That’s what we call high-waters. Jeans too short, and also way too tight. Your jeans should be touching the spur shelf on the back of your boots, and creased at the vamp in the front. It helps to order a size longer than you usually wear.
Slim jeans are a bit weird, typically with boots the unwritten rule is loose jeans, with cowboy boots tuck your jeans into your boots, and with work boots you go over. Either way not bad, jeans are a bit weird for me though.
It's the other way around, when you're riding a horse, cleaning out the stalls, or generally working in a really muddy or messy area, you tuck your jeans into your boots so you don't mess them up with literal crap, but when you dress up, that's when your jeans go over your boots, and you always want to make sure you have boot cut jeans so the boot shaft doesn't show when your jeans are over them, and make sure they're long enough that they the bottom of the jeans are covering the back of your heel counter.

Great to see more people are trying this style. For this style of boot definitely try Levi’s 501’s or wrangler cowboy cut. They’re Slim through the thigh with a straight leg. Get a longer length than your normal so they stack (bunch at bottom).
Try it again and you’ve got it chief, maybe some wranglers that fit good and some kind of button up that’s not just white. Less your goin to a wedding I wouldn’t recommend it. Try a pearl snap and some non slim fit jeans and you got it man.
Ok, for round 2…boot cut jeans do come in cuts that accentuate your thighs and rear (just ask King George), don’t cuff over boots that aren’t Docs, cowboys only wear white shirts at funerals so get a patterned shirt with pearl buttons!
I’m a western boot and style fan. I wear them every day even with a suit. Thursday Boots makes some good gear. With western boots though, leave the pants stacked and not cuffed. You can get away with cuffing Laced, Chelsea or Chukka boots, but doesn’t work with western style (square or round toe). Also, stay away from anything too skinny. Straight cut, cowboy cut or fitted is fine, but skinny looking jeans is not the right fit for a man’s western boot.
Ok… so… I think it’s important to not be costumey. I expected you to throw on a cowboy hat at the end. The pants look odd because you’re so big. You kind of have hips like a female so… accentuating that with tight pants makes you look a bit odd. No offense. I think you need a more flattering cut. Slim taper pants look better on slim people. Wearing cowboy boots with slim tapered jeans is bad. Cowboys wear flared or bootcut jeans with the boots to make room for the shaft. You made it worse by cuffing the jeans as well. It was a nice attempt but noooo.
Homophobia and implied transphobic comments aside, you tried with what you had. Down south, this isn’t a trend, as it’s more common for people to dress boots up, or as workwear. But yeah, highly recommended loose fitting jeans that cover the boot. Don’t have to be baggy towards the bottom and you can still show a LITTLE bit of shaft, and there are slimmer styles that fit over boots. For a more city style, try dark wash denim, or wide flair, and dress slacks. In the same way you refer to western style as a “trend”, I don’t understand all the people saying you are wearing girl’s pants. I encourage you to keep trying this style
