Sides is the worst coach ever. Giving 0 for 8 Kelsey the last shot and CC not touching the ball is egregious! Also Aliyah Boston's dud and throwing that stupid elbow late in the game. Hull barely playing again until the 4th quarter. I swear this game pissed me off!
SMH I feel you! I'm pissed too! However, I pray that those ladies finally realize with CC at the helm they are never out of a game! Even down by 20+ going into the 4th! Can you imagine 4 quarters of "Showtime" bball? I can! When these ladies start living the dream instead of hoping for the dream to come true, they will be unstoppable! Remember this always! It's coming and I'm fully prepared to witness it all!🥤🍿

@@user-xp2gc9dn2g I'm not convinced if that yet. Yeah, the coach is accountable. So are the players! Missed shots are not a coaching issue! Nor or missed free throws. Turnovers are a buzz kill, too! The TEAM gave that game away! They decided to get serious after it was too late. The officials did help either. Sometimes you gotta get your ass handed to you before you decide to change and do great things instead of mediocre things. With the coach they have, they will succeed as a team. Or not! But, your point is taken.

Forth qtr is an example of what CC needs to when needed. This is what she did in college …take over the game when all else is failing. If she had a decent coach this would not be a loss.

Those basic back cuts are what I've been waiting for the Fever to do themselves, there are so many opportunities, but no coaching.
CC was practicing and getting ready at 730AM Sides showed up at 9 freaking o'clock. That is the word I heard. Not a good look. Sides is a joke.
Old saying from back in the day: Play .500 against the good teams, beat the feathers out of the bad teams. This was a game they couldn.t afford to give away.

That horrible turnover was actually a good pass the Mystics player tripped the Fever player the pass was intended for. Not putting the ball in a play for CC on the last possession was a huge coaching mistake. Mitchell was 0-8 at the time. CC was 5-9 from 3 and heated up. I agree this team must run and gun the entire game. Their half court offence is horrible and that's bad coaching. The same on defence horrible and the coach owns that as well.
Also totally agree about the refs. I'm a retired college referee and I don't understand how the level of officiating in a professional league can consistently be so bad.
It's crazy, right? I didn't ref at that level but I officiated youth games back in the day. That's why I said it didn't cause the loss because then people dismiss the complaining. But it really seems the officiating is very subpar a lot more often than not in the WNBA.

I'm not sure how it works in the "W" but NBA refs have to break down the tape right after a game and turn in a report to the supervisor. They have to see it because (As I was told dozens of times) "The eye in the sky don't lie"
If her team mates make 5 of those paint shots they win. If CC just pulls up a 3 instead of passing to EW KM NS AB they win. If Sides develops acute appendicitis they win

Because sides has no clue how to get her open looks. She only understands that CC can push but lacks the coaching ability to counter the doubles tactically to get her open looks. Like run a French screen or at least a stagger. I just don’t get why CC isn’t set up to take those end of game shots.

Saw a video earlier that said the Clark Report on X has CC breaking a record. Don't have X so I can not verify it. It said no WNBA or NBA player has ever had CC stat line she had today. 29points, 5rebounds, 13assist, 5steals and 3 blocks is a weird line. Most guards would never have 3 blocks.
Complaining about the blonde bombshell Kristi sides is like spitting into the wind. She's not going anywhere the fever management are very happy that the team is slightly better than last year and that they're keeping their own Superstar Caitlin Clark from hitting the game tying or game-winning basket in the last 20 seconds.
We all knew what was going to happen today. Mitchell got that shot late. And in my opinion she's capable of hitting a big shot but when you're over eight from three maybe she shouldn't be taking it when Clark was five for f****** 9 from 3. Let her take a 35-footer if she has to you might get along rebound if it's a miss.
But Caitlin deserves some of the blame for even wanting to be in the viper pit of the WNBA when she had another year at college on the table. She saddled herself with a bad team a horrible coach a terrible general manager and a lazy ass owner. Other than that things are going well for Caitlin. ;)
CC22's performance was a piece d' resistance. Sides should have just instructed her other screwy players to do a double screen or elevator screen for CC22 to do the final shots. The other players underperformed.. MEANING... her assists should have been HIGHER if only her teammates performed better.

There were at least 12 missed layups, 2 pt or 3 pt shots that were left on the court - that is a lot to leave there and not on the scoreboard
You have a hot passer, throwing to dead hands, a hot passer giving passes for easy layups that they miss, and a hot passer that provides the shooter with open 2pt and 3pt that they miss.
WTF is it with the way that coach runs that team, what do they run in practice?
I'd have the forwards and centers shooting 200 layups and 200 5 foot shots every practice. They're missing so many bunnies, it's costing them games.

