A gun that costs that much should run on virtually any ammo u throw in it.. I'm glad i came across this video because now i no longer want it like i did.. I was saving my money to buy it and hopefully purchase it soon.. Now i will be looking in a different direction.. Thank you for this, u just saved me 5k
As much as I geek over these kind of guns and still want to buy one, I would be pissed if I put 3-4 mortgage payments down on a gun and was told to use specific ammo. 😢 WTF! @SkipsGunz We appreciate ya bro!
Thanks for the follow up, more importantly, thanks for being a stand up guy that can come back in front of the camera and admit you were wrong! Says a lot about your character and your business practices, don’t stop being you!
I have been running s&b 124 grn for my match ammo for years. I have had zero issues. Other brands, not so much. I get it for $239/case free shipping. Great video!
Well, this explanation makes a lot of sense. Most every race gun is going to be tuned for a specific ammo loading. Good to know it's not an Alien problem, just a picky eater kind of situation! Great info, I don't think anyone has mentioned this before! Have a great weekend, dude!
SMH brother! That thang should shot a rock out of it. Shouts out to them for getting back at you thou. Another great video and thanks for turning me on to Callaway ballistic.🔥
Thanks for the video. I'm actually very surprised that you didn't trouble shoot the issue with different ammo on your own. I tried different ammo in my Alien when I first got it. No issues with the brands i use. My Atlas Titan paperwork recommend Blazer. So i bought several thousand rounds. I'm surprised that people get bent out of shape when a firearm dosen't run their choice of ammo. I always recommend, when asked about ammo. Buy a few boxes of different ammo and see what works and groups the best for your firearm. I know what works for mine.
The first time the barrel was actually gouged and they replaced it so there was no testing ammo there but when I got it back and had worse issue is when this all was figured out.
@SkipsGunz Yes!! You are definitely a genius at what you do. Different path to solve the problem. Hopefully I will have a Skipsgunz production DS sometime later in 2025. Merry Christmas to you and yours. And be blessed!!
I picked up one of the original ones a few months ago. I only shot it once and went through 4 mags of ammo. Good to know it prefers being dry, as I'm also used to having my guns looking like a miss Hawaiian tropic contestant! I also found out it prefers 124 grain or higher.
Had the retro model for a short time ran variety of ammo no issues. Just traded it in for a creator version. Should be here anyday now. First video had me worried. This video will help me alot. My first alien i cleaned all the time unlike my 2011s.
Glad I’m seeing more of these videos coming out from owners… finding info online has been stupid hard (from actual owners NOT third party) regarding these things locking up. I literally had the exact same issue as yourself, even sent the gun back to Laugo for them to take a look, and came to conclusion it was the ammo I was running - Blazer 124. When I initially picked mine up I ran blazer 115 and had zero issues. After switching to 124 it started locking up at say 1-3 mags so after some back and forth with Laugo they recommended Magtech 115/124 and S&B 115/124. Which I have now switched to and had ZERO issues. Granted I’m still paranoid now so I clean it after every outing, but at least during those range visits I have yet to experience the locking up. I’m still waiting for them to send me some replacement slide stops as I went through the original + 2 they sent me for testing as they started “curling”. I’m not sure if thats related to running the blazer 124 causing it to lock up but something to note/keep an eye on.
@@SkipsGunzAs am I - it’s a BEAST once you work out the ammo “quirks”… I just wish Laugo was a bit more clear on that side of things. I think it would benefit them as well from a customer service side of things.
Great video!!! However, Laugo should post on their website that they only recommend two manufacturers of ammo that are made with the same supplier for raw materials. Otherwise you have to read the forums to figure it out. For a nightstand gun, did they recommend a defensive ammo that would still cycle in the gun? I know it's designed to be a competition gun, but it just seems odd not to be able to shoot a defensive hollow point or a G2 or Underwood extreme penetrator round.
I had no problems with Winchester white box, 115 and 124 gr ammo. My gun hasn’t been finicky at all. Mine has ran, scorpion, western, federal. I have a few though through mine. Majority with Winchester.
Always run Magtech through mine, never an issue. Definitely a different animal from a 2011. It's special, but if you treat it right... It reciprocates.
S&B and Magtech ammo is loaded pretty much to NATO power levels. I have a Girsan MCp35. It didn't run well on light target ammo, ran about 80% using Blazer Brass 115. Got 1000 S&B 115 and it ate the whole case. Zero malfunctioning. The high power was designed for NATO spec ammo which is loaded a little "Stiffer" than SAMMI spec ammo is. Might be a similar issue ??
I've been wanting to say this for a week now but the context wasn't fitting, "the gun so nice you buy it twice" sigh of relief lifted off my shoulders...
Just a quick thumbs up and a quick answer…..YES 😅 especially for what they charge, just like the pitviper. Just get an XC or. Nighthawk Sandhawk and KNOW that you’re getting something that’ll do you right. Or just build up a Prodigy and stop complaining guys. You don’t always get what you pay for, but you’d definitely like something like a Prodigy a lot better if you did all the work yourself and made it the best you can. In the end, built not bought, is a good way to go if you don’t wanna be disappointed in the end. Just look at what Scott has made for himself….. go ahead, look at that wall! STR8 🔥🔥🔥 and he built em 😎
Hi I have a quick question on the Alien Guns you own. Which model would you recommend and why. The optic mounted on the moving slide or the optic mounted to the gun that stays still. Thanks Gary
I so want this gun!!! Anyway got a 2011 question for ya. So i have a prodigy and have installed egw ignition kits, hammers etc. But my safety is origional. After install my safety want to engage a little without hammer cocked. Is this a sear engagement issue or a disconnector problem?
I have one with 5,000 plus rounds and I had to replace the recoil spring after about 3k. I noticed the Alien likes longer rounds where the bullets are not seated as deep. Basically the opposite of most CZ guns.
It's not at all a bad gun, it's engineered to perfection. But sometimes demand exceeding suplies can give a company a hard time to maintain their stuff.
Hello, I got a c2 dragon grip from extreme shooters. (Bought second hand) and comes out the mag release hole is drilled open to far, wondering if you might know anyone I can send it to so they can refill the hole n except the mag release
Unfortunately that’s garbage at that point I have a prodigy grip and some other nice poly grips or our aluminum grip if interested email us Www.skipsGuns.com
Sorry, but if I’m spending multiple thousands of dollars on a gun, that bad boy better run flawless on just about every ammo and it definitely shouldn’t be as sensitive to fouling as the Alien apparently is. That’s just ridiculous.
I gave the last video a thumbs down cause I love my aliens. I had a feeling it was the ammo. I run the white box Winchester thru mine. It loves it and I’m not sure why.
It amazes me that you couldn’t figure out it I was an ammo problem or that you didn’t even try dif ammo before calling the manufacturer, that is amateurish at best
offf. a $6k gun should run on almost all factory ammo. why is it $6k anyway? are we really paying for good hardware or we just paying for the branding?
Yes its absolutely ugly and that bad..! Sorry Einstein, it is what it is bruh! Comment back to me prove me wrong pal! Let's get to the final chapter of the anticipated saga Einstein, for the 2A community!!! Nicely done setting the facts straight Einstein...😎

