Always in awe at how insanely clean your finished pieces are, seriously, OEM got nothing on you. Once you're done with the car you should totally bring it to shows and car meets, i'd love to see you get more recognition for your amazing work.
Cheers mate. Hopefully with this being a kit we'll see a lot of people making their own and taking them to shows all over, that would be the dream for me.
Yes, and more importantly, he is doing it in a garage by himself, not in a factory for billions, maybe with hundreds of machines workers and engineers.
Still a bit of a tease though since I didn't have time to bolt it on to the car, but we've already seen one side done already, just hold up a mirror to the screen haha.
Sanding barefoot with glass fibre is everywhere is wild 🤣🤣 Congratulations on the milestone. Been a long journey and followed it from the start. Can't wait to see it on the car permanently and painted up. Hopefully its Midnight Purple 😎👌🏻
Kiwi feet are one of the hardest substances in the world haha. And cheers mate, I'm so stoked to get all the bodywork finished up in the coming months and get some paint on it finally.
Forgot how it used to look lol! Man it looks incredible! You do some good work I wish I could wake up one day and say “ I think ima make a wide body for my car “ lol
i cant wait to see a body kit by you in the states. your work is amazing and your attention to small things is so nice. also i always thing "a little back ground music wouldn't hurt" but then as im sitting here just listening to the ambient sound... and how soothing the whole video feels. im like "man im glad there isn't any stupid music" cant wait for the next video
If you using PLA for 3D prints, it will certainly warps over time. For more durable alternatives, try PETG, relatively easy to print and it doesn't warp easily like PLA. A stronger alternatives than PETG, you can try ABS, but its harder to print than PETG. I don't know if you already know this information, but I just want to share with you. Love your builds bro!!
Not gonna lie ive thought you ginished 3 or 4 times i woulda made a mold slapped some fiberglass down sanded painted done every yime i watchs i get so lost lmao very detailed
I dont think enough people appreciate the amount of time, care, and attention you pay to every part of the process to get better than factory results from a work shed
Why? Who's talking crap? You literally just acting like people are to seem like you're virtous protecting it or something weird. Everyone that watches appreciates the fuck out of this project.
Amazing work bro. Hard work.but the attention to detail is clean As, mirror finish fibreglass😍 in your back shed/workshop. Even more keen now to grab a kit . Killing it bro, 👌
I'm surprised you don't mould some features in the back of the moulds so they sit flat on the tables. That rocking about would drive me nuts! Oh, and awesome work, as always. 👍👍
Half the rocking is the tables themselves haha. But yeah I usually have some blocks that I wedge the moulds with to keep them stable, but just didn't bother with these ones.
This is so clean, you’re gonna have a hard time convincing people that you created this kit (without showing them the videos). People are gonna think you imported some kind of rare Japan only model or something.
YES! finally everything made 💪 you make it look so easy now! plenty of practice! keep up the great work. the car needs a proper Japanese paint job, manga character down the side of some orange blossom
Regarding the 3D printed parts, if i recall correctly, you used PLA, which is rather bad for things left outside. It deforms easily under heat and is not resistant to UV or chemicals. You might wanna look into PETG Filament. Same price, a bit fineky as it has to be dried (i prefer to print it straight out of a filament dryer for most reliability), but resistant to UV, chemicals and higher temperatures (up to 70C). Also much more pleasant to sand ^^
Yeah that's the downside with PLA for sure. I have printed a few parts with PETG but I had constant issues getting it to print nicely even with a dryer box set up. For the most part it's not really an issue anymore though because I wont be using any 3D printed parts on the finished car, only for moulds. Leaving that print for like 2 months or so in a barn with skylights and no insulation was a lot to ask.
I see youre putting down the coupling coat, thickened resin in the corners, and then another layer of chopped strand all in one go - is this something youd recommend? Easy composites videos (for example) do the coupling coat first, let it cure, and then do the rest later on - seems like your way would save a lot of time!!
So I sped it up for this video but I do follow the same steps as easy composites where I spray my gelcoat usually in the evening and leave it to cure overnight, then apply the skin coat of 225 gsm in the morning, let it cure past peak exotherm before keying and de-nibbing with sandpaper and applying the main layup of 2x450gsm matt. I've experimented with doing it all in one go and if you do it right then it can save some time and a little bit of resin too, but with larger, flatter parts, there's a small risk of introducing too much heat from the 3 layers and causing it to build tensions / stresses in the part as it cures which leaves you with a warped part. Typically all the cheap fiberglass kits you see that fit like garbage are because they churn them out as quick as possible with methods like that and I always like my parts to actually fit haha.
I'm going to be keeping this build a bit cleaner than my cyberpunk mx5, so for this one I was going to spoil myself and actually have a gloss finish for once.
Can’t wait for you to start selling these, I want a set. Just bought a Stagea just to replicate what you’ve done. Trying to find gtr fenders though is a mission
My goal is to have them up for sale by the end of the year / early next year. The only parts you'll need to source yourself will be the bonnet, headlights, and any GTR front bumper.
As you moulded the front arches (fenders) as one piece how come you didn’t smooth over the “bolt on flares” would be mounting points? Awesome work, bet you’re relieved the finish line is in sight 😎🤜💥🤛
Dude, the quality of your work is astonishing, it really is. Up there with anything I've seen done in fibreglass. Also, you get a lot of rain. Do you live on a farm?
what is the black stuff you apply directly over the mould is that gelcoat your works amazing i wish i had the confidence to give my 2013 Subaru Forester a bit of a facelift
Well Done My son,. great job, i am wondering, you are not waring protections from the ( grinding fiberglass ) is it not bothering your skin, as i try its so bad when it come on your skin , awaiting for installations and fitting with final results i am about start working on my ( 2007 ZO6 0 - 6.2 engine on it, Auto. i learned many things from you during your build, all the best wishes Tofu Auto Arts works
I personally dont find the fiberglass to be that irritating. I just blow all the dust off with compressed air when I'm done and then have a cold shower at the end of the day and I'm never itchy. Awesome to hear you starting work on your own build! Best of luck with it!
You got mad skills be sure to reuse those molds for customers or make a 2nd out of carbon . However I can smell the resin through my phone my guy. Get proper PPE. Use your full face respirator and fullsuit it with a hood . Your skin is the biggest organ. . Live longer so you can enjoy your hard work 💪🏾🔥🔥