You can thank Indiana Fever Coach Christie Sides for the latest loss to the mystics because of her ridiculously lousy excuse for coaching! In spite of Caitlin Clark's 29 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocked shots, the way that coach Christie Sides still ended up literally ruining every chance of victory, for Indiana Fever over the mystics, was blatantly obvious! Coach Christie Sides and the Indiana Fever team's general manager, Lynn Dunn, should've already been fired months ago!
Team - and CC - will never reach potential w/o new coach. Running is their secret sauce.
It's kind of crazy how our expectations have changed from the beginning of the season.
I remember ONLY caring about CC's stat line.
But now we all really care about the playoffs - we really want them to win now because we believe it is possible. They really sold us on their team chemistry and it changed CCFC's priorities.
Now about today's game...
Sometimes I feel like someone is waving a magic wand somewhere like in Harry Potter (Sorcerer's Stone) during the quidditch match! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why they play like they did again NY and why they play like they did today.
No matter. This season is going to be a nail biter AND the Fever will definitely be in the playoffs.
If what people are saying is true about stat padding for the double double streak of the century, then they will MAKE SURE CC's fan base makes it to playoffs with their super girl.
If the Fever don't make changes, people won't come back for season two.
It's a combo of being a young team and having a terrible head coach. It makes it difficult to put out consistently good performances.

Those turnovers in the first half did them in..missed shots is one thing (at least it was attempted), but not being able to get off a shot is another. Nice to see a comeback in the second half, a little too late though. And, you're right, Clark has tendencies to just stop/slow down after a turnover by her and/or missed easy shots by others//

Why in the world change up the starting line up after the win against NY? If you want to change it up, why not wait until break when you have a month to work on it. I think Hull is a good fit in the starting line up but should start Smith instead of Katie Lou. It obviously screwed up the chemistry because they were not ready to play. Like you said, they have to beat teams below them in the standings. (like the Sky did...smdh)
They played horribly in the first half...turnovers were ridiculous... could not make a basket to save their lives... Their second wind came too late
Katie Lou was pretty bad today, especially with TOs. NaLyssa should have started over her. For some reason, KLS just isn’t good as a starter.
On that jump ball, CC took responsibility for that and said she should of boxed out better. But yea, I thought Smith should have went harder for the ball. The Mystics just went harder after the ball the whole game than the Fever did, with Hull being the exception for the most part. Man, Hull hustled hard most of the game.
She's always going to say that. That's what she does. If you can find a good replay of it from behind, Smith lets that girl right in front of her. That should never happen on a jump ball.

Sides continues to not protect her players and needs to get a T on the very first bad call to set them straight hopefully you won’t have to do it again in the second half but even if she did get kicked out of the game they couldn’t do any worse than when she is coaching

They did seem a step slow to start the game both mentally and physically. It was a let down to see them start the 3rd so badly. Hull was the energizer bunny in the 4th. Mystics looked way better than their record. Did the Fever look past them? Mitchell 14 shots for 15 points. Clark 14 shots for 29 points and filled up the stat sheet.....hmmmmm
How many time does everyone have to say Lexi Hull has to play 30 minutes. She is the energizer the Indiana need. Katy Lou need to go to the bench. But I blame the players for most of this. They didn’t understand that success is probably harder to handle than adversity. Cc had some bad turnovers like the 8 second count so even though she stuffed the stats today I don’t consider it a good game for her
She had 5 turnovers, the team had 23. Boston had 5 herself. That's a problem the entire team has to work on.
There is saying that you learn more from losing than winning. It's obvious they didn't learn ANYTHING from the Liberty win. Do you think that they can learn anything from this loss? They're playing Phoenix again, the last time they played Phoenix I was sure they'd lose. And was surprised. Maybe I should go with that thought again.
CC had 5 open 3's in the 4th quarter that she did not take. Two she threw away. Three she gave up the ball that led to miss shots. Sometimes CC finds herself open and does not realize it or has a play in her head. CC was not the problem on offense. Once again Sides set up the last 16 seconds with a play design for Mitchell who loss her confidence in the game. CC did not touch the ball.

As before ya know it CC is then coaching too.Needs a good hands to read and direct these stallions.Its learning on the fly ,Maybe they all need to go paintballing or thrown into a dark room with a load of boxing gloves to let the issue come to the surface..the toxicity and issues that are not being managed well at all by the wnba and more seasoned players, has caused unnecessary issues,which obviously the teams and individuals will certainly be playing through too.
Hull had huge defensive plays in the 4 that all ended up converting, was sad cc didn't bring it up when asked about 4q
How on earth does NaLyssa Smith play 27 minutes and get TWO rebounds? That's insanely sad. That defense was like nothing I've seen before. All 5 of them. The only obvious exception was Hull in the 4th. She was a one woman wrecking crew. Clark can thank Hull for 2 or 3 of those steals she got credit for. Also, in the post game presser, Clark took the blame for letting them get that tip even though it clearly looked like Smith could have made a little more effort to get it.

