Should set up some trail cameras and see what native/invasive species of mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians are on the property! Definitely goin to need a skid steer or tractor with a front load bucket to knock down/clean up the old house, dead & already fallen trees, make some trails etc! Congratulations again can't wait to see it all done with the proper perimeter fence, professional enclosures, trails, maybe a camping area set up with outdoor cooking, fire pit etc! Endless possibilities
I live in an area where coyotes, mountain lions and bears are prevalent. Seeing those two pooches prancing around the wilderness gives me so much anxiety.
Many years ago folks were losing hunting dogs going over a bridge. Eventually someone discovered a very big and quite fat gator…unfortunately it was deemed dangerous…probably correctly..and killed. When opened up he was full of collar parts. I guess he was far too big to relocate and feel bad for the dogs, but he was just being a gator. Shows his smart they are and observant.
Omg, please be careful with your adorable Chihuahua. Predators in the sky and on the ground. It's only going to be a matter of time before these edible animals disappear. Please, small dogs have a lot more animals to worry about. Just my opinion.
OMG, especially after they said there had to be rattlesnakes around. In the middle of the day, bears and mountain lions and coyotes are not generally a problem (I have the same animals in my area.) But rattlesnakes....
My suspicion is that the house was built close to the barn for a reason. My rationale is that with unpainted plywood exterior walls, it was built on a budget. I think the builder tore down the barn piece by piece, and used what was salvageable in the construction of the house. I don’t think the house dates back any farther than the late 1960s or early ‘70s. The insulation doesn’t look any older than that, and the plywood exterior is still mostly intact with little evidence of rotting or water damage. But you may have seen evidence indicating an earlier construction date that I was unable to see in the video. In Florida, ceilings are insulated to keep out solar heat, walls are insulated to retain heat in the winter. The exterior walls are well insulated. I understood why you don’t want to disclose your location, but I think those walls suggest that winters there can get pretty chilly at times.
Gorgeous land, the way those trees seem to soar over everything makes it seem like you're in a fantasy world. Wonder if maybe a big storm hit, caused damage to the house, and it was just too isolated to be worth fixing up? However it came to be that way, gonna be a project and a half getting it cleared away! Congrats you two, looking forward to what the future brings you!
hurricane ian really caused us a lot of damage last year here in central florida. it's not like the coast, but still can get lots of damage being inland.
I'm so very happy for you guys and all your pets and rescues. What a lovely adventure with so much more to discover! Congratulations! And Bambi quit eating poop! Lol
Only in FL does someone walk around in sandals while looking for rattlesnakes love u guys. I would love to watch some stuff with ur wife’s perspective on all ur antics. Casper has been on my bucket list #1 but now i dont know u all are so far north 😩
Great thing about rattlesnakes; they don't want to bite you and waste their venom, or be stepped on, so they have this nifty thing they do called, you know, rattling. They're really not hard to avoid, most bites are to curious dogs or kids who don't know any better, idiots who harass them without proper training, and people moving logs or scrap that might flip or reach under something and surprise one.
I would be so worried too especially because they aren't big dogs, even the bigger one. I think they need a few big dogs to protect the little ones. lol
Bando house real neat!! 🎈🎈Congrats on the new property! u 2 deserve it how hard y'all work w/ the love, knowledge, & compassion of animals u guys have is impressive!
Plenty of room to do whatever you want to. I keep saying this but I'm just beyond happy for you two! Are you anywhere close to where the wild monkey population is at? It won't surprise me whatever kind of wildlife you find there. You have worked hard for this place. I can't wait to see what you do with it!
So cool to see you get this property. I see your videos every so often and just enjoy seeing people who are trying to do good things succeed. Keep it up and congrats.
This warms my heart. I just got back on twitter and felt this horrible feeling. Then I switched here and now I know why I need to delete the app again. So happy for you two!
