Awesome digs Dave. A lot of cheap heat staples (Weather Report, McLaughlin's My Goals Beyond which is amazing indeed, Jan Hammer, Eddie Harris...). Amazing.
Wow nice catch. Lots of stuffs i've never heard of before. I think the one Capability brown could make my day as i am currently very into British Prog Rock and always glad to discover obscure bands of that genre. Thanks for sharing
fun video, enjoyed seeing you work 'in the field'. i dug through slolow's bins at the antique shop, but it was clear that was a tiny sliver of what they have in the warehouse. gonna check out this carl craig project, look like cool records.
Great to see some of that convention and hear your commenting on many of them. Great prices too if they were in pretty good shape. I'll have to keep that convention in mind.
Hey glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks. To clarify: This wasn’t the convention. I missed that (for good reason - I was playing a gig!!). This was a warehouse clearance - everything for either $1 or $5 - that took place in July 2022.
What sort of jazz do you want to hear? I can recommend fusion type stuff that has some parallels with prog… if you already enjoy Area, Arti + Mestieri, Duello Madre, Osage Tribe, Cincinnato, Daedalus (1st LP), Perigeo, etc., you will likely enjoy a lot of fusion-type jazz right away.
David Sancious & Tone “Transformation (Speed of Love)” Alphonso Johnson “Moonshadow” George Duke “The Aura Will Prevail” Allan Holdsworth “Velvet Darkness” and “I. O. U” Mahavishnu Orchestra “Birds of Fire” and “Inner Mounting Flame” Jeff Beck “Blow by Blow” and “Wired” Jan Hammer “The First Seven Days” Jan Hammer & Jerry Goodman “Like Children” Jan Hammer Group “Oh Yeah?!” Stanley Clarke s/t Return To Forever “Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy”
A lot of these dollar Lps are your 'bag', so to speak. If you can tolerate Jazz Rock/Fusion, or most of it, you can still build up a large collection for not many dollars, although I see a lot of stores asking 5$plus for these now. My local store puts out boxes of cheapies once a year, I try and go as like many they are rock focused, so tend to put out high dollar items and rarities by mistake, due to a lack of interest/nous. I need to listen to that Rascals must have often had it but assumed it was dull pop/rock/psych from the 60's, so never spun it.
Hope I didn’t mislead you on the Rascals lp. I’ve had it… really nice mellow jazzy soul rock - long tracks. I’m sure you could check it out on RUclips.

So much quality music for so little.
Better than any garage sales here that is for sure!

The Gasca I would have been stoked to find. Joe Henderson is great on his records.
Cool to see another RUclips channel from someone in Albuquerque. I do not make videos any more tho.

Si senor, would have been fun.
Thanks for one of the more interesting digs in a long time. I would have dropped a couple of hundred bucks for sure. Cheers.
Scott lindunmuths first lp is gold, wish I could find these in my local $1 bins! There not there !!
I need to check that one out again… I recall cheesy 80s keyboard sounds on that one, but maybe I was wrong.
Could you name ten jazz records that you love? Personally, I love Italian progressive rock, but I'd like to take a look at jazz.
