sarri's managerial career, I'm now quite surprised Chelsea appointed a manager not known for winning trophies. You could argue once he gets the right players (if he is given the time, doubtful) than we'll see his finished article but for a club as ruthless as Chelsea, if you don't make a convincing statement sooner rather than later, than you're determined as not good enough.

I don’t get why people are saying back sarri. He spent 60 mil on Jorginho, 70 mil on kepa and he got the striker he wanted in January. I feel like it’s his philosophy which isn’t working.
