We're locals, living a short distance from Brugge. We've never seen this city this way before. Fantastic videography capturing the beauty of Brugge and especially so with almost no tourists and without any tourist boats at all the canals act as mirrors to double our viewing pleasure. Thank you so much for this, we wish you all the best and hope that your health is soon back to full strength. Take good care. Philip & Luc
Hmm maybe not. I knew Brugge in the late 70’s and it was wonderful. Friends of mine visited in 2018 and while they found it beautiful they said the experience was spoiled by overwhelming crowds because it’s now one of the top tourist hot spots of Europe. While I could go back at any time I prefer to remember it the way it was. Of course this might not concern you, just a bit of advice 😊😊
@@paullewis2413 I think it is the same anywhere in the world we visited in the 70s. Trips now unbelievable could be done such as UK to Australia “ Overland” . Good to remember things as they were. No chance of us being allowed to leave the country until mid next year.
I took the train from Brussels to visit Bruges in 1999. It was as quiet, peaceful & beautiful as this scenic video. There were no crowds & it really felt as if time stood still from hundreds of centuries ago.
Because of Covid it is quiet. But normally it is overflowing with tourists. Unbelievably busy normally. Also in the canals there are many tourist boats, now it is quiet ans zen. A unique moment recording this video.
Amazing architecture and magical scenes that look like they come straight from a fairytale. Thank you for sharing! I will watch this one over and over again!
I've been in Bruges 2 years ago, it is a stunningly beautiful city. I especially liked the places near the water where swans swim - such a peaceful feeling! Doctor, all your videos are perfect - your choice of subjects, your shooting skills, your choice of music. Talented person is talented everywhere :)
When I first visited Belgium 20 yrs ago,I felt like I was in a fairy tale, even though it was raining aaaall the time!! I spent 2 weeks in wonderful, charming Namur as a volunteer in an international workcamp, digging the ground on a medieval city fortress, enjoying a beer outside on rainy evenings.....crazy!!! I miss that so much.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for posting this video of Bruges (Belgium) it truly was an eye-opener on how beautiful this city is. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos
We stayed in Bruges for a few days and how every corner brings back incredible sweet memories. Thx for reminding me how my love blossoms with my partner in this romantic medieval city. We are married now & wish I could one day bring my partner there again! Greetings from down under, Melbourne Australia 🥰
Hi Traveler, how are you feeling? Bruges is a beautiful city. And amazed at how it is all pedestrianized (read: Very little cars) which only maintains it's medieval charm. Beautiful. I love old churches. Hope all is well.
So lovely to ”go back” to Belgium. I lived and studied there almost 20yrs (!) ago and visited quite a few cities. The country has a really good network of both lit highways and traintracks that it’s a pleasure to explore all the historic cities. I wish you’ll upload more cities yet, such as Antwerp, Binche, Liège and of course Brussels. Thank you anyway for your videos, they are always such high quality and informative. Nice that you have recovered from the virus, all the best to you! 🤩
I had an opportunity to visit Bruges in 1999 while in the travel business. It is indeed one of the most beautiful cities I had ever seen. We rented bikes and toured around and also took a canal boat trip. Wonderful time in a lovely city!
The flowers whisper and the trees shout. Life is buried in the sway of the leaves. The wind carries the language 😌 I can only admire the amazing scenery.👍
Excellent video. I lived in the Netherlands in the 90s and Brugge was my favorite city for a weekend retreat. I visited as much as I could. Thanks for the memories. I will return.
Gosh, this is unadulterated beauty., looks like fairy tale. Thanks God it resisted to modern architecture and technology that just spoils everything. Thank you for this video. I will dream about this magic city for a long time.
I was thinking this was taken at dawn but then I realised wow! This is probably the most unique view of the city that post pandemic people will see as a lesson in history
Bruges is an incredible place .. I went in December 2017 and spent a day ... we traveled from Brussels which was where we spent Christmas. Everyone says that to see Bruges you have to visit it one day. But I was left wanting much more. and I hope to go in the future for 2 or 3 days and enjoy the city quietly. Greetings from Gran Canaria
Welcome back. I have said it all before so I won't repeat, but your videos are utterly perfect in every way. This video has convinced me that, although I am a a lover of Venice, Bruges is even more beautiful. Thank you for this most hauntingly beautiful work.
