  • In this video, I review the AC240's important specifications and features and show various ways I will use/test it on our boating adventures. I plan to use it as a backup to my boat's existing off-grid power system, which consists of traditional batteries, an inverter/charger, a solar controller, etc.
I'll use a pair of 100W solar panels to keep the 1536Wh LiFePO battery pack topped up and use it when I need to power things outside. Another plan is to use it for our electric water heater. I can plug our shore power cord into the Bluetti and heat water for showers and dishes without depleting our main boat battery bank.
So far, I'm more than impressed with the new AC240 model. If you want to dive deep into all the features and specs, here is a link to the Bluetti AC240 Page. Stay tuned, and in a few months, I'll be back with part two and let you know how it performed over a longer term.
Fair Disclosure: I received a review sample free of charge. I received no money and maintained full editorial control over the video content.

Nothing you could do to this box will top the "GenTent" test you did a few years ago! I still laugh when I think about that.

How about salt water which is a different animal than rain?

If you ever got a good splash of salt water I'd rinse it with fresh. Up on the flybridge should be high enough to avoid any salt water. We never have had salt spray that high being mostly fair weather boaters. Could be covered for storms but I'd just take it inside if we needed to ride one out.

    Not much for capacity.

I guess the high output charger and inverter take a lot of room and weigh a fair bit limiting how big the LiFePo4 pack and still be portable. The AC300 model doesn't even have a battery pack and needs the external ones to work.
