The easy-to-follow guide to learning how to awaken your inner passions and become influential at work, step out of your comfort zone, and control your emotions to help with addictions and depression.
The 5-second rule is the opportunity to bring change in your life by teaching you one simple thing: HOW to change. By counting backward from five, you will learn how to wake up your inner genius, leader, rock star, athlete, artist, or whatever passion you have inside. Full of real-life testimonies of people who used this rule in unique ways to take charge of their lives, you can adopt this technique as well to change the trajectory of your life. Use the technique in a variety of ways: become influential at work, step out of your comfort zone, become more effective at networking, self-monitor as well as control your emotions and help with addictions and depressions.
Similar to Nike’s tagline “Just Do It!” which refers to what you need to do, the 5-second rule tells you how to do it. By using the word “just,” Nike acknowledges that we all struggle with pushing ourselves to be better and that we are not alone in this struggle. It acknowledges that we all need a push sometimes to get started, and by using the 5-second rule Meg Robbins helps give you that push!

Of course, you are going to take small action as she mentioned as you go, be kind to yourself, set boundaries to say more NO than yes to certain requests if others, and or your own unnecessary tasks that can be done later and get into more crucial tasks at hand NOW. 😉😀👍54321 GO

Thanks for the free summary. It’s surprising to know how some authors can write an entire book on such a single small idea. An idea that could be written as an essay/article is extrapolated into a book
At first I disliked this post but I'm changing it back to a like. The issue was I can tell I wouldn't like this book but your summary saved me from reading it so that's a like for you 👍🏼 Any time an author uses Rosa Park's story that way, it doesn't give me much hope for how much research they put behind other things in the book. She did not "just do it" because she was randomly tired and she was not unaware that she would spark a movement involving Martin Luther King Jr. It was a strategic step that took quite some time to plan and she was in multiple meetings with other civil rights activists before she took this step. I can't remember if she had actually gotten to sit down with Martin Luther King yet when she refused to sit but she was aware that he would be involved in the boycott once she took this action. You have reviewed some great self-help books that I later read in their entirety. Love your channel because so many self-help books are shallow and not based on much if any evidence. Thanks for what you do!
Many didn't know, and including myself, didn't know that another event in history sparked Mrs. Rosa Parks, the murder of Emmitt Till. I didn't learn that until they did the documentary of his mother and her fight for justice for her son and the fight the NAACP pushed by standing with her.
Mel is a connoisseur of the obvious
