Wow what a version... so emotional, I'm sad to hear of his passing and of the fact that this is my first time hearing him sing........ blew me away! I love singers who can convey the meaning of a songs lyric more than anything. That don't resort to needless theatrics. IMO his and Randy Crawfords version are the best, just lovely!
Years ago..in Atlanta..a guy named So.on..played with a band called Yikes..in Buckheaf..man he was a cross between Woods and Nat King Cole. Such a timeless song He would sing this and the hairs on the back of my neck just stood up..
Such a magnificent voice! His voice went from Good to Excellent as the years went by. Perfection is the best descriptive terminology as he shared his pain through his music. He had achieved the ability, that so few ever do, to reach into your heart and soul and share his feelings. Sorry I didn't run into him along the way. RIP Stevie Woods
That's exactly what I was thinking, too. God woke me up with this song... not this version, tho. Although it's a good version, too, it's just a first time for me today. God bless you for your comment.
@HeavenlyBridegroomMusic There are many jazz genre songs that reflect the truth of Biblical Scripture. We are awakened Negroes known biblically as the Hebrews. Certain characteristics run in our bloodline.
I am shocked to read this - and even more that I could verify it on the web. I'd never had thought Stevie Woods would be dead. Even the fact he had died earlier than Udo Jürgens (whose death maybe covered a lot) makes me feel affected. I just never have heard of this sad fact, probably just was surprised he wasn't on the Pepe Lienhard Tour. So sad....
Check out every version of this song: George Benson, James Cleveland, Oleta Adams, Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, and many many more. I was trying to see if Donnie Hathaway did it too. Blessings to you all❤

The only thing unchanged is the love of our Heavenly Father for HIS obedient children. APTTMH.

The more time passes, the more true the message of this song is for me, in truth there are not many things in life that you can be sure of.
This is still true today. This song was made years ago...love the peaceful melody.
Beautiful, classic and soulful vocal
RIP Stevie! You are missed!

Quelle version…c’est tellement beau, tellement juste.
Everything must change,
Nothing stays the same.
Everyone must change
Nothing stays the same.
The young become the old,
Mysteries do unfold.
'Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged.
There are not many things
In life you can be sure of.
Except
Rain comes from the clouds,
And sun lights up the sky,
And humming birds do fly.
Winter turns to spring.
Wounded heart will heal.
Never much too soon
Everything must change
The young become the old,
Mysteries do unfold.
'Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged.
There are not many things
In life you can be sure of.
Except
Rain comes from the clouds,
And sun lights up the sky,
And humming birds do fly.

Wow, he looks so old, he looks like he aged 30 years in just three of four.
He was a sick man. Everything must change, nothing stays the same. Thank God for your health.
I never knew that he passed away. A great singer. So sad he's gone.
Beautiful song. Amazing voice. First time l have heard him sing. So sad he has gone. Life is not fair. A talent has passed.
Everything must change
Diabetes can age a person- and ultimately it killed him.
