Agreed...I lost interest once it got into the Hand and Chaste stuff. I know they are building to Iron Fist and the Defenders and all, but I wish they would have kept the story at street level, instead of introducing a big world ending thing...that's what the movies are for.
If you've got any extra Easter Eggs or References feel free to add them below. I'll start, The Punisher's van. I took a screenshot and everything I just forgot to include it. I'M SUCH AN IDIOT I'LL NEVER RECOVER FROM THIS.
+Mr Sunday Movies I caught something, the first time the punisher goes to court, his case number is 1986-4447, a nod to the 1986 comic book Born Again, or maybe just a coincidence ?
+Callum Kyle I found The Punisher's origin a little convoluted with the DA's involvement and multiple gangs plus the guy he served under. That's a lot going on.
+Callum Kyle I like to imagine it was deliberately complicated. Frank just got caught in something real messy and by the end of the season had learnt enough from Karen to just let go and believe the Colonel was the end of his revenge spree. No doubt when season 3 rolls around we'll probably go back to his war time a bit more, but for now I think he's managed to move on from that event.
+Mr Sunday Movies the DA was believable to me, but I agree about his officer. Then again, I knew as soon as it was Clancy Brown that he would be a villain, haha
This is the best Daredevil, Elektra, and Punisher ever put to film/screen/tv/whatever. That's not saying much, but I'm so glad this series is still this good.
+N3rdHD Sucj an amazing series, I've just finished season 2 and I'm literally crying with joy that it was so good. Honestly think it's the best thing in the whole Marvel universe.
+Miguel Torres The "I guess copycats were inevitable" "Oh this isn't new; we call them Devil Worshipers" scene ...And ALL the "cops should be able to have control" scenes, too. AND the Jessica Jones eps where :spoiler: that couple goes after her because she's powered and powered people are wrecking things/too dangerous, totally shows a lead up to that, too, in a way.
there's that but in episode 2, Mahoney says "But this guy? He does it and the streets get bloody. Makes everybody stop and think twice about the whole hero proposition."
I am also pretty sure that Hogarth (Carrie Ann Moss) mentions to Foggy that they are looking for lawyers who have experience with vigilantes, because they might have to represent some of them soon.
+Lokrow P I see what you mean. There were things I liked more about season 1, but the action and characters seemed more interesting in this season. However the overall story I liked a bit more in season 1.
after Castle kills everyone in the prison cell block he has blood all over him, and there is a blood spot on his chest that makes up the punisher skull
The actor who played Finn (Tony Curran) also played Vincent Van Gogh on Doctor Who. After Finn gets shot in the face, the Punisher sits against the gravestone of Jasper O'Clery, and the date of death is March 30, which is Vincent Van Gogh's birthday. Coincidence?! Yeah, probably.
Rooftop when Matt was in chains, when he said "boo hoo, we've all lost someone." A reference to Guardians of The Galaxy, when Rocket said something similar to Drax. Who happens to have a deceased wife and child.
In the scene with Frank dragging Schoonover to the shed, The Colonel mentions Frank should take a vacation to the Bahamas, which is a clear reference to the Tom Jane Punisher movie from 2004.
I'll very happily watch 10 hours of Punisher mowing down bad guys with a minigun. He was awesome, especially the prison scene. P.S. I watched all the episodes in one sitting as soon as it came out, I feel like a badass :-p
One of the framed newspapers that I don't remember seeing last season had a headline "Stark Tower Destroyed in Battle of NY". Destroyed, really? I know the sign lost most of its letters and a few windows got smashed, but think destroyed is a bit much.
I think you missed one, when daredevil pulls the trigger for the gun right before the badass stairwell fight scene, there's no bullets and he chuckles, possible a nod to the comic book issue cover where he did the same thing?
The first Tom Jane Punisher is referenced when Clancy Brown, The Blacksmith, says Frank should have taken his family to the Bahamas rather than Central Park
The blacksmith told punisher he could have taken his family to the Bahamas instead of Central Park because that's where they were killed in the first punisher movie
A 'Lost City' is mentioned in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of the newspaper that announces Frank Castle's arrest. That's probably the first mention of Iron Fist's backstory that we're going to get.
+Inkshooter most likely Sokovia from Age of Ultron, saying "lost" as in destroyed. its unlikely Kun Lun would be in any newspaper since 99% of people think its a myth
Yeah, i like how the suit is made (DD) and the red helmet looks way better than the previous one, also we got to see him with his billyclub in action so i'm happy on how this season went.
also when Karen was looking newspapers in the database room, there was a newspaper that had the following headline:"Ebola infected plays bowling" or something like that.
