🇹🇷 Adana Street Food Tour: • Turkish Street Food!! ...
Istanbul, Turkey is a paradise for meat lovers, and today we’re going on an extreme Turkish meat tour! We’ll eat everything from Cağ Kebap to Buryan and a legendary Ocakbaşı. If you love meat, you’re in for a treat in Istanbul!
⭐️ Huge thank you to Culinary Backstreets: culinarybackst... - Use “Migrationology10” for a 10% discount on their amazing food tours.
📍 Şehzade Cağ Kebap (maps.app.goo.g...) - This legendary restaurant is famous in Istanbul for their Cağ Kebap, which is serves on a horizontal kebab. The lamb is so flavor and so tender it’s almost unbelievable. Owner didn’t charge me.
📍 Güvenç Konyalı (maps.app.goo.g...) - This restaurant specializes in meat dishes from Konya, Turkey, and especially long oven braised meats in their own juices! Owner didn’t charge me.
📍 Köfteci Yaşar (maps.app.goo.g...) - For a fast Turkish meat meal on the go, kofte is something very common. This hidden gem is located without the Egyptian bazaar. Price - 300 TRY ($9.19) total price
📍 Siirt Şeref Buryan 1892 (maps.app.goo.g...) - One of the kings of all meats in Turkey is buryan, originating from Eastern Turkey. The lamb is slow cooked in an underground pit, and you have the choice of both roasted and confited lamb ribs. Price - Owner didn’t charge me
📍 Akdeniz Hatay Sofrası (maps.app.goo.g...) - Although Akdeniz Hatay Sofrası mainly serves food from Hatay, they also have some meat dishes from around the country. I was especially excited to try their testi kebab from Cappadocia and their salt baked chicken. Price - Owner didn’t charge me.
📍 Zübeyir Ocakbaşı (maps.app.goo.g...) - Finally we couldn’t have a Turkish meat tour without Ocakbaşı, a barbecue grill right in front of you. Total price - 1,365 TRY ($41.82) for everything
An amazing tour of Turkish food and barbecue meat. Thank you again to Ugur from Culinary Backstreets.

I'm a chef, my speciality is Indian generally. I admire the creativity of chefs from all over the world, and have a passion for food. But when it comes to meat I can truly say the Turkish take it to a whole new level with their various cooking methods. Perhaps one day I can go and learn.

@@pauldouglas4587 the amount of stuff you have seen only scratches the surface. Chinesse is more of a closed culture. Anatolia has the oldest civilizations in history plus always targeted because of its strategic positioning. Countless cultures added to turkish kitchen, its a huge mix.Even chinesse kitchen oriented stuff is in there because origin of turks are from asia. So it is very hard to go against variety turkish kitchen offers. The reason why its not as well regarded in world is because of bad advertising.

O-My-Goodness!!! So far, this is my favorite episode of this tour!! Each & every restaurant is astronomical no kidding. I'm now convinced that when it comes to preparing lamb, Istanbul is the MVP champions. Me being a meat lover, appreciates every aspect of how the chefs prepares, serves, & execute these fantastic dishes. The chef at the 2nd location is phenomenal on how he caters to his guests ensuring a pleasant experience for all. When it comes to roasting lamb on a spit or underground, Istanbul is the Rolls Royce class in comparison. I'm so amazed with the wood fire ovens & charcoal grills but that underground oven is officially 1st class state-of-the art winner!! The way it's engineered using a pulley crane & zipline is pure innovation handling levels of racks of selected meats is genius. The meatballs looks so delicious & satisfying omgoodness!! Honestly, each restaurant displayed looks astonishing from the first to the last. No way I can be a vegetarian living around so many options of fantastic tender meats. Thanks Mark this was a slam dunk for sure lol!! Happy Father's Day & wishing you safe travels and many blessings always my friend!! Cheers!! 🌶🍖🥩🌯🥗🥛

Omg Mark! The last place you visited , an ‘OCAKBAŞİ’ was exactly the category of restaurant I visited in Ankara 4 years ago!!! At the time, I was simply looking for a meat-centric place for a late dinner .. didn’t think too much of it though it was memorable then because of how hospitable they were while I struggled to make sense of the menu and placed my order! And now here with your video, I get to relive that experience and what was it that made it great, and learn that I had stumbled across a truly Turkish ‘grill-front’ type restaurant! You’re the RUclipsr that keeps teaching me things - which probably means, its time to relook at your archive of videos too :P

@@Peyp59 I speak Kurdish and I don't understand a word of Persian LMAO what planet are you on? "Persian". Go and educate yourself. Kurds are an Iranic group of people who are Indo -European. That has nothing to do with Persia. Like every other group in the Middle East of course people are related and have similarities. Just like German and English. Doesn't mean they're the same. Kurds are Indo-European and Turks are further Eastern, Turkic, along Central Asia and even parts of China. Doesn't make you Chinese, does it?

Anybody noticed that Mark never takes the piece that’s on the side?
    If there is 1 2 3 he will take 2. If there is 1 2 3 4 he will take 2 or 3.
Same goes when something is in one piece, he tries to eat from the middle. At 52:15 he didn’t cut the corner of the knafeh, like the other guy but he cut and ate from the middle.

Also for döner you should try Bayramoğlu İstanbul or Dönerci Şahin Usta which is located near grand bazaar. Probably best places to eat döner in Istanbul.

Mark, the second chef flipping the 70/30 beef/lamb constantly, the flipping keeps the fat and juices from running out. It keeps all the flavor and the juices in the center. It's an old trick that Sicilians use in grilling meat and hamburgers. I wish I'd stayed in the restaurant business when I was young instead of going into government work. My family owned restsurants even while my dad was a government engineer. He was busy...
I miss cooking. I married late in life, unfortunately marrying a narcissist who has destroyed my will to do anything.
Let's see if i can get myself back up and going.
