The book draws from a variety of "spiritual traditions",[5] and has been described by one reviewer as "Buddhism mixed with mysticism and a few references to Jesus Christ, a sort of New Age re-working of Zen."[6] It uses these traditions to describe a "belief system based on living in the present moment".[7] Its core message is that people's emotional problems are rooted in their identification with their minds.[8] The author writes that an individual should be aware of their "present moment" instead of losing themselves in worry and anxiety about the past or future.[2]
According to the book, only the present moment is important,[5] and both an individual's past and future is created by their thoughts.[6] The author maintains that people's insistence that they have control of their life is an illusion "that only brings pain".[5] The book also describes methods of relaxation and meditation to aid readers in anchoring themselves in the present.[5] These suggestions include slowing down life by avoiding multi-tasking, spending time in nature, and letting go of worries about the future.[9] Some of the concepts contained in The Power of Now, such as the human ego and its negative effects on happiness, are further elaborated in the author's later books, in particular A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (2005).[

I know it is 2 years later now, but hey, I am 57 and okay I have not been totally asleep forever but still I am waking up more and more. So yeah, what's age my dear?

This is my second time coming back to your video in less than 3 months.
It really does refresh.
And it’s affects are different this time.
I understood the message the first time, but this time the message stood out even more.
My ego was trying to take me over again, which was I had to return.
And I remembered what this means again.
Just like you said in the beginning of the video.
Your ego sees you winning and it wants to take you out with other tactics.

thank you so much for making this video, it is helpful to make me more clear. I have read a number of times, when i read it, i feel peace and follow the words in the book, i become calm and no anger, no resentment, because i'm aware of all the resentments and anger are created by the thoughts from my ego. But once i put down the book if i don't read it for a long time or if i forget, my pain body sometimes is still activated.

A book is great when a different type of people with different backgrounds and different upbringings found something in it that is useful to them. For me, I am studying spiritual books like Maharshi book "Who Am I?". What Eckhart Tolle Power of Now is, he goes behind the consciousness, go back to the source, and he speaks to you from the source. When speak from there, if you can feel it, you will see that your mind or ego is just a construct. Slowly this construct will be chipped away.
One good reference is the screen and the movie. When the projector is turned on, you see the moving pictures. Now the projector is turned off and you see only the screen. The Power of Now is speaking to you from behind the screen.
Thank you Joseph...this pandemic has compelled us all to be ‘present’ and in the now. Right ‘now’ offers us great opportunities for growth. Your work is invaluable. With much appreciation from Ireland. ✌️
