This is a schooling. That record in the background sounds incredible. I will be seeking all of these out. You are providing such an invaluable service for people like me, please keep doing what you’re doing.
Found a copy of Orgonomic Music in the UK (£5 plus £4 shipping). Best £9 I’ve ever spent. Thanks for turning me on to her. Absolutely fantastic album. Mastered by Bob Ludwig as well and sounds fantastic. Cheap heat indeed!
Hi thanks for this video I’m from the uk so I’m not sure if I’ll find any of these jazz records here i enjoyed the New England jazz quartet in the background .. best wishes from Manchester 👍
Hi Rob - I lived in Leeds for 2 years (1990-92)!! Many of my vids feature Europe-only LPs or LPs that were issued worldwide… this one does have a domestic bias.
Love John Lurie. Fishing with John is my favorite DVD of all time. I have been hoping to find Lounge Lizards LPs cheap but I keep seeing them for 20+. Also I dig his Marvin Pontiac stuff. Going to keep an eye peeled for that LP with Don Cherry on board. Great stuff again Dave.
Just found the Marvin Pontiac CD at a thrift store! It’s pretty great. “Fishing With John” is one of those shows whose very existence seems like a minor miracle, in retrospect. I was shocked to see that Lounge Lizards LPs were going for $15 to $20 on EBay & Discogs… but they are all that good!
Great video, fascinating as ever , I will be trying the Jessica Williams material and see what I can find . A quick listen actually reminded me a little of Keith Emerson .
Loving it ! and the shout out to John Coltrane 68 I need to check out , any channels with this type of info I dig . A fusion / prog / psych digger for 10 years now .
@johncoltrane68 has a lot of great videos… lots of ethnic, avant garde, electronic and fusion lps. He is THE most knowledgeable person in the private press LP game that I’ve encountered. Also a wonderful human being!
I like the Fender bass comment that you buy the record without even hearing it, they are no brainers. I like both the Jazz and Precision bass sound. Though Precision is far more in yer face. And I am a huge Rhodes fan. But with Rhodes I think many people are. I can never get enough Fender Rhodes listening.
Having looked some of this great stuff up, for us poor souls in the UK and Europe, this is unfortunately some quite expensive heat. Heat nonetheless but the plane tickets for these records are extortionate. Very few available outside the US.

great stuff as always Dave!

His -Lurie's- most recent work was 4 or 5 episodes of "Painting with John."

@Lou Contino - we are indeed kindred spirits! Hope you & yours are well. Thanks for watching…
Tell em on Jessica Williams 💖.
People gotta know!!!
Look for John Lurie's book, "History of Bones." It's quite a ride.
my man

I’m well aware! Euro- & UK-centric ‘episodes’ are in the offing. Yeah it’s a major bummer how US postage costs have increased over the past few years…
