I really like how in your videos we see You, the actual game, AND gameplay footage. Some channels leave some of those out. They show the game, but no gameplay footage. Or vise versa. I like how you include you, the game, and gameplay footage. Makes for really good content

North & South is based on a Belgian Comic book series, that started in 1968 and has 68 books to this day. It is originally called: Les Tuniques Bleues. It concerns soldiers in the Northern army.

I'm a huge fan of Franco-Belgian comics. I grew up reading Asterix and Obelix, Lucky Luke, Tin-Tin, Iznogud etc. One of my absolute favorite is Le Vieux Nick et Barbe-Noire that sadly was never translated to English.

eBay actually has a return policy that heavily favors the buyer. Even if it states that the buyer doesn't accept returns, you can still return items if they are not as described. I went through the recent sold items on eBay and couldn't find that specific listing. If there's justifiable reasoning for a return, then there's no bargaining or disputing with the seller. Just open a claim as not as described and eBay forces the buyer to accept due to "false advertisement." Very hassle-free.

I think you will enjoy A Short Hike whenever your RNG process selects it for you. Beyond the exploration itself, it has just enough game mechanics to make the experience engaging. And the aesthetics are just the icing on the cake, so well done. IIRC, there are some scattered side missions as optional content, if you feel like inhabiting that world a bit longer.
Watch pickup videos like these, I chuckle to think how I might do them. Most of my purchases these days are digital. Really out of convenience more than anything else. I think the physical advocates have valid arguments, but I’m too tired to do the hunt anymore, unless I happen to spot a great deal on physical.
I think, years ago, I saw a video where someone was showing off their digital collection on whatever console. I actually was moderately interested. But I think I’m an oddball in that regard! If I had to talk through digital pickups, I’d probably just focus on game footage. And maybe a few face shots, if I feel attractive enough that day! Haha

I get the appeal of digital games for the convenience and space saving... but I don't think I've ever seen a digital game collection video before. I'm not sure how to do it either 😅
What I would typically do in that situation is purchase a few very cheap PC games with same size boxes and use the inside boxes from those games and put them in the Warcraft boxes.
Definitely leave feedback on that Ebay seller tho!

Great video! A lot of somewhat more obscure stuff in these pickups. I'm not sure that there is anything here that is a priority for me, but there are definitely a few that are tempting. It wouldn't be the first time that I went and ordered something after seeing it on one of your pickups videos! 😂
The one game here that I have played already is Touhou Luna Knights. I played this a few years ago, when I had a free month's trial of XBox Game Pass when I bought my Xbox One X. With a few exceptions, like you, I try to collect and play most of my games physically, but I thought I would give the free trial a shot for a month. So I tried to play a few shorter titles that either weren't available physically or I didn't know if I would want to spend the money to buy physically. This was one that I played, and it was actually really fun. I can't remember for sure, but this might have been the game where I didn't beat the final boss because it was too difficult and I didn't want to invest the extra time into it during my limited time free trial. Or that could be a different game I am thinking of.

Rendering Ranger R2 was the last super Famicom game released. Which is likely the main reason for the low print run and the obscurity. Was stoked to see this get rereleased I picked it up as well. I’m sure you are aware but I highly recommend picking your king of demons as well. Another expensive super Famicom game retro but is selling right now

Great video. Plumbers don't wear ties brings back some memories. I owned a 3DO back when it was new... 1993 I think. I picked up Plumbers for 39.99 and played for a few minutes and said "what the heck did I just buy"? lol. 3DO had a few winners though.. Sure, it had some junk, but some diamonds in the rough. I still play Road Rash, Return Fire, Cannon Fodder and several others.

I bounced around a few consoles as a kid. I had an Atari 2600 Jr, a Gameboy, a PS1, PS2 and then an Xbox 360 before moving over onto PC, but I've always kept an eye on console games to see if anything might encourage me to go back to console gaming. Microsoft releasing all their first party titles on PC and all the big Playstation hits starting to come to PC makes that unlikely for the foreseeable future.
I did notice that Boltgun and Luna Nights are on PC in the west (I'm in the UK), so will hopefully get a western console release at some point
I like PC gaming, too. But I always prefer physical releases. Sadly, those are stuck on consoles at the moment 😅
Awesome pickups. I used to play Warcraft 2 for hundreds of hours.
My suggestion for making the Warcraft 2 boxes stiff, is to either buy some foam which you shape to fit the boxes or get some gallon ziploc bags, which you fill with packing peanuts,. You may want to put in like 3 bags per box (since you get the ziploc bags that have the same dimensions as the boxes) you won't then have to worry about holes in the boxes.

Wait i had no clue that atomic heart was obscure? I cant remeber if i paid full price for it or not. But living in basically the middle of nowhere in deep east Texas means the games hardly ever sell out here.

Luna Nights was good. I bought it on Switch digitally a few years back. Challenging for me since I’m not a bullet hell guy. You might want to check out Record of Lodoss War : Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth too. Very very similar.

I'd go on the chat box of ebay and explain to them how the purchase didn't match the the description in the listing. You might get your money back and keep the boxes and use the money to get repro inserts.

Love the concept behind your passion for gaming and how you structure your channel around that. I'm trying to grow into the jrpg community right now, and I just put out a video on Kingdom Hearts that honestly made me cry while watching it. Even though you don't talk much about rpgs , I still use you as a bit of inspiration amongst some other non rpg youtubers like Metal jesus, Happyconsolegamer, and Mr. Wrightway, just to name a few.

