It's very nice. Not bummed about not having full digital instrument cluster. I have a 2018 Accord with the half digital/half analog display, and one night the digital side went blank on a long drive home. Finally got home, turned the car off and back on again, it was still out. It wasn't until the next day I got in, started up and the display was back. So yeah, I prefer the speedometer staying "analog". I will be looking to get one of these after the refresh in a few years.

Another great, fun, detailed review...glad you know how to get silly now and then, Joe! Biggest zonk for me is the No HUD. I have it in my 2020 Touring Accord and, being the King of Lost, having the compass right in front of me has been great. 2nd after that is the no ventilated seats thing, which has been nice, too. I'm assuming these 19" wheels don't have adaptive dampers like in my Touring Accord, or you probably would have mentioned it...nor did you mention that in your new Accord Hybrid Touring review. I wish this had the Google features on the new Accord Touring, and the 12.3" screen. But since I live in a Buffalo burb, having-finally-AWD with a Snow mode would be great. My lease is up later in 2023, and I was going to do the Accord Touring. But with my arthritic knees, getting in and out of the CRV should be more comfortable. It looks great, and I suspect I'm going to go with the Touring CRV, same powertrain and all. Lucky me, West Herr Honda NEVER marks up any of the many brands they sell in Western New York, regardless of supply shortages. No discounts in the foreseeable future, but nothing above MRSP, and no forced dealer add-ons, either! GREAT work by your camera gal, too!

Nice review. Our blue CRV touring is being delivered next week & we're very excited. You mention the 10 speed transmission. The key to the Honda hybrid system lies in the unique transmission. It's not a conventional CVT. At lower speeds (and in reverse) there is no direct mechanical connection between the engine & wheels, just the electric motor driving the wheels. As your speed increases, there is a clutch #1 that engages set #1 spur gears to mechanically connect the engine to the wheels for city speed cruising. Then as you increase speed, clutch #1 disengages and another clutch #2 engages set #2 gears for highway cruising. These two clutch/gears are very efficient & is part of what gives the vehicle such good fuel economy.

I definitely zonk most of the same stuff you do. I've already pre-ordered the Sport Touring model, but I really am disappointed that Honda didn't include options for:
    -Pano roof
    -Heads up Display
    -Ventilated Seats
    -Full digital dash
    -360 camera
I know several of these options are included, plus a 3 row of seating, on the Asian market versions of this CR-V, which is quite disappointing as the main competitors offer some or all of these, but at the end of the day, none of them FEEL like a Honda, and that's what ultimately won me over in choosing the CR-V.
Loving the new Bose system for sure, I'm just hoping Honda hears people and adds some of these other missing features in the next year or two.

Yes, fog lights are needed. They are a necessity in my book. The grill looks much more aggressive but the aluminum intakes look like exhausts. They remind me of the old Chevy SUVs that had front intakes like those. I definitely zonk the halogen turn signal. I don’t understand why a manufacture doesn’t insert LED bulbs everywhere. They are not that much more expensive.

I have a 2020 Accord Touring edition w/fog lights. They are superfluous w/full LED headlights. Even in my driveway, when I turn them on they don't give you more width or illumination. Low beam LEDs are more than adequate in fog. (note: the fog lights used to make some difference in the previous generation Accords, true enough. But no more.)

Hi Raiti, GREAT review as always. Re: 'Whether the sunroof should be "Panoramic", I am frankly, glad it's not. Here's why:
    > If you leave the pano--roof closed, but the sunshade open, a pano-roof will bake the car like an oven.
    > With pano-roofs, even if I just want to open the roof a little, I still have to open the sunshade all the way in the bright sun.
    > With smaller sunroofs, like this, one can usually open the roof half-way, then pull the sunshade half-closed. NICE 😎
    > Pano-roofs are more likely to shatter on very hot days. (Can you say 'Hottest day on record for August"?)
    > Pano-roofs have more problems and are more expensive to fix. Hyundai had to service mine 5X, before finally
replacing it at no charge, OUTSIDE of the warranty. (It pays to service at the dealer and keep ALL the receipts)
    > Pano-roofs mean bigger holes cut into the roof of the vehicle, which compromises structural integrity.
(This is one reason why hi-end luxury vehicles usually don't have fold-down rear seats, only a pass-through)
    > Less structural integrity could possibly mean something in a crash or roll-over
    > Less structural integrity can also mean more "Buzz, Squeak and Rattle" ("B-S-R") issues over the long-term.
    > Larger pano-roofs also give thieves one more easy, large, point of access into your car.
    > Finally: . . . Passengers aside, Can YOU really see any more of that blue-sky behind you, from the driver's seat?
Without twisting your neck? I think not!
    .
I hope that's food for thought. "Gort, Barenga" Happy motoring
    .

The only thing I wanna know, is after the last generation went on for so many years with its vertical rear LED turn signal… why did they think it was a good idea to make this one halogen? LED’s look more premium, They’re easier to see, They last longer. They elevate peoples perception of the vehicle. With such a little detail. And yes for 38k it should have a 360° camera And ventilated seats like you mentioned.

I'm a long-time CRV driver and currently driving a 2018 Lava orange crv that is paid off. I have been debating trading for a new suv. I love the new body style with a much sportier look of this new version! Some misses include, no fog lights, no heads up display, no 360 degree camera view, no panoramic moon roof, no fully digital display. Right now, I would purchase the Hyundai Tuscon hybrid over this one with a 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty and all the electronic upgrades. Will likely wait as interest rates have sky-rocketed and see what improvements the 2024 CRV has. Thanks for your thorough review!

    1. I agree regarding the fog lights. That should be standard on ALL vehicles and should come as a safety feature, making night driving safer for all.
    2. I test drove the 2021 CR-V Touring and the tiny wireless charging pad was TOO SMALL for my Samsung Note 20+ phone! The edges of my phone hung over and would not make contact with the wireless charging pad!

this vehicle doesn’t have a transmission. Honda advertises it as a CVT cuz it’s easier for consumers to understand, but in fact there is no transmission at all. the wheels are driven by the electric motors which does have really great performance and feels almost just like a torque converter transmission power output which automatically makes the reliability of this vehicle amazing. no transmission means less moving perfectly break. one less thing that needs to be serviced, too.
