Best LS swap I have ever seen was a 2004 Land Rover Discovery with 60k miles. The original motor warped heads and was toast. My man's put in a LS2 I believe, 2006 GTO motor 6.0L, and even incorporated the auto transmission that goes with it. He was not able to 4wd though as he said it would have been much more work.THe car is still running to this day in Ocala, Fl. It has a small 2inch lift and 33s on it. The thing is mean and surprisingly smooth considering what it is.
400hp reliable Discovery Series 2.
Only issue is the gearing in rear end, but I am sure he fixed it by now.
Other cool ones are the Volvo LS swap, Miata, RX7 2nd gen, 944, and Jaguars.
I would love a monster miata. I spend 15k getting 400hp out my 944 turbo and if I could do it again I would have bought a Renegade Hybrids kit and a crate motor.

@@mithritades I'm mainly talking about the electronics part of it, the GM ecm talking to the jeep gauge cluster and such, that need more support, because I'll do a ls in my Vic and Leroy twin turbo it

That's true, because Chrysler couldn't even make the Chrysler modules work!
It's all actually not too complicated. They use Canbus. The chrysler gauges most likely Canbus so you make a translator from ls ecu to chrysler gauges
"I didn't do it for the vehicle, I build data bus conversion modules", I like this guy!
But he didn't want to spend Wrangler money on it.
Sounds like the mail truck just got done installing extra neutrals

That Jeep Liberty was so much more than an LS swap. Deserves more detail on how it works. And I dont think I'd consider replacing cam bearings as making it a "whole new engine" (mail truck)
He's saying they had it completely rebuilt after he found the cam bearings were bad

The mid-engine Corvair van was pretty damn trick, but I've always had a soft spot for that goofy thing. Its like Chevy's version of the VW hippie bus, but it never got the same sort of love/level of collectibility those have.
Awesome video! Some awesome stuff! That '63 Corvair Corvan is freaking awesome! Even has the fairly rare and very desirable forward control buckets! So cool. Kudos to all these awesome LS swapped rides! That '77 Cadillac Coupe Deville in the background is killer too! Great video, thanks for sharing!

As a mail carrier, can I just say how hilarious it is that even with a crammed 6.0 LS, the LLV still only runs a 17, and runs it like shit at that. Talk a out throwing a brick into the wind.
Seems he had problems with trans, so if that's sorted then it would be in 15s probably?

I wish I was there1 I could have been a contender for the top 10 list with the B2200! I have to be honest, I am a Corvair guy from way back, so those are my favorite LS swaps. Hats off to all the folks LS swapping! They are all excellent!

Probably the gearing on the thing is stupid high since those typically came with a 2.2L and they're used to haul weight around(mail). could've also been a shifting error while going down the track, who knows.
I was expecting overnite delivery but all we got was pony express
Something was going on with the tranny shifting. Need to fine tune it and it’ll haul more than mail!

I have a subaru wagon in the yard with a blown engine, a 5.3 on a stand, and a 6.0 that needs a cam and lifters. Could make it work and get stupid with it.
Carb it and put a th400 in it make it rwd
@@tommys2979 If I can get s of the other stuff done around here, like short box C10 and C1500 swaps, a pro street 68 Firebird, 68 LeMans sleeper, and a pair of Opel GTs one with Pontiac power the other probably Ls power, then I might do the subaru.. but is fun to think about.

It broke the bolts for the ADAPTER PLATE going from BWM to Chevy pattern (it was still attached to the wheel) ---- Those are illegal in almost every type of racing, and now you can see why

We did a LS swapped postal LLV and ran it at Atco a few times. I bought it for the S-10 parts because it was cheap and ran it while I was looking for a clean square body S10 with a 5.3 and about a 100 shot before the rear grenaded.
It brings the world together when people are so creative.

That shaggin wagon, that's a 6.0 from that avalanche. 07 and 08 6.0 came as an option, all aluminum block, vette heads stock. Closest cousin is the gto 6.0. Only the avy had displacement on demand, and variable cam timing.

As an LS4 Impala ss owner, I love the twinpala! I had the idea of twin engine when I picked it up 2 years back, but I have little to no money lol and not enough mechanical knowledge to do it... If they put better suspension and do some 4t80 swaps they can easily be running less than 10secomds

Wow you definitely see some crazy builds and swaps at LS fest. I wish I could find a LS engine but in the UK there super rare ive always wanted to to a turbo LS build I have the perfect car for it to. Another thing also America has the best car events and shows ever the uk only has 1 and its at the other end of the country and the health and safety people have ruined that too.

The Chevy LS swaps are also great in RWD Chevy Caprices from 1978 to 1995, even in a 1996 Chevy Impala..
