I'm new to the channel, but I really enjoy videos like these where it's someone who loves their hobby just talking about the things they're trying and enjoy talking about
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate that a lot! I’m very happy to hear you enjoy my content, and hearing me ramble about all things wetshaving 😂! Thank you for joining me! And hope you have a great week ahead!
Hey Mike, thanks so much for watching! I appreciate the kind words regarding the lather! I do enjoy taking a lot of time with my lathers (although not necessary for a good shave, of course). Just my style I guess. If you haven’t already, you should check out Lawrie from UncleL shaves. He whips up some killer lathers in his bowl. Awesome to see. Hope you have a great Memorial Day!
Hey Doug, thanks so much for your continued support my friend. Always appreciate when you stop by and give your feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed my review of Ben Franklin. It’s quite the unique scent from Stirling. I love it. In my opinion, if you’re a hobbyist who enjoys trying different soaps all the time, a big tub isn’t always necessary. Although I am very close, I still have yet to get through one completely. Samples are also a good way to test out stuff without going broke. Hope you have a great week ahead!
Nice video! As an everyday shaver the Muhle R41 I had didn't stick around long in my den. I've sniffed Ben Franklin soap each time I've been to Stirling's shop, but could never like it ! Like you said...polarizing. Thanks for sharing Aaron and have a good week!! 👍
Thanks so much for watching man! Appreciate the kind words! Yeah I hear ya. The r41 definitely isn’t good for someone who shaves every day. I imagine that would cause way too much irritation. But it’s great for mowing down lots of growth. For sure Ben Franklin is a polarizing one. I like how stirling produced it even though they figured it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Love the creativity. You have a great week as well!
among my stirling soaps ( 33 ) I have also some samples , I put these in aluminum cans , the scent of benjamin franklin is like old used socks haha so I did use the soap only once , regards from mexico
Thanks for watching Robert! Appreciate your continued support! Awesome to hear you have so much Stirling! Interesting method with the aluminum can. A lot of different ways to store and use these samples. Most of my samples are stored in small makeup jars I got off Amazon. You know, there is something about this scent that does sort of remind you of old socks. Definitely an interesting and bizarre scent. But I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. Have a great week!
Thanks so much for watching my friend! Always appreciate your positive feedback :)! Thanks, I always thought Stirling lathered up just as good as any other soap. And you can’t beat that price! I got the boat drinks bath soap not long ago and really enjoyed the scent. I almost get a chocolatey scent from it. I love it! Hope you enjoy it! Have a great week and thanks again for tuning in!
Thanks for watching Edwin! Glad to hear you’re also an r41 fan. Appreciate the recommendation for that ikon tek. Man I gotta look into that. I’m a sucker for aggressive razors. Thank you! I think you would like Ben Franklin. A very unique and interesting scent for sure. Great thing about Stirling is you can always grab samples. Hope you have a great week!
Great shave Aaron. The R41 and Stirling soap are a good combination. I recommend getting the Cube for a pre shave. It’s the only one I use. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day. Take care.
Hey Lee, thanks so much for watching! Always appreciate your support and feedback. Definitely a timeless combo with the r41 and Stirling. Never lets me down. Thanks for the cube recommendation. I’ll probably end up snagging one at some point. The Clown Fruit cube caught my eye so hopefully he drops that again this Halloween. You have a great Memorial Day as well.
Great shave, Aaron! Can't go wrong with an R41 and an Astra Green 👍 I haven't tried Stirling's bath soaps, but I do enjoy using bar soap, so I might pick up a couple to sample some of their scents. Have a good Memorial Day!
Hey Joseph thanks so much for watching my man! Agreed man! R41 with the Astra green is just too good. It’s tough going back to mild razors after this, but on days when I don’t have much growth a mild razor gets the job done. Yeah, the Stirling bath soaps are a great way to sample the scents. I also figure it’s a great way to support Stirling. Whenever I purchase from them, I always get a bath soap too. Plus I’m sure it’s way better for your skin than bar soap you get at the supermarket. Hope you had a great weekend!
@@wewreckedem thanks for watching! Glad we both agree that bay rum is a great choice. I always loved bay rum. Ben Franklin is a unique take on bay rum, but I love how it smells. Have a great weekend.
