    That boat looks like sort of a basket case but definitely looks well worth the work. Been enjoying watching the progress, bet you can't wait to be able to camp in it. Cheers to you good sir 😊👍

    Yup. Keep picking away at the boat work projects. Launch when it's ready. You are doing great. The previous owner was a bit of a clown when it comes to repairs and service, huh ?

    Good vid thanks, you can get more life out of that starter, as said before just rebuild it. To find a replacement just use the motor information. love the vids stay safe.

    AllI can say is. Old chevy starters can give you fits getting them shimmed.
    I would find a rebuilder.

    Starters for marine applications are spark/explosion proof. Gasoline vapors are heavier than air, a bilge is the lowest area of the boat. Gasoline vapors DO collect in the bilge BOOOM

      It's got a bilge blower for when the engine cover is on there. I still need to rebuild that thing.

    After you fix it up, you should make torpedoes to launch from it. I saw a video where they put a gopro on a practice torpedo, but you couldn't see much because it was sub launched.

    Man it is so cool to see you work on the boat man. You really know what you are doing. If you don't mind me asking are you a boat mechanic? You know a lot man. & i love how you doing all the work in your sandals too. I am the same way man I do all my work in flip flops or Barefooted 👣 because i have big very very extremely wide foot with very chubby fat wide toes that are equally straight across making my foot very very wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. It's very very hard to fines flip flops or sandals that are wide enough to fit my foot so i just go Barefooted 👣 alot. Depends on where I'm at my wife gets a little worried about me being barefooted 👣 because she love my extremely wide feet with very chubby fat wide toes that are evenly straight across. & with both of my lil toes hanging off the Footbed of the flip-flops my wife think my toes look so cute in flip-flops. I have 6 boys & they all have very wide feet too & they wear nothing but flip flops year round too because shoes and socks crushed and hurts their feet too. I am definitely a Sandals guy just like you which is awesome man.

      I'm not a mechanic, I just stumble my way through stuff! And yeah sandals are great, my feet are kinda between a 12 and 13 so it can be hard to find comfy shoes.

      @@saveitforparts Oh OK you just know a lot. Man that is awesome. Yes sandals are so awesome to wear. OK you have big feet 🦶 too. Just be glad your foot 🦶 is not extremely wide like my foot 🦶 is 6 1/2 inches wide. I know what you mean about finding footwear that is comfortable cuz I can't find no footwear that I sz15 in the store for me. Especially a shoe. I have to special order my flip flops 🩴 for me. My 3rd son John His foot 🦶 is a sz 13 & he is only 12 years old with a foot 🦶 is very very extremely wide too like mine at 4 1/2 to 5" inches wide from his big toe to his lil toe with big toes that are Evenly straight across like my toes are. ( Father like son ) I think my son John foot 🦶 is going to be extremely big of he is only 12 years old and have a sz 13. I think he going to EZ be a sz 17 when his foot 🦶 stop growing. It just so awesome man to see you do these projects and your sandals like I did in my flip flops 🩴. Please keep doing these projects in your sandals man. I love see that cuz I am a sandals lover man. I just love my sandals man.

    Use a heavier gear lube like 85-140 , you could try a bit of brake fluid in there to swell the seal . Those Delco-Remy starters are common they go by the engine not the starter I.e. small block Chevy use the same , big block Chevy uses a different one , you can get a gear reduction starter but why not rebuild that one ? Kits are a lot cheaper !

    Will you ever go rail karting again

    • @saveitforparts
      @saveitforparts  2 года назад

      Yep, probably later in the fall or early spring when there are less weeds on the track. I have new wheels that I need to put on it, but I've been busy with boats all summer :-)

      @@saveitforparts it’s nice to know you will continue rail karting and if your busy that’s ok (not like I can) force you to do something when your busy

    For the starter, get it rebuilt. There are lots of alternator and starter rebuilders all around and they do a good job (typically). For the tarp, the green or blue or white ones all suck for longevity. Try the ones that are silver on one side and black in the other. I have found them to last a long time.