How do you manage to make these so fast after the season dropped?! But always great quality, great content, and decent commentary (nah just pulling your leg) Thanks mate!
+TxMix7104 his cameo is different this season. There's a newspaper hanging on Ben Urich's office when Karen first goes in, that's titled "HE CHEATED" or something along those lines.
The rooftop scene when daredevil was tied up, he said " boo hoo! everyone has dead people" or something like that, almost the same as rocket's dialog and the "on your left" when matt and elektra was going for a ride in the sports car.
Baldor might not be a reference to anything. Almost all restaurants and bakeries in New York City use Baldor as a supplier for food supplies and ingredients. You see Baldor trucks literally everywhere in Manhattan.
There is also one big easter eggs at the end of eps 13, when Matt went back to the office to meet Karen, we can see Jessica’s ALIAS INVESTIGATION logo on the window right across their office! So all this time, matt and jessica were neighbors or what?
I know you put a lot of hard work on these, so I don't mean this as a slight. Baldor is a Specialty Food store in New York City, and I think it was just a truck that happened to be in the shot rather than an actual reference to Thor. Thanks for your great work. Really enjoy these and the podcast.
When Elektra stabs a guy in the car towards the end of the season, it doesn't pierce his shirt, referencing her death in the comics and the film that shall not be mentioned.
+DustingBread For a minute there, I thought you were trying out a new insult. Gotta admit, though... "coma dung" has a certain ring to it. Maybe it deserves another chance. Addendum: Castle's arc was freakin great, but the Hand was just coma dung. Ehh, maybe not.
There was the scene when Daredevil was smiling while pointing the gun strapped to his hand at the gang members. This is a reference to the cover of the of the Daredevil comic "No More Mister Nice Guy" where he is doing the same thing.
I think the next season will come out in 2019. cause next year is Iron Fist and Luke Cage. also the Defenders have to come before Daredevil season 3...😫😥😢
Hi! Great content! But you forgot the poster of a gladiator fight poster in melvin's workshop during the last episode. When matt goes to the prison where kingpin is held, they called Cell Block D. Which is a nod to the story arc "The Devil in Cell Block D" during volume 2 in brian michael bendez's run of daredevil. keep up the great work goatman!
they just made karen the cliche since she a strong person now she not afraid of anything... gets captured threatened with her life by damn ninjas acts like it's nothing and has to be the hero asking if everyone is alright and when they running out the building giving people directions, like she only one who knows, man that karen character drives me insane
I'm purposely trying to space out the time in between each episode just so I can enjoy it later. I'll be sure to come back to this video once I'm all caught up.
I want to see bull's eye in daredevil more than anything, and boy did Castle get into it in that prison fight, man that was something, really sums up the Punisher's character
I thought this season was awesome but disjointed as the Punisher plot seems to drop off instead of linking with the Electra plot which it should have done.
TheDayghost you're kind of missing the point of the season. It's about the different ideologies and personalities and how they effect each other, not just plots. Frank and Matt do the same thing but in different ways. Elektra represents Matts dark side. Both the Punisher and Elektra are necessary to develop Matt's character which makes sense since this is Daredevil. Daredevil is the Punisher without his moral and religious beliefs and Elektra represents his darkest desire, namely that he is not only fighting bc he has to but also bc he really enjoys it, it was already hinted at in S 1, but in S2 they really go into that. So I disagree completely, both characters were perfectly utilised in this storyline.
I liked the little visual easter egg when Elektra stabs Stick's driver and the sai doesn't go through the other side of his clothes is true Frank Miller style...
There was a Star Wars reference when Karen breaks into Franks house. On the wall you can see a kids drawing of Luke and Vader. Another Star Wars reference (well this is more of a nod really) is in episode 10 when Frank uses Karen as bait and brings her to the diner, the two thugs walk in and Frank shot them "first" from under the table - Han Solo style.
A few things. The disk at the end is a not to Punisher's assistant/sidekick yes but Micro is short for Microchip. And second the multiple references to War Zone are nods to the comic "The Punisher, War Zone" the same comic book series the War Zone movie title takes it's name from.
in the stair well fight scene just before the fight begins the shot of Daredevil with a gun with the menacing grin is a homage to a daredevil cover entitled no more mister nice guy
You forgot that Daredevil is in almost every episode, alluding to Daredevil.
The show’s called Daredevil stupid, of course every episode is gonna have Daredevil, I’m so smart I can’t believe idiots like this exist
@@Lite727 you know he’s joking right?

