In fact most of these Models and toys are made in China Relatively Cheap, or of little cost then they are shipped to the US then sold at an overpriced amount. And the whole Scalping prices problem we wouldn't have if no one bought Scalpers prices. But as I said I totally agree in spite of the Products Quality it sure doesn't warrant the price it should be around 350-400 and even that's crazy. Take care.

Love the articulation on the individual lions. So much better than the original Bandai Godaikin GoLion I remember from the early '80s. Just big diecast bricks, back then.

Awesome! I got mine a few days ago. I only had a chance to open the box and check for qc issues. All appears well but I need a block of time to really unpack this guy. He is the ultimate version of Voltron imho.
Times like this I'm sorta glad I'm not in the Voltron rabbit hole. I do need a Voltron for my Collection of my childhood memories but man that price tag hurts. I mean I've paid around $500+ for a 3p combiner (Not looking forward to the final grade total on FT Stunticons lol) but atleast in those scenarios you pay a little here and there @ a time but this is straight $700 Hahaha,It is a beautiful piece and Congrats to you and anyone else who can afford this.

The size, it has the lion leg covers like blitzway Voltron. And it has more articulation than SOC Voltron. Threezero Voltron can do the kneeling pose. And it can transform/combine. Usually threezero figures don't transform but threezero Voltron can transform/combine. So many Voltron options now. And that is good. Blitzway Voltron: best articulation so far. More CARTOON accurate because of the lion leg covers. Size bigger than SOC. Threezero Voltron: great articulation so far. More CARTOON accurate because of the lion leg covers. I decided to wait on this until i'm sure they have the QC issues ironed out. Things are getting kinda lean around here and I don't need the hassle of spending all that money and getting one that's broken and having to go through all the crap to get replacement pieces. Oh but it looks so damn nice. Do better, Blitzway!
The only QC Issue I found was the side flaps did not tab in so well and the double sword did not stay tabbed together. I find those minor issues forgivable
I'm f-ing excited about this new Voltron. I sold my SOC and I've been looking at this big empty space with on the top shelf of my bot collection for the last 6 months.
The original matchbox version is still such a pleasure to look at and hold. And I find it interesting how its head, belt and shield are still almost as large or as large as so many of the modern updated versions of the robot. Also, to this day it still seems to have the most die cast out of all of them with the possible exception of the Bandai one (which is awesome btw).
It's weird with all the engineering advancements in transformers one would think it would be simple to make Voltron without legs with pilots you can put in lions and articulation
I think I want this. I have all the Voltrons so far except for the Matty Collector, that one was garbage and passed on that. I don't care for the electronics or lights but for THIS price, hell yeah I'm gonna transform this back and forth many times. I might as well get a statue if I never transform it or pose it.
The Blitz way, Voltron can pose all kinds of ways. This thing is unlimited with Paul‘s ability. You just have to find all the poses. There’s a lot about the blitz weight Voltron you have yet to learn, but continue with the action figure it is the best, Voltron action figure that is out by far, and there’s also 30 Voltron that is the same as the blitz weigh only smaller but yeah, just continue to feel your way around blitz way
I would love some cartoon-accurate non-transforming lions. Would also love all of the silvery chrome to be replaced with a cartoon-accurate shiny white
Definitely the best of all the versions you compared it with. I have the playmates version, which doesn't look nearly as good next to it, but is the right scale and I think a better head sculpt. Had this one been that size, game over. Almost the definitive Voltron.
I am guessing they went this height to match the original vehicle voltron but that was never mentioned anywhere. Any bigger it would not have fir in my display LOL

