I play this piece for solo and ensemble tomorrow and I just want to comment on how helpful this has recording has been for me. This recording helped me make cuts in the piano part, figure out the style of the cadenza, and get a general feeling for the piece. Thanks man
I played this song as a solo senior year of high school. I ended up memorizing some of the song just from the endless hours I spent with this piece. But still, memorizing the entire song is beyond impressive
Try listening to this on 2x speed. It's actually quite interesting and pleasant for some reason because the scale runs sound so smooth. Very good though! 👏
Im an 8th grader rn and ive been learning this piece for 3 months. Im gonna play it now tonight for solo and ensemble. It wasnt an easy piece and u played it so well 👏👏👏Ill update when its over!!! Update: definetly not as perfect as yours, but good enough to earn a first division
Great playing! I saw where a comment said there were misprints in the articulations. I’m glad you found those and honestly it sounds great! Expression and dynamics were good just make sure you don’t cover the piano all the time. Honestly it’s probably the recording and where the camera was placed. Recordings do that at times haha What a great and full tone you have as well! This was very very good! Congrats on a very good performance!
Ok i'll update this when i'm progressing. I'm 14, played clarinet for 2 1/2 years and i just got a new clarinet (yamaha custom CS VR) and i'm going to attempt to learn this piece! wish me luck lol
It is good that you play with love for music, German classics should be played a little drier than romantic music, articulation, intonation, phrases are also different. In general, very talented, I wish you success in the future!
I’m playing this right now in 7th grade ( as a summer project ) and this really helps with how I’ll phrase it. Just having some trouble with the cadenza heh, great performance. Also if you have any tips for circular breathing please lmk because czardaz isint the friendliest for uh breathing…. That’s about it, wish me luck on early regional and TMEA lol. You had a great 1st and 3rd variation for this, but I felt 2nd was lacking dynamic contract besides the accents etc. also ignore my name this is my dads account lol😂
Are you sure about that? If you look at the score, there are a bunch of 16th note passages meant to be played staccato. Unless there is an error in your score, you are most probably interpreting the music incorrectly. I suggest you look at another recording.
With enough practice anyone can play this. The first page is honestly not hard, the third page is where it can get a bit tricky but with slow practice it's very doable. I do have to congratulate this clarinetist for that cadenza, very nice.
@@idonkat6097 for me the first page staccatos are the hardest, rest is pretty easy, idk if im doing something wrong but the staccatos always mess me up
amazing performance! I did notice, however, that there was not enough dynamic contrast and while your cadenza was played well, at parts the notes were played to fast and were not coming out. I am a middle school student learning this song and you did a marvelous job and will inspire interpretation changes from me
How old you were on this record? I remember I played it after 6 years of learning clarinetr and it was something most beautifull what i was produced at that time. Your interpretation really recover my best memories. Anyhow, your performance is really good and musical. No need to go somewerr so fast, just try to be musical and articulated as much possible!
@@clarinetistdanielivanov8689 You probably have played it better than me, but I'm 13 and am playing this same exact peice for a recital in a few weeks. I love it! Also, thanks for the recording, it really helps me with some of the harder rhythms... Now if only I could tounge as well as you... :-)
I liked it better at 0.75x speed because it wasn't too fast and also it had the best musicality. I think it would have been a lot better if you played the slightest bit slower because it brings out the best of us. But it was actually really good and I wish you success in your clarinet career

Excellent tone and expression. However, I find you need to tongue a little bit more... Just keep it in mind for later performances. :)
But there isn’t much tonguing involved...

Ok then
Actually it probably is misprinted for me
Some of my 16th notes came out incorrectly on the page

what an actual mood
True.
You doesn't respect the piece, much fails by starting to the Kadenz. I have played this piece in the Concert.
You don't respect grammar.

the speed is not always the key :) if you want something fast try the Czardaz :)