I have been traveling the world together with my partner for over ten years now and one of the things we love the most is the freedom that travel and this lifestyle gives us. So your video brings us back some adventure, excitement, things that we lost the last year and we definitely need....... Thanks for sharing, keep going my friend!!!!!!
Hey doc. Consider yourself blessed to be living in Belgium. Bruges seems like such a magical place. Out of a fairy tale. I appreciate the way you have panned your camera on the spires and the pristine blue sky. Incredible. Belgium will be next on my travel list. Can"t wait to see the new video you have uploaded.
When there is no tourist in front of the camera, it feels like watching the scenes from a movie with the background set in the Medieval Age. Very beautiful place, very peaceful as well.
Oh thank you for this. It’s bring back so many memories. I was visiting Bruges during my first trip to Europe in September 2019. Such a peaceful place with beautiful architecture.
I like this video which shows still water of the canal reflecting the builings above it and the beauty of the stained glass windows. Bruges looks more beautiful through your camera. Thank you
You captured this city so beautifully-stunning videography! I will hopefully be visiting Bruges in Oct. ‘21 & am now more excited than ever to get there. Thank you for this lovely tour!
@@SAZTravel The other aspect about Bruge and the images shown in the video is that it isn't one of those places you can cover ina few hours and be done. Bruge is a comparatively large city and you will need to spend a few days there to get the benefit of the day ambience, evening and night. To fit that all in, needs time.
Me and my Mrs used to go to Bruges twice a year. We can not go anymore because P&O ferries have stopped doing the trip. Absolutely gutted. We miss it so much.
In September I am doing a house swap for a month here. I recently retired to the Costa del Sol in Spain. Your video is perfect. Very informative. Am more excited than ever to experience this historic beautiful city.
Beautiful footage!♡ Your video makes it feel as though we have the city all to ourselves on such a gorgeous day, not having to experience it along with the eight million other tourists. Although, it might be worth it if it means getting to pop into those chocolate shops.♡ Thank you so much for this one. ♡♡♡
Dreamy😍! So beautiful. Thanks for the intimate tour. I have been living in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2014 and I never knew that such a romantic city was so close. I welcome the change in pace. See you next Saturday! Stay well! 💐
I have always wanted to visit Bruges, thank you for this beautifully shot video. Your choice of day and time of day made for a very artistic video. Hope you are feeling better.
I grew up in the center of Bruges and it breaks my heart to remember thinking it was an overrated shithole. But visiting it now every once in a while (I'm in college and live in a bigger city nowadays), I see the true beauty of Bruges and I've learned to appreciate it more. I'm glad to see others enjoy it as well! I used to hate it because there isn't that much to do for the younger generations. For example when going out, a lot of restaurants and bars are mostly catered for tourists and unfriendly towards the locals, unfortunately. Also, the huge amount of tourists can be an annoyance for the locals, crossing busy streets without looking for traffic, standing in the way to take pictures,... So if you come to visit, please keep that in mind! Be friendly and be considerate for others around you! :)
Thank you so much for this video!!!! It reminded me so much of my years in Europe and how those years were filled with that feeling of my ancestry! You're the best!
That for me was an utterly delightful trip down memory lane! As I used to visit Brugge in the early to late 60's and then back in the eighties too! I have ben up the belfry and played the Carillion (I hope I have spelt that correctly? ) You see, I only ever head the names verbally and never saw the spelling as a young lad of 6-9 you see! Thank you for that delightful trip! I do hope you have got ride of the virus by now??
Such a gorgeous city. While it’s a shame that we’re unable to travel to such a city, this video looks all the more impressive without the tourists everywhere. Its like you’ve taken a step back in time.
I took a short solo trip to Belgium last year's Feb before this Pandemic. Unfortunately I only explored Brussels, I sometimes regret why the hell I haven't been to Bruges. Damn I don't even know when this pandemic will get over and I'll plan to Belgium again most probably.
The belfry sounds like it has a full carillon inside of it. We have one near me called Bok Tower in Lake Wales, Florida. It sits on the highest point in Florida and the tower is made of pink marble. It's a favorite spot of mine, as well as for other artists and patrons looking to relax in the beautiful gardens that are surrounded by orange groves
Thanks for sharing your excellent video and make me remember one of my favorite laces in the world. Wish we could be there now! But Florida is not a bad alternative.