Great Shave as alway Aaron, I thought of buying Ben Franklin just never got around to it, LoL, But Stirling does have to me some really good soaps , Have wonderful weekend
Hey Shannon, thanks so much for watching and the kind words. Hope all is well! Ben Franklin is definitely a unique scent. Not one for everybody but I love it. Awesome that Stirling has something for everyone though. Have a great weekend brother!
Thank you for tuning in my friend. Glad to hear you’re also a Stirling fan! I got a sample a while back of the satsuma splash and enjoyed it. Gotta snag it again at some point. Happy you’re enjoying that glacial stuff, the menthol in there is wild haha. Great for the summer. Hope you have a great week!
That's an awesome one-pass shave Aaron👍 I've never had much success with the one-pass shave, I do 2-pass shaves (WTG & ATG) when I'm in a hurry or doing a series of daily/light beard shaves. I'm not a fan of any Bay Rum like soaps I've tried, many actually give me a headache which could be the clove like scent in them, I seem to be OK with the Lucky Tiger Bay Splash though and quite like it. Take care my friend👌🤠👌
Hi Lawrie! Thanks so much for watching. Always appreciate your support and feedback. Yeah, this is really the only razor I have that can mow down most of my hair in one pass. Normally one pass leaves me unsatisfied. But this was a fun experimental video. Bay rum has always been a polarizing scent, that’s for sure. Can totally see how it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. If you haven’t already, I suggest giving paa’s atomic age bay rum a spin. There’s no clove, and many people who aren’t bay rum fans report to enjoy it. Have a great rest of your week!
Hello Glenn thanks so much for tuning in! I’m happy you snagged Ben Franklin! Truly a unique and creative scent. I love the direction Stirling went with this one. Appreciate the kind words regarding the lather! But Lawrie will forever remain the lather champion. Can’t get enough of watching him whip it up. Hope you guys are having a fun trip down south! Love the pictures with Mel and Chuck.
@@DoubleAshaves Having a fantastic time. We are on Sand Key, Florida with our family from Las Vegas now. Driving home on Wednesday. Great fun meeting Mel and Chuck. Best regards as always, Glenn
Thanks for watching man and for the feedback. I might have those laying around somewhere actually. I gotta give that a go. Thanks for the recommendation and have a great week!
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate your blade recommendations! I think I have some persona laying around. I haven’t used them enough to get a good reading on them. But I plan on using them more often. The few times I did use them, I didn’t seem to have any issues. Never tried the 7ams but thanks for putting them on my radar. Hope you have a great week!
Hey Gary, thanks so much for watching brother! Appreciate your support. Lol, that made me crack up more than it should’ve. I like your idea of giving these bad boys nicknames. Hope you have a great Memorial day my friend. Cheers!
I found funny the obvious tongue in cheek scent description and how people found it off putting. It's one of my favourites soaps and sad to hear it will be gone, but given the amount of soaps already in the den, don't think I would ever get to finish even this one. R41 is my favorite for sure and have used it on a daily basis for a while
Thanks so much for watching! Totally agree, this is actually one of my favorite scents. I can see how it can be polarizing, but man I just really love the creative direction Stirling took with this one. Killer fall scent. You’re a brave man for using r41 daily. I like to use mine after I need to mow down a lot of growth. Have a good weekend!
Thanks so much for watching Allen! Appreciate your support and kind words. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Hope you have a great rest of your week!
Thanks for watching man! lol yeah I’ve had a lot of people tell me my hair grows slow. Oh well. I have a lot of Northern European blood in me, so maybe that has something to do with it? Who knows. Anyway, have a great week!
Thanks so much for tuning in brother, always appreciate you! Yeah, I figured. Love the creativity of the cube, but just not necessary to use if you’re shaving with good soap like this. Hope you have a great week ahead man!
Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate your support and kind words! I have not, but have heard great things about the captains choice bay rum. I think you can get a sample of it off of maggards if you’re in the states. If you’re curious about the scent but don’t want to commit to the full tub. Hope you have a great week!

You are right! Best lather! Even better than mine 😂
Great review Aaron. Anyone teetering on Ben Franklin needs to watch this. Glad you mentioned samples. I think I’ll be going that route in the future.

Have you tried the Persona blades? Persona or Accuforge if I'm not mistaken. I love Astra and the Gilette 7am SS; Gilette smoother but dulls quicker