The punisher's story had me more interested than daredevil/elektra.
both were equally engaging in their own way.
absolutely
+Alania A. Except for the punisher's story, which was *more* equally engaging
soxxycc lol 😉..it was awesome, no doubt. Jon Bernthal certainly deserves his own show.
Agreed...I lost interest once it got into the Hand and Chaste stuff. I know they are building to Iron Fist and the Defenders and all, but I wish they would have kept the story at street level, instead of introducing a big world ending thing...that's what the movies are for.

+Mr Sunday Movies I caught something, the first time the punisher goes to court, his case number is 1986-4447, a nod to the 1986 comic book Born Again, or maybe just a coincidence ?
The dog that Punisher rescued was Max from the comic. Take that.
+HadesFist he mentioned that
I think you forgot the Alias Investigations door across from the Nelson & Murdock door in the last episode near the end
+Mr Sunday Movies Anybody else think that the *SPOILER ALERT* shooter at the end who was covering up all the evidence was Bullseye?
I did not get that the general was the Blacksmith.
+Callum Kyle I found The Punisher's origin a little convoluted with the DA's involvement and multiple gangs plus the guy he served under. That's a lot going on.
+Alex Luthor Thanks mate, love your work!
+Callum Kyle I like to imagine it was deliberately complicated. +Mr Sunday Movies great video, thanks for responding.
In this series we see Foggy say How are you? Maybe a reference to Sub-Mariner when Some guy said "how are you?"
Definitely
How did I miss that
Actually, believe it or not, it's a reference to fearsome Hand leader, Howard Yu.
+DarkDennis1961 Classic Sub-Mariner
i hate foggy he whines too much
This is the best Daredevil, Elektra, and Punisher ever put to film/screen/tv/whatever. That's not saying much, but I'm so glad this series is still this good.
We should be glad that they got such an awesome revival.
Started from the bottom now we here.
+N3rdHD Sucj an amazing series, I've just finished season 2 and I'm literally crying with joy that it was so good. Honestly think it's the best thing in the whole Marvel universe.
100% agreed. Best thing in the MCU. Though Jessica Jones is a pretty close 2nd in my book. I hope Luke Cage delivers too.

There was mention of the superhero proposition in the police station which is a nod to civil war

there's that but in episode 2, Mahoney says "But this guy? He does it and the streets get bloody. Makes everybody stop and think twice about the whole hero proposition."
I am also pretty sure that Hogarth (Carrie Ann Moss) mentions to Foggy that they are looking for lawyers who have experience with vigilantes, because they might have to represent some of them soon.
I loved this season. Jon Bernthal killed it as Frank Castle. The action was superb and that fight scene in episode 3 was a step up from season 1's.
+Mark Devlin I'd say it's a technical step up. I found the one in season one more symbolic of Daredevil. All great nonetheless. :)
+Lokrow P I see what you mean. There were things I liked more about season 1, but the action and characters seemed more interesting in this season. However the overall story I liked a bit more in season 1.
Was that a pun?
Mark Devlin Same here. This season overall was a step up from the first. :)
I do not remember Reyes being in Jessica Jones like at all
same
apparently mahoney was in JJ as well, wtf?
mk6rfc1 yea Mahoney was str8 up in Jessica Jones for 1 or 2 episodes. Hogarth was also in DAREDEVIL season2
Is it just me or does she look like a duck without its bill?
+bladeriders i kept thinking the female gremlin from Gremlins 2
after Castle kills everyone in the prison cell block he has blood all over him, and there is a blood spot on his chest that makes up the punisher skull

When Matt and Elektra visit Potter you can clearly see a Gladiator poster in his workshop.
Daredevil wears a mask with horns, which is a nod to the character played by Ben Affleck in the Daredevil movie.

+suntzupup I was just about to say this, but I had to scroll down first to see if anyone else brought it up.
Baldor is a food company Baldor foods. I laughed at the first "easter egg"
Great finds! Though I think "Warzone" was intended as a reference to the Punisher comic of the same name, not so much the movie.
Rooftop when Matt was in chains, when he said "boo hoo, we've all lost someone." A reference to Guardians of The Galaxy, when Rocket said something similar to Drax. Who happens to have a deceased wife and child.
Hey there, Sunday! I adore the show! someone else I'd like to add is that a Gladiator poster hangs in Melvin's workshop.
I hope the Hand plot threads are wrapped up in the Defenders as I'd like them to move away from the hand in daredevil season 3.
I agree, season 3 should be bullseye
already watched season 2 and The Punisher is by far the best part of Daredevil season 2. .
It was all good though I really like Electra as well
+MrOasis316 I loved all of it. especially the punisher. ..
In the last episode he got shot in the chest. So maybe when it gets fixed they'll put the DD logo on it.

