If you love the fires of jealousy so much, then burn. Burn for all eternity. Jealousy is something that makes you suffer, and is not something to be proud of.
This plays at the Court of Illusions, the 5th game between the Game Master Lambadelta and Bernkastel. Unlike in previous games, Lambda and Bern weren't enemies but allies conspiring to destroy Ushiromiya Natsuhi. Why? For luls and fun. That game wasn't a part of the Umineko chronicle(like the 6th was), that game in Ronove's words "lacked love". I have to say the 5th game was the best game if you looked at Umineko as a chess board instead of a mystery. Because they indeed moved pieces all over the board.
Lambda didn't really care less if Battler reached the truth of the game or not, she openly conspired with Bernkastel for the entire purpose of destroying Natsuhi. Even Bernkastel thought as much. "The results of the trial had been fulfilled, and we were able to claim victory right?"-Bernkastel when Battler acquired the Gold Truth. So at least Bern thought they were best pals, and that's how they were portrayed. Maybe on the outside it looked like that, but on the inside Lambda was secretly rooting for Battler.
Superhero18 didn't lambda say at the beginning of the game "even though i'm the game master, i'll still leave tons of hints for you, like beato did"? the game "lacked love" because it made battler an accomplice, a twist beato never would have tried, but that change in the rules (which resulted in battler seeing shannon and kanon in the same room together) was itself a big hint that led directly to what had been common in beato's games. considering how easily lambda accepted battler's appeal, i'd think it was obvious that she'd expected something like that from the beginning.
True, true. I had never really seen it that way before. I just thought of Lambda and Bernkastel as Culprit X, which Erika referred to when she solved the 5th Game. I guess Lambda was more of a double agent then. Oddly enough, it was Bern not Lambda who was in her own way trying to wake up Battler by showing that Natsuhi was only talking to a delusion of Kinzo's and that Kinzo was obviously dead. But Battler didn't like Bern's use of the Red Truth to deny things that didn't matter to the Game Board.
Superhero18 good catch. i think it's something like bernkastel was overtly trying to help battler deny the witch, and lambdadelta was subtly trying to help battler really accept the witch so she could finally die.
Note about the title's meaning: while the word for the bird species is "秧鶏"/"水鶏", here it's instead spelled as "喰那" - first kanji means "devour" and second is phonetic.
Lia W No. Actually Battler deserves to rot in hell for all eternity; not only for being extremely annoying and incompetent, but also for becoming one of the catalysts for the Rokkenjima Incident. He's the one responsible for dragging along the endless game that would torment Beato for so long, that she gave up all hope. All Sayo ever wanted was for Battler; the one person she loved most to understand her; but he couldn't. Once he finally understood the truth and solved Sayo's riddle, it was too late. That's why he wasn't there on the EP7 gameboard. That's why he is a worthless, incompetent loser who forgot to understand the heart of the culprit and their motive ( something which he ironically, told Sayo during their childhood). He didn't want to accept the existence of the witch, but didn't want to suspect any of the family members or servants either. That's completely stupid. The two choices were placed on a scale; either you believe that all the people are innocent; hence accepting the witch's illusion as truth or you completely deny the existence of the witch and suspect the remaining family members and servants.
Woah! XD I am sorry for what I wrote about Beato. It's been a while that I wrote the comment and I think differently about her now. But still, the poor guy XD You really seem to hate him. Even if I agreed with Bern's story, I couldn't blame him the way you do. He would have been 12 (!) years when he said that and it's not like he confessed to her or something. And even then, this is like committing murder and then saying: You made me do it, because you didn't love me. It's also not just Beato who participates in the games and "doesn't have fun". The way the story is told Beato could have stopped the games but didn't out of selfish reasons. He didn't understand her - because she is really hard to be understood. I believe the main point of this "understanding" they talk about is being able to forgive someone if you "feel the same" and understand the reasons. But if those reasons aren't worth committing murder, you simply cant be understood. But what would be almost even worse is that she, in my eyes, would betray George. Imo, this Sayo is really selfish. But anyways, my understanding of the story is a bit different. The way I see it, all the characters, including Beato and Battler are dolls and have their "strings pulled" in certain scenes. And this "thing" (which is even "shown" in the manga) is completely distorting the story, making them say stuff they don't want to. So I can't blame neither Beato nor Battler for the things that are said to be their sins.
Just gave it a listen right now, that theme song borrows heavily from Bach's toccata and fugue in D minor but as far as I can tell it has nothing in common with Kuina besides the use of a church organ.
thats true animes and shows like that we are meant for us to make an emotinal link with the story and characters regardless of what it may be if we feel nothing its a piece of shit if we love then its awesome if we hate or are scared then its STILL awesome haha
It's from a visual novel, Umineko no naku koro ni. It has an anime, but it's utter trash, so the best way to experience Umineko really is by reading the vn.
It is a mystery visual novel, and the anime covered the first half of it. Unfortunately, the anime was made before the visual novel was finished. The people that made the anime made alterations to shorten the story WITHOUT KNOWING what the actual answer to the mystery was. As a result they completely fucked up many of the clues and foreshadowing
Im leving this Comment here in hope that someone can help me. Im searching a YT Video of the Game Elsword where this Music was used aswell as a NieR OST. If someone can help i would appreciate it alot!

So true XD
A logic error is serious! You can't just say "Oops, I'm sorry. I'll do better next time."!
"I have no intention of apologizing"

Superhero18 lambda's goal wasn't to destroy natsuhi, it was to help battler wake up for the sake of her miko who could no longer run the game
Lambda didn't really care less if Battler reached the truth of the game or not, she openly conspired with Bernkastel for the entire purpose of destroying Natsuhi. Even Bernkastel thought as much.
