Bernadette! One of Levi Stubbs/FourTops greatest vocals!
What a jam!! I have this on my Spotify Playlist.
When the song goes into a dead air pause…and then Levi Stubbs’ plaintiff voice screams out “BERNADETTE!” It gets me every time…and has every time I’ve heard the song since the first time…in 1966.
@@RadioReactiveOne one of the great pause then sing moments ever!
The four tops** it's not called Levi Stubb's w/the four tops. He's not egotistical like that... So show respect to the whole group.
The great Levi Stubbs on lead vocals.
Motown, some of the best music ever performed. It was great growing up when songs like this were popular. Race wasn't a thing, all that mattered was the beat, the lyrics and the talent.
Four Tops, Temptations, Drifters, Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose…there’s just a treasure chest waiting for you with this old school “Motown Sound”. And don’t forget the girl groups, The Ronettes, The Shirelles…the list is endless!
I’d like to see a reaction to Smokey &The Miracles. Oooh Baby Baby.
Excellent motown classic
motown produced sooooo much good music.
On, Lord, open up the book of Motown and dive in, Jayy. Everything you hear will blow your mind. Every. Single. Thing.
You gotta react to these Four Tops tunes:
Bernadette, It's The Same Old Song, Baby I Need Your Lovin', I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch), Standing In The Shadows of Love, Still Waters (Run Deep), Ain't No Woman (Like The One I Got), and I Believe In You and Me.
yes
All of these! But I love “I believe in you and me”
Their most underrated song ,Ask The Lonely
A truly wonderful song, and representative of an era that spanned the 50's, 60's, and 70's. When although we had many problems, differences, and hurtles in our way, the one thing that brought us all together, no matter what color, creed, or religion, was the most beautiful, amazing, and wonderful music!
Love this song. Levi has an amazing voice!
So glad I was born in Detroit/Motown in 1958. I was raised up on the best music the world 🌍 I went HS with 2 daughters of one of the group members. Went to a graduation party at their home in 1976.
Born and raised at the same time/same place. Nothing like Motown music. It still gives me chills. What talent!
Four Tops - Still Waters run deep (long version)
Classic Motown sound ❤️
Try Smokey Robinson & the Miracles "Tears of a Clown" & "Tracks of my Tears"
Now, that is true Soul.
Music that makes America stand above all.
Nothing wrong with Pride. 🇺🇲
I'll be there for more Motown reactions! Other tunes by The Four Tops you ought to check out a.s.a.p. include "Baby I Need Your Loving", "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)", "Bernadette", "Standing in the Shadows of Love", "It's The Same Old Song", and from the 70's "Ain't No Woman (Like The One I've Got)".
Definitely try "Bernadette" next for more Four Tops. Also, Levi Stubbs (the lead vocal) did the voice of the man-eating plant Audrey in the movie _Little Shop of Horrors_ and sang the song "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space" for it!
I believe Jayy already did a reaction to Bernadette. I'd suggest Baby I Need Your Lovin' for the next Four Tops reaction.
Hearing this song at age 5 made me want to learn to play music. The Four Tops always sounds great.
When The Four Tops came on stage, the entire audience was on their feet in 5 seconds.
Welcome to old school.
This is the MOTOWN Sound to the bone!!! The Four Tops are soulful FIRE!!!
They have a great catalog of hits. All these years later I still listen to them. Levi Stubbs, RIP, had such a voice.
One of my absolute favorite songs. Everything goes quiet in my world when this song comes on the radio. Love the Four Tops
Wow.... You're doing the Tops...? I first heard them in 1965 as an 8 yrs old kid...
Motown is just a dream now. Wonderful, aren't they?
Baby I Need Your Loving, Walk Away Renee, I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)... the Four Tops were tops.
Four Tops, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson- best of Motown!!
great song !! great reaction !!!
More Motown please!!!
The incredible Mr. Levi Stubbs!
Out of all the motown groups..no one had the swag and csnon of a voice that reaked masculinity as livi stubbs
And although record labels tempted him to go solo he was loyal to the. Other 3
Four tops and refused a solo carrier..rest on peace mr. Stubbs.❤❤
Music that speaks to you and slips into your spirit!
Levi Stubbs one of the greats!!!!
One of the greatest intros ever Levi Stubbs wot a voice
This is a big song.........................it carries a lotta water.
Motown Baby!
The magic of 1970’s AM Radio. 🌟
Pure 🔥🔥🔥
I love this song. it’s such a good song. But the lyrics, and the way this song is written, just brings emotions to me. Sadness, especially when my ex in the past told me she would always be here for me, and never give up on me. And then what does she do? She betrays me in September last year. Just love the lyrics to this song. They bring positivity. Listening the sound of your voice in this video was very theraputic to me. it calmed me down during my mild panic attack while I was listening to you react to this song while I was struggling to stop myself from swallowing hard. Again I’m over the girl I really am. But the pain she left me with, the sweet memories of her coming to my birthday parties when I was younger since we’ve been best friends for many many years since pre-school of 1996, the memories are there to haunt me. Trying to find ways to get her outa my head. Most times, I’m happy and joyful, but there are days, and nights like tonight where I just put on songs like this, and I just want to curl up in a ball, bury my face into a pillow, and let all the hurt out, the hurt she left me with. She moved on, i moved on, but don’t worry. I will find ways to get rid of these sad memories, the fun times when she’d come over to visit me, especially tomorrow since thursdays are my least favorite days of the week. She’d spend each thursday with me when she was in town staying with her folks. And we’d spend 12 hours together each Thursday. Don’t worry. I’m doing okay. I think it’s this delta variant, the deaths of millions that is sky rocketing to the point where I’m depressed, and I wanna put on songs like this to just let it all out. But seriously, thank you. Hearing your voice really calmed me down from my mild panic attack. Thank you so much, and again, god bless you. 😭
Wonderful message in this song as well as a wonderful reaction!
A monster to this day and virtually the Motown equivalent of opera.
This brings me back to my childhood, I remember my dad bringing his albums home.
Imagine, he was told he would have a career on his own but he would not perform without the 3 guys behind him. Friends for life.
Anything Motown is the timeless musical treasure you can’t ever, never go wrong with....
Four Tops, so good. Nice little rabbit hole to go down!
I used to love the Four Tops.
Love these guys so much, such awesome songs and vocals. Also, had a crush on Levi Stubbs my whole life, RIP
Yesssss
great stuff, thanks for your reaction
Is there anything better than Motown? Such a great catalog of music. Listen to "Bernadette".
Saw these geniuses live in London in the 70s. I never stayed still for an hour and a half
Motown is some of the best music ever made. You should definitely check out more. Might I suggest the Ojays. The original Motown Philly sound. "Backstabbers", ( my jam), "for the love of money", "listen to the clock on the wall", " love train", the list goes on and on. One of my favorite groups
Javy You must watch. Cooley High. Great movie with lots of Motown music . Classic