Yes way better than SOC. It has the correct proportions which I felt SOC got wrong which was why I passed originally on SOC. $700 is still a lot of $$$ but it currently is the best version
Despite the price I think it will become the definitive modern Voltron for collectors overtaking the Soul of Chogokin version in Voltron collector groups.
The Lions were the same size in the show right? Maybe slightly diffrent in size. All toys have Black Lion being huge to me. With today's technology in toy making can't we make the Lions more the same size.
Yes they could do an expanding green and red lion while collapsing black lion so they are all similar in size. Wonder if that will come years down the road
This is not worth 700USD, in my opinion Blitzway charges way too much for their action figures. For this price point the engineering should have been perfect, in fact for 700USD any action figure has to be perfect and very limited. Thanks for the review Tydirium.
31:13 the playmates from a few years ago wasn't at the $180+ price point upon release, more like ~$100. Target had the black lions at $30 and the limbs at $18. I forget what TRU was selling the box set for (I do recall getting the modern, stealth exclusive Netflix set from gamestop for super cheap during a clear out sale though). In any case, nice comparisons. Reminds me of the voltrons I haven't taken all out to display. Ironically, I just got a 14inch creature from the black lagoon for ~$30 instead of $40 and it looks like it'd be a nice, generic robeast against this blitzway voltron. Might even get another to dye it black and/or dark blue. Crazy how the cheaper toy purchases can encourage one to get the more expensive ones.
In hand it feels super premium! The paint is great but matches the plastic and the diecast gives it the weight it deserves. Other than the elbow joints I could not see how it could be improved
The recent Playmates one is more than a Voltron figure though. It's an interactive member' berry of the show. The voice/sound clips are just as much the selling point. Also I think you could get the whole team for about $125 retail when it was released. I expect it to increase in value because not only does it look good on a shelf despite having articulation issues, but those sound clips are actually very well done. The merge to form Voltron sound clips especially.
You can make the ankles move a lot further in voltron mode head and bottom leg all move together also the leg lions do have an ab crunch.. also waist extends like SOC..
The legs did look like they had ab crunch but I did not want to press that too hard. I guess the waist collapses and extends back out I never did that so yet another great point thanks
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Agreed - but the SOC version was simply too small for its cost, and had some QC & paint scratching issues that made it hard to get excited about. I think a large, high quality figure would be far more appealing, especially since it would be in scale with Blitzway's other offering.
This is no doubt a nice piece! I am concerned about metal or joint fatigue over time. The knee joint, for example, may not be able to support the die cast blue and yellow lions. I guess it depends on the pose it is in. That's the other thing too - poses-ability is a bit too limited for the price. I look forward to see how Three Zero design theirs.
I would love to see a smaller scale.. like a chogokin height and in hard plastic/diecast form so that us mere mortals can afford this and have space on the shelf..
Robosen Optimus is only $50 more at $750. Walks talks and transforms. I'd get that before dropping 700 on this. That being said, this is gorgeous and I would get it if I could.
Everybody has their own perception of Value. Robosen is cool but after 30 minutes the gimmick gets old but this being displayed perfectly next to the vintage vehicle voltron and looking so great is worth it. I am in awe of Robosen but from a distance
@@tydiriumhanger1320 SoC lion and vehicle voltrons can be purchased and displayed together for a similar price to the blitzway voltron alone. And they go together better being from the same line. But overall yeah I agree that value is subjective. Saying the robosen robot gimmicks "get old quick" feels similar to action figure collectors telling transformers collectors that transforming gets old, you're just gonna have it stand on a shelf in robot mode, just get the RED/action master/super-7, and have a toon accurate posable figure and avoid that kibble. Or statue collectors telling action figure collectors that their figures are basically just going to be statues on a shelf, so just get a statue without sculpt breaking joints. None of them "get it". Also Robosen has a micro USB port next to the charging port and you can connect it to a PC and copy paste in files to give him custom sounds and motions. Potentially infinite expandability if you're tech savvy and imaginative enough. For me, robosen takes priority but I will get voltron eventually if I can.

Nice review! I'm still considering this one, the price is up there though and the obvious holdback. I still say it should be 20+ inches. I'm curious about the wings and why the smooth side faces back so do you think there would be any reason they couldn't be swapped so the smooth side faces forward and the notch will still be in the right spot?
Pricier than the SoC was when it came out...but looks way better. My only option - the cheapest option among the "higher end" stuff - is that Fantasy Jewel KO of the SoC, despite that completely incorrect head of the Green Lion they did. (Doing some research, however, there is no "cheap option". Fantasy Jewel is up to between 230 to 600, the Playmates Classic Edition is like 250 and up (or worse for the individual lions), Matty Collector can run up around 1300, the SoC is 290 to *700*...daaamn!! 😑😑😑😑😑 Conversely, Trendmasters is around 150+, but it's fugly...but not as fugly as the vintage one from Panosh Place that didn't have an anime accurate design at all (it was solely for having cockpits for the 3¾" pilot figures)...yet that one goes from 25-550. Makes me wish I kept the one I had as a kid. 😑😑😑
You point out that Voltron has been passed around more than a $2 franchise but it sure is fun to see all the different options out there. I do wonder if there will be another better than this one? Playmates had some BIG plans that never came about and that was super disappointing

