I personally use the OBSBOT Meet 4K, which is a relatively direct competitor to Opal. It has a ton of controls, including manual stuff and it generally looks pretty great. It looks like a GoPro that you leave on your desk. I’m a fan. Also, nice to see a video from you, man!
So glad I saw this video. Was about to buy either one but the Opal cameras actually look the worst in all the cams shown for the price being asked. The C1 feels over-exposed in places, too zoomed in and the Tadpole is just a piece of garbage not worth talking about honestly. If I wanted this heavy anime / filter look, I wouldn't shell out so much money for nothing else but marketing hype and a nicely made website The continuity camera from the iPhone understandably looks better with the cleanest background exposure balance and gradation but this has existed on Windows/Android since a very long time now and not sure how it connects with the Mac but on the PC sometimes the connection can be hit and miss. But purely on image quality in this video, it's a clear winner
Some of your samples have sound sync issues. Maybe big differences in latency? I personally find it distracting. The Continuity Camera smells to be the best option in this regard.
I really appreciate this video thanks! It’s helpful to see someone who looks like me on camera thanks!!!

I’ve been meaning to check out the OBSBOT but it did not fit into my already-absurdly-high webcam budget. And it’s good to see you here!
The shots with the C1 drop frames. Was that due to Opal software?
The C1 looks the worst and has some weird frame rate issues.

opal c1 Can it also be used on Windows PCs without downloading the composer software?
Background music is quite distracting? Please lower down the volume in your next vid or for best result remove al together.
i REALLY hate the background music. SOOOO distracting!
The iphone looks the best to me.