@@THEJAYYSHOW ok
Now have you reacted to "You Make Me Feel Brand New" by The Stylistics?
You are listening to one of the Greatest R & B/Pop Groups. They are legends because they stayed together longer than any group in Pop Music without going through a Group Change. Sadly Enough Three are dead. Levi Stubbs who suffered a Massive Stroke and couldn't speak let alone sing, Walter Payton, and Renaldo "Obie" Benson. Today Abdul "Duke" Fakir performs as the Tops. This is because the surviving Children felt it wouldn't be fair to have other Guys call themselves The Four Tops. Also alot of 1950's Groups don't have the same members that they started out with. If you can, check out The Temptations & Four Tops a Documentary that was on Showtime hosted by Stevie Wonder. The reason why they stayed toegher for so long was because they were friends since they were children. They actually started out as The Four Aims.
This is what I grew up listening to. A true classic
This song got to number one in the UK charts in 1966.
Hey JAYY, checkout the song Shake Me, Wake Me, by the
Four Tops. The words to this classic deserves a reaction.
Love these guys, grew up listening to this music! Another couple of good ones to react to is "Forever Mine" by the O'Jays and "My Prayer" by Bobby Hatfield!
Yeah. Unfortunately, a generation of focusing on love might never come back around musically.
I’m shedding lots of tears while watching you guys react to what I describe as one of the saddest songs in the world, in music history. This song will always remind me of last year when my ex and I were far apart since we were in a long distance relationhip. She would tell me that she would always be there for me. And I’d listen to this song while we were apart from each other. We were together of course and this was during the first part of the pandemic in early March when everything went into lockdown mode. So as you react to this song, I’ll be crying my eyes out, just missing my ex so badly even though she treated me so bad while we were far apart. When we were together, we’d cuddle, do fun things together, go hiking, and so on. It’s been a year and 8 days since she texted, “it’s over and there’s nothing you can do to change my mind.” just because I didn’t complete her expectations by a certain deadline. She gave me a week to complete some tasks such as filling out an application for an apartment. I didn’t fill it out on time. Then she tells me to give her space. And she pushes me away. september 7, 2020 comes, and it arrives, the text message on my phone with those words I just mentioned. A few weeks pass, and i lose loved ones that were close to me. I’m over my ex, but let me tell you the pain’s still there. Known this girl for 25 years since pre-school. And we’d do fun things together as kids. December 11, 2021 will be here, and it’s gonna be 17 years since my ex came to my old house to spend the day with me three days before my 13th birthday in 2014. I hate my birthday now. It just reminds me of my ex coming over for a cookie party in 2019 before I asked her out, the day after my birthday. Feels like it’s my fault. Without further or do, gonna press the play button to resume this video, and I’ll shedd my tears, and think of my ex, and mourn the loved ones that died last year while you react to this sad song. Please pray for me. Thank you so much for this reaction, even though this song is very emotional to my heart. God bless. 😭
That is Mr motown Levi Stubbs and the great backup singers. Better than the temptations and i loved the temptations.
LEVI WAS A BAD DUDE ON THE VOCALS--CHECK OUT THESE SONGS---ASK THE LONELY--ALL IN THE GAME---STILL WATERS RUN DEEP--AND BERNADETTE
This song always gives me goosebumps. Thanks, Jayy.

You’re reaction was fun. My favorite part is when he says “HA!” and when he just talks in the song. I love these guys. I think it’s the Funk Brothers playing the instruments and they’re pretty amazing.

Back in the day, The Four Tops were a bit unique in that they had a baritone as the lead singer. Couldn’t behave had a better one than Levi Stubbs.
They were together without personnel change for about 50 years.
