WOW! GOOD MORNING! I'm just listening to the opening track off of Debarbat & Dolphin Orchestra - Prologue, I never heard this before today and I swear it takes me to 1981 Crimson's Discipline album. However, this was done 4 years before Fripp & Co.. I wonder if Sir Robert was influenced a bit off this track? Just a thought. Incredible stuff here, thanks so much for your kindness in sharing these.
No excuse for anyone not to have the cahen zao's and especially surya!..that becker has been on my want list for awhile..definitely unique and a cool lp!..much love chris
Love your videos man! Keep it going! I thirst for knowledge!! Hha maybe you could do one on some of your personal collection too some ones you love, like more expensive or rare, but this is great because I can actually buy them!
Interesting that you recommended Typhareth over the earlier Shekina. But I get it, Manu Katche is coming in on that one. I’m just partial to Jean-My Truong on drums. He had that flowing style that I like ( ala John Marshall of Soft Machine).
You’re right... of course, both Osiris & Shekina are ultra mega classics, but they are not ‘cheap’ these days by any stretch of the imagination. I’m only discussing LPs that are great AND inexpensive. Otherwise, I’m just like the scores of other old dudes talking about their LP collections.
Hi Mauro - I used to be in a sort of weird punk band called Bichos & when I signed up for RUclips... that was the first thing that popped into my mind.
Maaaan, why am I only seeing this video now in October? I'm subscribed, is there some way for me to push notifications of new vids on your channel so that they show up near the top of my feed? Is it because you aren't sponsored by some super-mega-corporation and don't have a bunch of ads in your videos? I was missing out on my dose of cheap heat.
You should get some sort of notification if you subscribe. Mine show up when I get on to YT... there’s a little ‘bell’ icon that you can click on. Also I think you can set up your gmail account to get notifications... but I subscribe to so many channels that I turned that off years ago.
@@El_Bicho_Feo Yes, I guess I haven't been checking the little bell and I never had Gmail notifications set up. Most of my subs are comedy-related because who doesn't need a a good laugh, but they tend to be feeds with way too many videos, so I guess yours just got "drowned out". If I can customize the Gmail notifications maybe that is the way to go. And since I have you here -- he's not exactly obscure, and he doesn't fit easily into the genres you usually cover, but I am continually struck by how much Ben Sidran is overlooked. Those records with Clyde Stubblefield and Phil Upchurch have great material on them, and I routinely see them in VG+ to NM condition priced as low as $3.
Shit, you cut your prog-rock hairstyle... now, based on your cut, you're a mainstream classical piano soloist... or a mastering engineer... looks good either way. I mentioned Francois in your last video. I have that record. Great record. I have no Zao in my library. I remember my dad having a few of their records. Aside from Cahen, and maybe a couple of others... the rest were new to me. Great wantlist additions. Thanks Dave - TONE