And about the inserts look at like a store supply company and you could probably even find nice fancy foam (like the xbox series x came was secured in box with) insets to hold them. That or maybe even etsy
Yeah. I could definitely cut some foam to fit in there. But I was looking for something even easier 😄 I checked out Etsy, but it's mostly laser cut wood stuff that's way too fancy

I've been waiting on an order since Sept from another one of those limited print run publishers aye, starting to lose hope I'll ever see it. Been through the same in the past with LRG and others but haven't been truly burned just yet. Sucks about that UPC issue and missing innards on that big box PC game, good sellers should always disclose defects in box/packaging and/or internal paper or cardboard being missing but most seem to be lazy with their details on Ebay - curious how many people are looking for big box PC complete anymore though I'd imagine not so many. Damn you're almost at 10K subs already!!! 🙌

Oh hey, I literally just played those two games a little under a month ago.
Overall, I definitely can see where there'd be complaints. They aren't exactly the most polished games but they certainly go hard on the Eldritch themes, especially when you get to the 2nd entry, "Ursurper". If nothing else, I definitely liked them and am kind of bummed I likely won't be getting to the 3rd and 4th entries ("Into the Fray" and "Moonless Knight") anytime soon. I'm really interested to see where the narrative goes cause they all are direct continuations of each other.
Funnily, here's a little story. One of the biggest surface level complaints I've seen about the series is that it is ripping off "Castlevania" due to the cover art. I guess I can see it but I genuinely don't care and think it's nonsense. There was an article over on Gematsu about the physical console release for "Usurper" and in the comments, the artist actually commented there. It was their first ever project and they were excited to see it get featured. And yes, they are a big fan of Ayami Kojima, who is one of the main artists/designers for "Castlevania".
Rock Cr I think their user tag was if you want to check them out on twitter or something. Lots of very interesting gothic designs, as to be expected.

Agreed. It seems like a love letter to my childhood. All the great things I remember but honestly with a bit more skill and variety and less cheap mess was purely designed to take your quarters.
I’m still not a fan of the final boss design though.
Survival mode in the expansion adds a lot of replay value as well.
TMNT Cowabunga Collection is a great pickup if you’re still feeling nostalgic. So many great old games from so many consoles.

Short games are fine as long as they don't cost more than 20 bucks. Anything more than that, and I expect more than 2-3 hours.
I used to feel that way until I played some super short games that were more impactful than dome 30 hour long games I've played.

Limited Run Games has been accused of shady things before but shat happened with your Switch cartridge is a classic example of that…they used preorders of the Switch to pay for the run of other versions of it with the Switch coming later on
it’s done in the As-Seen-On-TV world a lot, they appropriated that model
I mean... they are owned by embracer... which is a multi-billion company.
But, they definitely have some logistical issues going on

I just stuff news paper in mine cheap and easy plus it gets in every nook and cranny to support the box without ruining it and another plus is it helps with moisture and dampness.

I just like the Turtles revenge game. I should download the DLC for it. Only played the main story game. There is a lot couch coop game & only that. They should make more couch coop online & not vs. I think this, if you release a game that isn't single, you should have both couch coop & online coop.

How do you randomly pick a game to play? Do you have you backlog entered somewhere that randomly picks some for you?
I have a big spreadsheet with all of the games. There's a complex system that I use, but it's a lot of fun.
There have been a few times that I picked a game live on the Sunday streams.
I put all the games on a digital wheel and spin it
Also, I've started recording myself having the games picked for me to play, and they will be inserted into the videos in the future.
Aw man, I have Mystic Midway: Phantom Express and Rest in Pieces, and I'm sorry to report that they both suuuuuck... even with the light gun, lol! And yeah, I hate how CD-I games come in like 53 different kinds of cases😂

I am an older Millennial for sure. I don't consider Axis and Allies controversial at all.
But if I was a German...playing Axis and Allies... and I chose to play as the Nazis.... ehhhh that might be controversial.
If you just play as the Union in North and South, that's no big deal. If you play as the Confederacy and try to win... that would make me feel a little creepy

The main character you play as in Atomic Heart is really cheesy. I got my copy at Gamestop super cheap with one of their sales.
There wasn't a copy of it within 100 miles of my house... I was shocked 😃

I'm sorry to hear that. Sadly, I don't have anything to do with the amount of ads put in the videos. RUclips just inserts them where they want. Even if I only had 5 subscribers, you'd see the same amount of ads.
However, I believe youtube limits the amount of ad breaks per video to 4
What’s so offensive about north and south? Don’t you guys teach that in history over in the US? Or do you prefer not to talk about it?
Sadly, it's still a very touchy subject here. I don't have time to teach a history lesson, but it boils down to the north hating the south because of slavery... and the south being angry at the north for reconstruction.
Edit* I should say reconstruction... and not Reconstruction (the process of readmitting the south to the Union).
I'm talking about rebuilding the infrastructure that was destroyed during the war

@jasp2003 no one wants to go back to slavery. But there are still people in the south that are angry about the union burning down all the civilian buildings during the war. A lot of cities didn't have any schools or hospitals for decades after the war. It's considered by some to be one of the main contributors of the south falling so far behind in education.
