The jammu city was founded by Raja Jambulochan when he saw a tiger and a goat drinking water from the same pond. He realised this is a place of great tranquility and coexistence so he built a city there with thode ideals. These ideals are the spirit of the whole Jammu division. To live peacefully and coexist together without discrimination or prejudice. You'll find all faiths living together peacefully and respecting each other's beliefs.
It is said that, on becoming King, the Suryavanshi Jambu Lochan went on a hunt and, crossing the Tawi, found a deer and a tiger drinking water from the same tank. His ministers explained that this meant that the soil of the place was so virtuous that no living creature bore enmity against another. Raja Jambu Lochan, who lived in the later vedic period, decided to found his capital , Jambupura, on his soil, on the right bank of the Tawi, overlooking his brother king Bahu’s fort. Today the temple of Maha Kali ( better known as Bahu or Bawey Wali Mata), located in the Bahufort, is considered second only to Mata Vaishno Devi in terms of mystical power. The present temple was built shortly after the coronation of Maharaja Gulab singh, in 1822. The existing fort, as well as the Manasabdar’s palace inside it, was constructed in 1820. Jammu is an underrated beauty of India. While it may not be as developed as other cities, its simplicity is what truly makes it special. My two years in Bangalore and even though I have fully adopted its culture, Jammu is where I'll forever find my comfort. Watching this video brings back a wave of nostalgia for those good old days. Thanks for covering this, Karl.

I am thrilled to watch your jammu series ❤basholi is near my hometown…m more thn happy tht you are exploringa and covering this region of jammu …basholi painting are world famous and basholi pashmina recently received prestigious GI tag also .jammu is as beautiful as kashmir but its just tht this place is unexplored…❤ welcome to jammu

Hey Karl - this is my late night watch but want to mention that I am glad you are sorta getting back to your roots by putting out videos like this for yea… this is the content that I truly enjoy

Finally karl doung a proper Jammu vlog! Jammu is distinct in every way to kashmir ,peaceful and disteinct culture and a land of true warriors who carried expedition till the very heart of ladakh. Looking great!
Thnx for exploring jammu division..also explore kishtwar .. specially warwan valley, padder valley and sinthan valley of district kishtwar of Jammu division
Thanks for visiting and making a video on Jammu. It’s my home town and seeing Jammu getting in limelight anywhere makes my heart swell! Although I was expecting coverage of some more culturally significant icons/history in this video - Hari Palace, Pahalwan di Hatti, history of Kashmiri migrants living in Jammu and blended cultural heritages of Dogras and Kashmiris, locally famous food, major shrines etc.
The most captivating vlog of Jammu and Kashmir yet, showcasing its breathtaking beauty. Looking forward to seeing more vlogs of you exploring places like Doda district (Bhaderwah) and Kishtwar!❤

While I've been to Jammu a few times, I only could visit the city. Never knew this side of the state and now that I do, I wish to have joined you for the trip. Can't wait to see the next part
Do come, jammu and samba are like the plain areas but when you move out from there you'll see the natural beauty there which are mostly unexplored cuz the kashmiri politicians never made it come to the forefront. Out of 10 districts in the Jammu division, it snows in 8 of them.
Karl you are such a great person you are showing real India rather than other youtuber just showing poor peoples and garbage place just for more views but you are showing the real thing greenly and how the Indian people are the , god bless you ❤😊

Another epic Indian journey Mr Rock, I'm in for the series and thanks so much for bringing India and her wonderful people's to those of us who cannot travel. Much love from Ireland 💕🇮🇪
When you visit India, keep an open mind. Many visitors from Europe, US, etc have no idea that India is diverse, and vast country. It is not a small country with homogenous population speaking in a common tongue! India can delight you one moment, and shock you in another. You can be in an ultra modern cyber city one moment, next you can be in a crowded and ancient part of the city. So take it as it comes and enjoy your visit. Be safe!
These lands have a distinct culture. The British failed to tame it and convert north India into sedate Britainesque villages. I don't know if many western tourist will like this kind of ruggedness. For the rough it out trekkers and bag packers this can be an option. However with push from current govt maybe they have developed pockets for foreign tourism in this area as well.