It’s a killer Voltron but for $700 all the lions should of had the push button LED lights like the yellow and blue lion and all those weapons in the tray should’ve been painted as well.
Yep but the red and green lions are so small they went a different route that is not sustainable. I thought when I saw the weapons they were prototypes but I guess there is a reason for the colors

This set looks amazing, but it does not look like $700 worth of Voltron... Some of the engineering and construction could have been done better. Those little tools to pull out the connectors and turn the lights on, etc. smell like a hack rather than features that were really well implemented or even thought out.
Yep there may be ways to improve on the design and with the price we expect perfection. Will be interesting if another company will ever make a better version in the future like 3Zero but in the same scale

That one was still over $200 for a KO and people still got it because it was the "cheap" option. Someone could probably KO this Blitzway Voltron and sell it for $350-400 and still have room for a hefty profit.
Keep seeing people say how accurate this is to the anime but its really not accurate at all in almost every way! Is it cool yes but the only thing accurate about it the cross on the chest everything else & I mean everything is wrong!

That gap bothered me a bit in photos but less in person. Now I do not pose in extreme dynamic poses so really a non issue for me

Yes way better than SOC. It has the correct proportions which I felt SOC got wrong which was why I passed originally on SOC. $700 is still a lot of $$$ but it currently is the best version
Despite the price I think it will become the definitive modern Voltron for collectors overtaking the Soul of Chogokin version in Voltron collector groups.
The Lions were the same size in the show right? Maybe slightly diffrent in size. All toys have Black Lion being huge to me. With today's technology in toy making can't we make the Lions more the same size.
Yes they could do an expanding green and red lion while collapsing black lion so they are all similar in size. Wonder if that will come years down the road

This is not worth 700USD, in my opinion Blitzway charges way too much for their action figures. For this price point the engineering should have been perfect, in fact for 700USD any action figure has to be perfect and very limited.

Still waiting for mine. I will display it on lions mode. My other Voltrons in robot mode. That flying display stand is awesome
They sure did some great things with this set.
31:13 the playmates from a few years ago wasn't at the $180+ price point upon release, more like ~$100. Target had the black lions at $30 and the limbs at $18. I forget what TRU was selling the box set for (I do recall getting the modern, stealth exclusive Netflix set from gamestop for super cheap during a clear out sale though).
In any case, nice comparisons. Reminds me of the voltrons I haven't taken all out to display. Ironically, I just got a 14inch creature from the black lagoon for ~$30 instead of $40 and it looks like it'd be a nice, generic robeast against this blitzway voltron. Might even get another to dye it black and/or dark blue. Crazy how the cheaper toy purchases can encourage one to get the more expensive ones.
Cool idea for a creature to battle Voltron. I must be remembering the short time they were at Gamestop with a marked up price
This almost looks like a cheap toy that's not cheap. But it's got the best looking lion head I've ever seen 👍😝
In hand it feels super premium! The paint is great but matches the plastic and the diecast gives it the weight it deserves. Other than the elbow joints I could not see how it could be improved
The recent Playmates one is more than a Voltron figure though. It's an interactive member' berry of the show. The voice/sound clips are just as much the selling point. Also I think you could get the whole team for about $125 retail when it was released. I expect it to increase in value because not only does it look good on a shelf despite having articulation issues, but those sound clips are actually very well done. The merge to form Voltron sound clips especially.
The sound is awesome but fiddly. You are right they will go up in value because they came at the end of the line and are what collectors really wanted
You can make the ankles move a lot further in voltron mode head and bottom leg all move together also the leg lions do have an ab crunch.. also waist extends like SOC..
The legs did look like they had ab crunch but I did not want to press that too hard. I guess the waist collapses and extends back out I never did that so yet another great point thanks

They probably saw how SOC still has not sold out yet and is hesitant. I love my SOC Vehicle version but also understand business and demand
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Agreed - but the SOC version was simply too small for its cost, and had some QC & paint scratching issues that made it hard to get excited about. I think a large, high quality figure would be far more appealing, especially since it would be in scale with Blitzway's other offering.
This is no doubt a nice piece! I am concerned about metal or joint fatigue over time. The knee joint, for example, may not be able to support the die cast blue and yellow lions. I guess it depends on the pose it is in. That's the other thing too - poses-ability is a bit too limited for the price. I look forward to see how Three Zero design theirs.
This seems like it will hold up which is why I feel there are soft joint in some areas and super tight joints in others. Only time will tell
Preordered but cancelled. Sticking with SOC and will probably pick up the action toys mini figures. Nice review!