Just noticed that Sides designed the last play of the game, down by 5, to go to..... Kelsey Mitchell 🤦♂ who had already shot 0-2 for 3PT in the 2nd QTR, and then 0-2 for 3PT again in the 4th QTR. I don't know, maybe Sides was going for the last shot, down by 5, with 16.2 seconds left. 🙄

Yep. She's a streaky shooter and if they are going in, it can be good but it she's not hot, she really hurts the team because she takes bad shots and doesn't do anything else well.

I don’t think it’s hustle but this team besides individual weakness has no idea on team defense. How is this not the focus of practice after practice. There’s too much desire and want to for me to believe CC and the others don’t want to get better, so what is being taught. I know Iowa played to outscore teams and defense wasn’t prioritized for Caitlin. She’s too bright not to learn how she can be better. I don’t believe that she just accepts that she sucks off ball.
She has improved a lot as the season has progressed. I'm guessing she will put a lot of work into defense during the Olympic break. She was getting beat too many times in the first half, but those steals in the fourth quarter were really something.

Caitlin had the opportunity to get a rebound off a missed 3 pointer but butterfingered it which resulted in a jump ball and Caitlin didn’t block Atkins out and she got the tip from Smith. So Caitlin messed up twice in the last 20 seconds when the score was 87-84. She had nice stats but her defense was atrocious, sorry , I have eyes and she needs to snap out of her trance on defense.She pays too much attention to where the ball is on defense and her girl back doors her all the time.
3 blk, 4 dreb, 5 steals, if her defense is atrocious then most everyone else is in the abyss. I'd scrutinize sides running a play for ice cold mitchell at the end.

I think that the Fever were jinxed by everyone and themselves by saying that the had found their footing after the Liberty game. Try not to say that again.
I probably should stop with my predictions at least half the time. Twice I was sure they would lose, Phoenix and New York, keep those, they're going to slay Seattle, let that type be left unsaid.
So I need to say/think (as strongly as possible) they're going to lose the Phoenix game on Friday. (I hope)
Chicago should be fine for making the playoffs; if that's what the coach wants to do. Maybe that's not the plan.
The schedule is good for the Fever. Remember the other contenders have a little harder schedule left and they have to win games too.
CC da goat 4 real. But you see where the rest of the players and coaches are at. It will take some time. As soon as Mitchell and Boston were named to the All-Star team, I would have put them on the trading block right away. You're never going to get more for them then in that moment. They took two steps forward against the Liberty and now one back. Progress is nonlinear. If this were a serious enterprise, they would replace sides at the All-Star break to give the new coach a couple of weeks with the team.
I’m no expert, but it seemed that they were rarely in position for any rebounds.
I was taught in Church League never to shoot unless your teammates are in position for the rebound, or get my butt in position for a rebound when a teammate was going to shoot. Maybe they don't use the basics....

Didn't you see with 1:25 left in the game after Indiana wins the tip kelsey Mitchell gets the ball and cc is asking her for the ball and kelsey waves her off instead of giving her the ball knowing she's the PG and making everything good happen. This just shows she's selfish and it's on sides to do something about it but she's such a bad coach she's won't do anything. Plus how she disrespected cc at the end by using cc as a decoy again instead of having her take the last shot. I'm tired of sides doing this and she also took her out the game for defensive purposes. Why? When she was playing good defensively with 5 steals and 3 blocks! Sides just cannot coach. Alyssa Smith was pissed being benched abd why change your lineup after a big win! This is why they lost the teams chemistry changed once she started lexie hull. I like lexie and she should get more time but this wasn't the time to start her
Yes this team plays great at times but the are not a consistent team . They have to win to many games to be in the playoffs and so with so much inconsistency they will not get into the playoffs . They give up on defense so much and constantly think about the offense more but your offense is way more efficient when you play great defense. This team has a lot of growing pain yet to come because you go beat a great team play your butts off then don’t show up for the Nexted game . You have to play hard every game or lose it’s the WNBA
Do WNBA coaches usually get fired midseason? I bet they don't do that as much as the NBA, because it's "mean."
Probably not. It doesn't seem like much firing goes on at all. In fact, the WNB oddly seems like one big team following a narrative, as opposed to individual teams competing.

Because as much as so many of us are calling for firings, it just doesn't seem it's even a remote possibility, because it's a mean thing to do. lol. I did sign 3 different Change org petitions for her firing, not that it matters, but for principle.

CC Catches fire in the fourth and doesn't take the last shot. Only 14 shots. Cc passes to Mitchell in the fourth leading to a turn over. She has the screen and opening to shoot but decided to pass no doubt sides influence. Clark is a great passer but passing up decent looks to pass which happens multiple times a game isn't the way. Coach is trash. K Lou has 9 rebounds and Clark has 5. So their goes playing a higher pace.
Why a diffetent starting line up on after their win?
I'm only guessing but from what I saw from Sides answering the question, it seemed like it may have been disciplinary and it's staying with the team.