That Radio/CD player on the floor is a 2008 model and the level of deterioration in the house looks like it's been abandoned almost as long. I'm just speculating though.
Thanks so much for your last two tours....really enjoyed seeing your property. But, this abandoned house thing!!?? I don't know where to start!! Well first....beautiful nails Gabby! Even with the paint!!
MIGHT SAVE SOME OF THE lumber, Denail and Reuse ♻️ Copper in wiring and Aluminum and Glass from windows The rest is toast. Lots of Potential there. Congratulations 🎉
Wow great property, looks like they did use newer wood to try restore that house at some point, so you can probably salvage allot of the wood 🪵😀 and maybe the metal roof sheeting too. Great for extra project builds. Don't know if you can get a digger through there but if you can, you could always bury all the waste materials.
Huh. That looks more run-down than the typical ruined house in a Fallout game. Yikes. My first thought was, "An abandoned house? Maybe you can repurpose it as a supply shed or something." But in that condition, I'm not even sure you have the option. Something to look into, in any case.
Congratulations on buying your dream home. I may have to check out your sanctuary after you get set up. I would miss not seeing Casper. Will see who you find to replace him. ?? I like to kayak with my 8 lb Porky ( Pomeranian Yorky) Only time I worry is when she gets on the top front bow. I figure I keep moving so I’m ok. You do say that they do track food. Should I be worried?
Regarding the house & barn, I'd LOVE unraveling that one!! Wait....Chris....grab that cool blue boom box on the floor...matches the Bud can perfectly! 😂😂😂 Then there's the melted ceiling fan & pink insulation that looks too newish for a rotted house. Like Gabby said....what happened? I see outlers & wiring, but doesn't look like fire. No hurricanes...hummm??? Please let us know what you learn! My best guess was a leaky roof left to rot. Or maybe a cheap home was started & never finished??? Didn't see any appliances. Either way, y'all watch your toes cause safety sandals might not cut it in your "jungle." 😊
You should build a tree house, But I was thinking that amount of space man you would have a killer spot to place an aviary . Keep some honey bees to keep the area pollinated and make some honey. Name it Gator Honey! Slap a sticker on it and sell it as 100% natural honey made by Florida honey bees who live next to alligators. Yes they team up and because of that we are happy to bring to your home table a bottle of Americas most dangerous brand yet! I’m sure if people believe Casper loves you, they’d buy into him crashing into honey hives like Pooh bear.
That old creepy house is my future house. Why didn't the old man do some cleaning? It' amazing how ur dogs listens to u and don't run off. Kisses to Bambi and Clover.
So I just googled it for some who may not know, 40 acres is about equivalent to 30 american football fields. I guess one way to visualize it. So I could totally understand not exploring all of it after a few months of moving and renovation .
If you ever make a treehouse pleas e please please do building videos those are so fun to watch, even though y’all are an animal channel I think it would be cool
And just as soon as I posted my comment, I see that yes , you are indeed wearing your safety sandals! Glad to know your tetanus vaccination is up to date!😂😂😂
Trash it and throw it away, get rid of some of the small stuff so you can walk there and give the rest of the nature space to breath. Idk if the mirrors worth saving?
I still think a hurricane came by and did the main damage to the house. Hurricanes can still do a lot of inland damage. Checkout the war zone of Wauchula, Florida when hurricane Francis and Jean came through. I lived in the Lakeland area at that time. 🌪️🌪️⛈️⛈️🌪️🌪️
So much metal to scrap and help pay for a can of paint lol but for reals that going to be a fun cleanup project for y’all. Imagine all the life you’ll find buried underneath.
"I wanna build a tree house" - "you totally should." That is the kind of support you need in life, people
Should set up some trail cameras and see what native/invasive species of mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians are on the property! In Florida it's black bears. Not so bad like grizzlies. More skittish. Much smaller and very few in Florida ..Florida is alligators and snakes.
Many years ago folks were losing hunting dogs going over a bridge. Eventually someone discovered a very big and quite fat gator…unfortunately it was deemed dangerous…probably correctly..and killed. At least you have your safety sandals on. LOL. Be careful! I am so happy for you both. It's such an exciting new Adventure for you!
Its really cool to see how big your property is. It just keeps going

