Rainbows have been around since water fell from the sky during a sunny break. There are many things that use rainbows as their symbol such as hope, leprechauns, friendship, the Rainbow Bridge, and Noah's Ark.
Sprinkles themselves are apolitical, but depending on how they’re arranged they can send a political message (e.g., someone uses sprinkles in the shape of a controversial flag). However… I doubt the rainbow sprinkles in the video were used to express anything other than “rainbow sprinkles and colours are pretty 😄”.
The rainbow aversion thing is a great life hack. There's no faster way to work out if someone's a bigot and not worth knowing than to wear an aggressively rainbow shirt around them and pay attention to their reaction. 😂 🌈

I grew up fundamentalist Christian where everyone was incredibly homophobic. I had my Care Bears and Rainbow Bright taken away. Avoiding rainbow anything became second nature until I deconstructed and left the faith. When I was learning how to be a good Ally I realized that I needed to question my subconscious decisions that I’d been conditioned into making because of my upbringing. Avoiding rainbow things was something I’d been doing so much that I’d forgotten how much I loved rainbows. So I have a lot of rainbow stuff now. It makes me happy and upsets awful people. Win win.
I'm glad for you! I'm a lesbian and i love rainbow themed things, but not because of the LGBTQ community, but just because rainbows are pretty and make me happy (even though i like that our flag is a rainbow)
I was a teenager before the LGBT community used a rainbow flag. My mother decorated my room in rainbows. I had sheets with rainbow stripes, she used a set of the sheets to make curtains, with a pull shade behind. Another sheet she stretched over a canvas at an ark to make a rainbow.🌈 And she found a poster cut out of an actual rainbow, it was huge. Give my mother a theme to work with, and step back. If the LGBT community had claimed rainbows as theirs before this... I don't think my mother would have questioned using rainbows. But she might have been able to find more things with rainbows on them. I chose rainbows because I was an art student for 5 years at the time, and loved all of the colors. I had a hard time picking a color for my new room, so I said I want all of the colors, I want a rainbow. Funny how times have changed. Something as beautiful as a rainbow is denied to children because they might turn out different than the parents hoped for. I turned out just fine; well, except for my husband and I were never blessed with children. But I'd never blame a rainbow for that. Everytime it rains I still search the sky looking for a rainbow. *Too bad your overly religious parents forgot in the Bible it tells us the rainbow is a promise from God, that he will never again try to kill all of us with flooding. I hate to admit this next bit, but as a child i stopped wearing rainbow stuff because I kept being bullied about it (granted i was always mis-gendered and sexual orientation assumed/questioned too). I never understood the insecurity surrounding that. I'm now back to expressing my love of rainbows and a friend and i had a unicorn thing for a few years because of an incident with a bath bomb at a convention.
I grew up fundamentalist Christian and had all my rainbow stuff taken away. No more Care Bears or Rainbow Bright. Once I deconstructed I started reading about how to be a good ally. Part of that was examining myself and what I’d been conditioned to think and do without consciously thinking about it. Avoiding rainbows was part of that. I love rainbows and all the colors. So I’m embracing them now.
@@southernblackbird7240 I'm so sorry. I loved Care Bears and Rainbow Bright. I'm glad for where you are now. It seems my Christian upbringing was also fundamentalist. I'm... going to deconstruct but I don't even know where to start. Being a PK, having the upbringing I did... I don't know how to... People are still shocked that as a PK, as a person that grew up in the church, that I was spoken to by elders etc because of the questions I asked or how I answered their questions. Being told to not interact with sinners but you explain that means you'd have 2 other Christians to speak with in your new public school, one being family. Then the same person asks you why you haven't saved anyone. I said that Jesus started with relationship, with meeting people where they were at. He didn't like that. No teacher or parent liked my curiosity about other religions or evolution. I was told by a friend a few years ago that I was the first Christian that didn't condemn them upon finding out they were LGBTQIA+.

"I think we just figured it out." Yup, the flowers were toxic. 😂😂😂
Alot of things are.
Win win.
Awwww I'm so glad!! 🌈🌈🌈
I'm glad for you!
I'm a lesbian and i love rainbow themed things, but not because of the LGBTQ community, but just because rainbows are pretty and make me happy (even though i like that our flag is a rainbow)
Another win for logic and reasoning
Rainbows are a promise from God.* 🌈 Your church doesn't read the whole Bible, just the parts it agrees with? SMH.
Take care stay safe have a nice day. 👵☮️🖖

I would refuse to serve the last person.
A friend wouldn't let her toddler get a particular stuffed bear kit because the bear was rainbow coloured, even though it was the the one he kept reaching for.
I hate to admit this next bit, but as a child i stopped wearing rainbow stuff because I kept being bullied about it (granted i was always mis-gendered and sexual orientation assumed/questioned too). Rainbow doesn't automatically mean LGBTQIA+ ...so many Christians in my life apparently forget...God...rainbow... They just get mad that it was "stolen." I never understood the insecurity surrounding that.
I really do credit my mom for raising us to be how we were in terms of interacting with those who were different from us. But I was also bullied in many ways for being different myself.
But imagine at the end of the day the thing they are mad at are colours. Is the bible turning christians... COLOURBLIND?
Insecurity? They perveted a beautiful symbol that attacks children instead coming up somthing on their own. And are now o0enly admitting to coming after children.
I need to know about the incident.