The video we've all been waiting for.

@TofuAutoWorks I want to see it with wheels from all angles 🤩

Almost as much as Binky. 😢
Go the bloody Kiwis!! Exceptional dedication to your craft

Congrats on your actual completed parts for the stagea
Every time I think you're just about ready to finish it you start doing something that shows that you're not finished yet .
Project cars in a nutshell haha
After a long day of work, I'm stoked to get a 40 minute episode from you! Thanks!
Forgot how it used to look lol! Man it looks incredible! You do some good work I wish I could wake up one day and say “ I think ima make a wide body for my car “ lol
Your skill, tallent and patience amaze me every single video, an absoloute pleasure to watch and relax.
More than a year of hard work pays off in the end.
And the parts look really good.
I can't say I'd personally put this level of work into making a wagon. But I'm glad someone did hahahaha.

HUGE respect for your work ethic and dedication to detail. What a fantastic project and so happy to see the result. Cheers from Basalt, Colorado.
I love how the gel coat comes out looking like glass. Such good work.
Those parts look clean AF. Can't believe it's almost time to see the finished product. It's been an amazing journey!
Your work is absolutely flawless 10/10

Hahah, camera kept overheating from all these 3+ hour timelapses I had to shoot.
What a JOB man!!!!!! i'm so enjoyed by your video!!!!! precision, detail, great execution, thank sooooo much for sharing. Regards!

Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho 🚀
Please put air suspensions on this so it will give you comfort and sportiness when you decide what you want to use
Love your videos
Amazing work as always. Yes, family is more important!
I dont think enough people appreciate the amount of time, care, and attention you pay to every part of the process to get better than factory results from a work shed
the lines in the flashing that transferred over from the material you used proves how clean those molds are
also working on fiberglass in a tank top is bad ass
Why? Who's talking crap? You literally just acting like people are to seem like you're virtous protecting it or something weird.

this is the first time i saw your channel and im automatically gonna subscribe cause this is a unique build from what ive seen and browsed around yt!
Well done success comes from persistence
Awesome work!
Love your work
I wish the exterior of my car was as well-finished as your moulds and plugs! 🤣
Now you have all the molds ready. Mayby do carbonfiber
Another video of awesome work!!
now you just need a gtr powertrain 😁
Holy goddamn, we truly have come so far! The Skygea's looking amazing, man!
Simple 10 of 10!
The finish quality looks really really good 🤯👌
Great work
Great looking parts
That is some amazing work, keep it up.
Good job man 👍💪
Really nice work you have done.. I can't wait to see how the back it's going to look like.. i hope to see some gtr taillights😉
Well done.
Your my hero 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾😎

what a legend
Very good quality sir..can make lot money

Hahah, I do want to build an "itasha" car one day, not sure if this is the one for that though.
@@TofuAutoWorks I’m sure it’s going to look amazing whatever you decide and I can’t wait to see it ❤️
Magnifique 😊

I like to imagine that one day, someone will commission this kit off you and make their own S35 GT-R, complete with a flame-spitting VR38DETT
This has been a long time coming
Are these parts made from glass or what? Just wow!! Im really impressed!!
A fighter jet paint scheme would be sick, as it has that tough look with rivots.