There was also a drawing of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker fighting on the wall of Frank Castle's house whenever Karen goes into it

The first Tom Jane Punisher is referenced when Clancy Brown, The Blacksmith, says Frank should have taken his family to the Bahamas rather than Central Park
Waiting for this since Friday. Quality stuff.
In one scene in Melvin Potter's workshop, there is a movie poster in the background; the movie's title is "Gladiator".
Yes! I'd love to see Gladiator next.
The Punisher better win a fucking Emmy or whatever award Netflix shows can win because every moment he was on screen I was on the verge of tears.
The blacksmith told punisher he could have taken his family to the Bahamas instead of Central Park because that's where they were killed in the first punisher movie
damn!!!! you're fast. good job
The General tells Frank that he should have taken his family to the Bahamas instead of a park, probably referencing the Thomas Jane Punshier movie
Wow never would have caught that stark tower Easter egg thanks mate!

I hope he eventually gets a comic book accurate suit
The comic books are actually shifting to look more like the Netflix version little by little
+DarkLordLink at least more red in the suit, that's all i ask.
Live To Rock That's what I'm hoping, it's like The Flash's suit on the TV show. Too maroon for my taste.
Yeah, i like how the suit is made (DD) and the red helmet looks way better than the previous one, also we got to see him with his billyclub in action so i'm happy on how this season went.
+DarkLordLink him in all red would look stupid
You're videos are the best man!

Where's the Stan lee cameo? We didn't get this season
I think he still has the same employee of the month picture in the precinct
+danny pardo cheap ass cameo then lmao
+TxMix7104 his cameo is different this season. There's a newspaper hanging on Ben Urich's office when Karen first goes in, that's titled "HE CHEATED" or something along those lines.
+Marco Estrella wasn't sure if it was him at first, thanks for clearing me up!
+danny pardo You can see him still there in the last episode when Foggy calls Matt from the police station
Dude, ur doing good work!
Punisher: Warzone is also the name of one of the lines of Punisher Comics.
You missed kingpin reading a daily bugle newspaper for a half a second
There is also one big easter eggs at the end of eps 13, when Matt went back
to the office to meet Karen, we can see Jessica’s ALIAS INVESTIGATION logo on the window right across their office!
What a beautiful season. Season 2 > Season 1
We can only hope that in a year
Season 3> Season 2> Season 1
+John Colon I hope we'll see Bullseye in season 3.
it's a fantastic season. the Punisher was incredible and Elektra mesmerizing.
I loved how they had another, longer continuous fighting shot again! they are so awesome!
Probably in the next season first he will fight on the terrace than in the hallway than on the stairs.
+fobudomh man, I'm not sure they can top themselves. I mean he was crippling people with a chain and a pistol taped to his hand... it was crazy good.
Nod to the Punisher movie? You mean the Punisher comic the movie was based on?
When Elektra stabs a guy in the car towards the end of the season, it doesn't pierce his shirt, referencing her death in the comics and the film that shall not be mentioned.
I'm actually in love with this channel
So Frank Castle's coma dung officer was confirmed to be the blacksmith? It wasn't clear to me if he was the head boss or a higher up.

For a minute there, I thought you were trying out a new insult.
Gotta admit, though... "coma dung" has a certain ring to it. Maybe it deserves another chance.
Addendum: Castle's arc was freakin great, but the Hand was just coma dung. Ehh, maybe not.
+bromixsr hahahaha nice try man
Season 2 truly lived up to the hype! Just finished the season and can't wait for season 3!
Everybody's blind to the fact that they're clearly setting up a Stiltman spin-off series. I'd watch the shit out of it.
There was the scene when Daredevil was smiling while pointing the gun strapped to his hand at the gang members. This is a reference to the cover of the of the Daredevil comic "No More Mister Nice Guy" where he is doing the same thing.
Here's a joke.
Where was Frank's Family after their trip to the park?
EVERYWHERE.
DewTheDrew Please, he'll never find me..........why is there a red dot on my forehead?
You became Indian? (I'm the worst human being on the planet)
You are so funny ! and its really nice how you add jokes to each of your facts, ITS COOL ! why don't you do trailer reactions ?

why? Punisher and Elektra don't really mix well.
Yeah that's the problem. The characters don't mix at all so they needed to either do one of them or craft a story that can use both of them.
TheDayghost you're kind of missing the point of the season. It's about the different ideologies and personalities and how they effect each other, not just plots. good timing as i just finished this season :)

+Daskaar Twelve hours and you didn't do it in one day? Weak.
Just kidding, I specifically set aside a day.
+HUGE JACKMAN 12. The episodes aren't an hour each.
+HUGE JACKMAN 55min x 13 episodes = 715 minutes, which is almost 12 hours (720min) so no, 12 is corrrect
