My cat is my best friend, I love her more than anything. She was a stray when I found her and she came to me at a very difficult time in my life. She is only 4 years old but I have always pictured her being with me as an old lady cat. This week while on vacation heading to see my family, she was able to escape from my car and she ran into the forest. I have spent the last week hiking all over, calling her name and putting up posters everywhere. This video registers a lot with me as I could not stop thinking how fast it all happened and how I had thought it was a perfectly normal and good day just 2 minutes before. I hope more than anything someone calls me to say she has been found :( Thank you for your thoughtful insights into loss.
I love this so so much! I remember finding your videos when my mother died four years ago. And your videos really helped me. I think it's your strength. My mother died, my father died, my sister died and my brother died. I am the only one left lol It's absurd. Life is absurd. But I keep going. Thank you for this video. x
Laura, I just want you to know that throughout covid, i was working at retail store and i remember in early 2020 when every thing was crazy and most of the population was scared. before everything became really political. Things in my life were crazy. All the customers were in bad moods; store policies were constantly changing; life was chaotic. But i still remember watching your videos about going to London and living there for awhile and i found those videos to be the only good and hopeful thing i saw that week. I always find your content inspiring. Please don't think that by making videos on youtube, you are contributing to a social problem, you are not. Its the opposite. your videos make people want to go out and see the world. visit places they've never been and eat things they may not have otherwise. You said before it was your goal to be a youtuber and you were definitely meant to be one. Thank you for your content and i hope you make more videos.
Hundreds of thousands of people die every day on the earth. Some of these deceased people have relatives, friends or lovers that they can't let go of. They continue to remember the beautiful memories they experienced with the deceased for the rest of their lives. In contrast, some of them can only die alone and For those who have no one to mourn, I think this is enough to be a kind of happiness, and you are one of the blessings that allow them to pass away peacefully with this happiness.
Hi Laura, in two months I will be 69 and the probability that I will go before you is maybe forty times greater. Since I already have twelve direct descendants (children and grandchildren) , a tiny little part of me will live on in them, which is comforting. I also try to celebrate every day, because it could actually be the last one. It's o.K. For your peace of mind, I can say that you too have the chance to live to be hundred. But is that desirable when all the loved ones have already left ? Finally, I wish you to find a person with whom you can share your fears and also love. That makes everything easier. Sorry to hear your story. But as a relatively mentally healthy person, death never motivates me to do anything. I do things and make time for friends and family is because I love taking care of myself. And I know to lead a better life I need to take care of people surrounding me as well. I also have a 16 year old cat and I know he's getting old and all but, I rarely think about how someday his life is gonna run out. And it doesn't mean I am trying to ignore the fact that he's an old cat and will be dead at some point. I heard you said you are a vegetarian? Does it mean you don't eat meat at all? I get it, you love the animals, so do I. But eating meat could have a positive impact on our mental health is all I'm saying. At least it did for me.