Looks like water damage to me 😢 Mold, roof caving in... Makes me sad for whoever lost their home.
You can always convert into a storage area. The support structure looks good. Almost looks like a flood issue
Only in FL does someone walk around in sandals while looking for rattlesnakes love u guys. I would love to watch some stuff with ur wife’s perspective on all ur antics. Casper has been on my bucket list #1 but now i dont know u all are so far north 😩

You mean like at 9:49?
Property looks amazing with so much potential. I get nervous watching the dogs roam around freely please keep them close.
Yikes - that abandoned house in woods! Queue the theme from that old movie "Deliverance".
Hopefully no asbestos in that house, maybe get that looked at before demolishing it to be sure you demolish it correctly
You ought to set some trail cams up to see what lives around there.
The house doesn't even have "good bones." And with all the water damage, I suspect there's black mold something fierce. Knock it down.
So cool! We found a garbage dump from pre 1900 on the property I grew up on... so many neat things.
So cool to see you get this property. I see your videos every so often and just enjoy seeing people who are trying to do good things succeed. Keep it up and congrats.

Your new property is amazing. Those trees!!
Wow! Neat video! Just subscribed to your channel! Thanks for sharing! 🤘😎
Exploring in the woods in sandals..... my kind of people!
Good video, Very Adventurous 😍😱🐍 tge house was spooky af
This may be a weird suggestion, but maybe you could team up with Florida Trailblazer to help explore the property? It would be a fun crossover :)
Congrats! 40 acres. That’s really cool!
Maybe bring in a small atv with small trailer and get the stuff out that way… if you build a treehouse chris will never come down 😂
Okay, you got me at the end with "this dog likes to eat poop..🤣🤣
Nice bit of property you got there..😉👍
Love the trees. I wonder what the history is on thar house
your property is really pretty, you could set up a nice little grotto in the trees with sparkle lights and a pergola
Studs still look good in that abandoned house, could be repurposed. Would be a ton of work to demo it.
Larger dog's reactions are good. He doesn't detect former residents.
How much to rent me the new abandoned house??? it's a fixer-upper but I'm interested
What is the breed of that beautiful brindle pup. What a good lookin dog
Looks like a brindle pit, malawa
So with the abandoned house at least you have power & water all the way out from your house!!
Huh. That looks more run-down than the typical ruined house in a Fallout game. Yikes. My first thought was, "An abandoned house? Maybe you can repurpose it as a supply shed or something." But in that condition, I'm not even sure you have the option. Something to look into, in any case.
Congrats on the new property... hopefully you'll find gold or oil some day!
Look at those magnificent trees around the abandoned house on your property!
Congratulations on buying your dream home. I may have to check out your sanctuary after you get set up. I would miss not seeing Casper. Will see who you find to replace him. ?? This would be an appropriate place to wear a mask.
im always worried about a big bird swooping down for my Chihuahua

So truly excited for y'all and this next chapter
You should build a tree house,

Such a dream come true for you guys , so much to explore and make use of
It looks like the studs are still good in that old house, I bet you could repurpose it for caging or something. Lot of work to dismantle though.
That old creepy house is my future house. Why didn't the old man do some cleaning? It' amazing how ur dogs listens to u and don't run off. Kisses to Bambi and Clover.
You said tree house right after you were wondering how to clean up. Reclaimed wood treehouse?
Yes! 🙌🏽
Bambi is just darling! 💕
its gotta be modern drywall romex wiring insulation knock it down! rent a dozer and have fun make the new property your own!
Awesome find
totally ready for an air b&b rental!
It’s a shame it can’t be saved , would of been useful , I love this kind of stuff too xx
Ooo you could take a drone over your property
So I just googled it for some who may not know, 40 acres is about equivalent to 30 american football fields.
I guess one way to visualize it.
So I could totally understand not exploring all of it after a few months of moving and renovation .
Ohhh I am so excited for you guys and for us! New property most likely means more videos! OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!
At the very least, its good habitat for mice that will keep the owls fed! :)
Bambis so frickin cute ❤
great content. keep it up guys
Bambi is so cute!!
Seriously though, if you see rocks or pebbles on the roof. You have sasquatch in your area.
That old house looks like a place you could keep ostriches in, once landscape
Y’all should get a drone and get a Birds Eye view of the whole property
If you ever make a treehouse pleas e please please do building videos those are so fun to watch, even though y’all are an animal channel I think it would be cool
Did you see anything in your survey about the house? It would have to be listed. Then you can learn more about it
Thanks!
Thank you!
Looks like you MIGHT have supplies to build some enclosures???
Gabby, are you wearing safety sandals, too? 🤣🤣🤣
And just as soon as I posted my comment, I see that yes , you are indeed wearing your safety sandals! Glad to know your tetanus vaccination is up to date!😂😂😂
Could you modify part of the old house for some bats? 🦇
oooo i like exploring abandoned places o.o
Trash it and throw it away, get rid of some of the small stuff so you can walk there and give the rest of the nature space to breath. Idk if the mirrors worth saving?
With the right equipment I could have that out of there for you in a day.

I bet if you did some flipping of the house debris you would find the local hideaway’s that would use that cover. Kind of curious what they would be.
Go figure you did start flipping right after I had the thought part way through the video. Cool property.
So much metal to scrap and help pay for a can of paint lol but for reals that going to be a fun cleanup project for y’all. Imagine all the life you’ll find buried underneath.
It kind of looks like maybe a storm or tornado went through and demolished that house
What part of Florida are you guys in now?
This is so exciting and well deserved!
🖤👏
Best renovation starts with a bulldozer
You two need boots for exploring! Lol
When Chris annoys you gabby you know where to send him 😂x😊 plus perfect place to herp
The house doesn't look to old. Could it have been hit by a hurricane at some point?
You should definitely make a tree house
Well there's your guest house!😂
One of Dexter Morgan's haunts 😉😜
The adventures begin!!
❤
This video is giving me bigtime “Blair Witch Project” vibes.
How did u guys find this place
How will your cat learn her way around the new house?
Need an ATV!!
You should be walking through there with a metal detector, and Gabi holding your beer
Bonfire time