Yes Matty collector is huge only outdone in size by the Shogun Warrior versions but those are super simple in design
I would love to see a smaller scale.. like a chogokin height and in hard plastic/diecast form so that us mere mortals can afford this and have space on the shelf..
That would probable be what 3Zero does later this year

I am not sure but I did not get that disclaimer when I just visited their site. There are lockdowns going on over there though
Robosen Optimus is only $50 more at $750. Walks talks and transforms. I'd get that before dropping 700 on this. That being said, this is gorgeous and I would get it if I could.
Everybody has their own perception of Value. Robosen is cool but after 30 minutes the gimmick gets old but this being displayed perfectly next to the vintage vehicle voltron and looking so great is worth it. I am in awe of Robosen but from a distance
@@tydiriumhanger1320 SoC lion and vehicle voltrons can be purchased and displayed together for a similar price to the blitzway voltron alone. And they go together better being from the same line. But overall yeah I agree that value is subjective. Saying the robosen robot gimmicks "get old quick" feels similar to action figure collectors telling transformers collectors that transforming gets old, you're just gonna have it stand on a shelf in robot mode, just get the RED/action master/super-7, and have a toon accurate posable figure and avoid that kibble. Or statue collectors telling action figure collectors that their figures are basically just going to be statues on a shelf, so just get a statue without sculpt breaking joints. None of them "get it". Also Robosen has a micro USB port next to the charging port and you can connect it to a PC and copy paste in files to give him custom sounds and motions. Potentially infinite expandability if you're tech savvy and imaginative enough. For me, robosen takes priority but I will get voltron eventually if I can.

Nice review! I'm still considering this one, the price is up there though and the obvious holdback. I still say it should be 20+ inches. I'm curious about the wings and why the smooth side faces back so do you think there would be any reason they couldn't be swapped so the smooth side faces forward and the notch will still be in the right spot?
I am sure there is a way to swap them but I am not brave enough to attempt that LOL

The red lion in toys is always inaccurate with the way it connect to the black lion
Pricier than the SoC was when it came out...but looks way better. My only option - the cheapest option among the "higher end" stuff - is that Fantasy Jewel KO of the SoC, despite that completely incorrect head of the Green Lion they did. (Doing some research, however, there is no "cheap option". Fantasy Jewel is up to between 230 to 600, the Playmates Classic Edition is like 250 and up (or worse for the individual lions), Matty Collector can run up around 1300, the SoC is 290 to *700*...daaamn!! 😑😑😑😑😑
Conversely, Trendmasters is around 150+, but it's fugly...but not as fugly as the vintage one from Panosh Place that didn't have an anime accurate design at all (it was solely for having cockpits for the 3¾" pilot figures)...yet that one goes from 25-550. Makes me wish I kept the one I had as a kid. 😑😑😑
You point out that Voltron has been passed around more than a $2 franchise but it sure is fun to see all the different options out there. I do wonder if there will be another better than this one? Playmates had some BIG plans that never came about and that was super disappointing

(Still amazed that Matty Collector one can get up to 1300, that thing looks like 💩💩💩💩 compared to even Trendmasters & Panosh Place. It’s a killer Voltron but for $700 all the lions should of had the push button LED lights like the yellow and blue lion and all those weapons in the tray should’ve been painted as well.
Yep but the red and green lions are so small they went a different route that is not sustainable. I thought when I saw the weapons they were prototypes but I guess there is a reason for the colors

This set looks amazing, but it does not look like $700 worth of Voltron...
Some of the engineering and construction could have been done better. Those little tools to pull out the connectors and turn the lights on, etc. smell like a hack rather than features that were really well implemented or even thought out.
Yep there may be ways to improve on the design and with the price we expect perfection. Will be interesting if another company will ever make a better version in the future like 3Zero but in the same scale
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Because of the price there's a ton of room for a company to come in and KO this figure just lke Fantasy Jewel did with the SoC Voltron. That one was still over $200 for a KO and people still got it because it was the "cheap" option.
Someone could probably KO this Blitzway Voltron and sell it for $350-400 and still have room for a hefty profit.

I'm fine with the size, it's the price I'm not cool with lol. I think 300$ is my limit for a Voltron. Looking hard at the 3zero version now.
Keep seeing people say how accurate this is to the anime but its really not accurate at all in almost every way! Is it cool yes but the only thing accurate about it the cross on the chest everything else & I mean everything is wrong!
