  • As you can see, I am a bit excited about the steering on this Jeep now, mainly because I went 4 years fighting my JK all over the road. Not gonna happen in the JT!

    My Max Tow Gladiator has 13,000 miles and it drives just fine, the steering is tight, precise and tracks smoothly down the highway at any speed. I have stock suspension with takeoff Rubicon Fox shocks and 35 inch tires. I kept the stock steering stabilizer. I've taken it to Colorado and done the Alpine loop, Carson ghost town loop, Oklahoma K trail & many other unknown four wheeling places. It's not a mall crawler. My point is: unless you have issues don't fix what's not broken.

      If you encounter any steering problems in the future, just upgrade the stabilizer, done it on my rigs in the past. Works.

      Steering Stabilizers wear out faster than shocks. A new one can eliminate steering wobble completely.

    I need to do something to my 2018 JLUR. Its not terrible but does require constant input into the steering wheel. Interstate/4 lane good highways isnt bad at all but these little country roads with dips and such is awlful. The strange part is that when I lifted it and went to 37’s I figured it would get worse but it didnt.... I have bought the steering box brace from Synergy. Hope that helps. Now I’m hearing rumors that Jeep is actually replacing some steering boxes....

    The wandering steering root cause is due to the aluminum steering box. There is a recall. The Steer smarts is showing issues with bending TRE's at the threads. Keep an eye on it. Furthermore, the SS TRE studs are SMALLER than stock and use their bushing system. These are breaking INTERNAL to the TRE end, snapping cleanly. Get your recall done. Keep your stock system (or upgrade to something better such as synergy or RPM) and stop spending money on snake oil.

    • @SteerSmarts
      @SteerSmarts 3 года назад +2

      You’re incorrect in your statements about these breaking off internally and being weaker than the stock because of the straight shank design with taper sleeve. The purpose of our design is to keep the steel stud from galvanically corroding into the aluminum knuckle. The week point is definitely the aluminum knuckle and not our stud - we know this from our extensive testing as well as from customer feedback from those who have been in front end accidents and our products were both straight and undamaged - they actually ripped the knuckle boss off of the aluminum knuckle. (In addition to our torture testing we also have photos and actual products that sent back to us with the aluminum knuckle boss still attached to our end). If there was a failure with the stud as you described it was d/t improper installation with the customer not following the torque instructions or not using one or more of the included parts - again, failure to follow installation instructions.

      @@SteerSmarts unwarranted belittling me, to try and hide the weak TRE's, only proves me correct. Thank you...
      Oh, and you might want to start looking at the thread section of the TRE's. Seeing a few with bent sections at the exposed threaded area. Maybe time to take them over and get some Rockwell testing on all components and share with the world.

    • @SteerSmarts
      @SteerSmarts 3 года назад +2

      @@mcoffroadinaz4075 not belittling you, but unless you’ve spent the time, effort, and money that we have to design high quality and reliable pieces like we have, what validity does your opinion have? Apologies if we offended you, but you are making claims that you have no backing for, so what does that say of you?
      The parts aren’t indestructible. Where someone might make a mistake or have an issue and bend our end, our competitors product will break a stud or snap an end, which leaves you stranded on the trail.
      You talk about unwarranted belittling - take a look in the mirror.

      Jeeps are still made in Toledo Ohio by the same people with the same factory equipment. Been that way since 1941. Fiat bought them, but it's not like they have changed everything over. All that changed is the address of the home office.