I will say it’s worth it if u run that ammo because it’s a different animal but I getit
As much as I geek over these kind of guns and still want to buy one, I would be pissed if I put 3-4 mortgage payments down on a gun and was told to use specific ammo. 😢 WTF! @SkipsGunz We appreciate ya bro!
Mine runs on anything, I think his is a problem of one as opposed to being common with all aliens. I’ve never read that people had issues with them.
It's definitely ammo picky and had all the same issues, clean and dry runs like a sewing machine!

Dave is a class act. I’ve known him for years and he truly cares when someone has issues. I’m glad he could help you figure things out.
I was truly impressed with him and Ian
You know what I'll do when my Alien stops working.........Send it to Skips Gunz!!!!!!!!

Top notch guys.

Thank you for actually replying to all the comments as best you can. It really does mean a lot to most of us even if it isn't said very much.

Good video, always interesting to learn something. Just saw your work on HO's DWX👍
Bought mine when first released, never had any issues.
Glad to see it back up and running full speed
s&b 115 is very spicy shit, I've clocked it at 1280 through my ported m&p 5", magtech is up there too 1230fps....while fiocchi gets me 1100.

How long is your wait time to get a gun customize by you? And how would I send it to you?
Depending on the job

Master class munitions loads a custom tailored round for the alien pistol specifically and the price is really not that bad all things considered
Hmmm now I gota get that
I run my creator lo with zero oil and have found that gives it the most success. Oil was the guns enemy, I was having the same lock up issues
Yeah I’m running dry from now on

Skip,
Lago Arms has a certain manufacturer make ammo for them. I forget the company's name. It's your ammo that it doesn't like.

It’s a good gun once I got that ammo cheat code but i totally get what your saying brother
Thanks Skip
Interesting. I have 2 buddies that have been left completely out to dry by the MFG..
they won’t return calls or emails.
Hi I have a quick question on the Alien Guns you own. Which model would you recommend and why. The optic mounted on the moving slide or the optic mounted to the gun that stays still.
Thanks Gary
Either one is fine it just depends on which you want if your not use to optics then try the non moving ones.
A patent we all need to expire
They have the gall to charge 5 grand but it cant run 80% of ammo
I so want this gun!!! Anyway got a 2011 question for ya. So i have a prodigy and have installed egw ignition kits, hammers etc. But my safety is origional. After install my safety want to engage a little without hammer cocked. Is this a sear engagement issue or a disconnector problem?
It’s a saftey not being fit to those internals issue you need to get new safteys
@SkipsGunz thank you, you have any recommendations?
I have one with 5,000 plus rounds and I had to replace the recoil spring after about 3k. I noticed the Alien likes longer rounds where the bullets are not seated as deep. Basically the opposite of most CZ guns.
Good to know
So if they buy it back what would be the discounted cost they would pay to buy it back?
It was a refund so the full price I’d assume but I’m keeping it
Was plated ammo causing the issue? I know Magtech and S&B are both fmj rounds. I may be totally off base, just curious
What solution do you use in your ultrasonic cleaner?
It’s a hornaday cleaner
I think the $7k price tag is ridiculous! And only in the weak 9mm cartridge
Probably rolled your eyes at my comment on the original video😂but it’s nice to know I’m as smart as their VP 😎
@skip what screws did you use to mount the 507 comp , the screws that came with the optic ?
I’m actually not sure there not the holosun ones Iv gota box of screws or il trim them to work
Please post that video. I’ve had the same problem with my creator. But I also have difficulty racking the slide.
Ok should r the next video
so what kind round he likes fmj 147grain-?? or like 115??
Had simular problems with wilson combat 9sfx3.25 only runs on 124 and up and only certain companies
Would love to see a video regarding the issue 🙏🏾
That was it the ammo I was shooting was putting to much lead in the recoil area
I meant a how to maintain the Alien…
What grain bullets run best in 2011’s or in your Romulus in particular?
Depends on tuning comps ports etc Iv only had that Romulus for afew days so not to much testing yet to answer
Merry Christmas 2A community!!!!
Back at you brother
Just my opinion but if your paying for a high dollar gun but can only shoot specific ammo is just insane

Oh no!
Hot Garbage???
Watch the video the entire thing
