Listening to this playlist is what compelled me to finally sit down for 200 hours + and read Umineko. I reached resurrectedreplayer on this list and was like “alright, time to get to it!”
Bernkastel to Beatrice, "I would be completely powerless against the witch who holds terrifying power to kill someone endlessly." (Beatrice is the eternal witch) Beatrice to Bernkastel, "This powerless witch dislodged Lady Lambdadelta, the cruel and terrifying Great Witch capable of killing an individual without fail." (Lambdadelta is the witch of certainty) Bernkastel to Beatrice, "I merely won a contest of endurance, she merely grew bored of it." So Bernkastel being the witch of miracles wins against the witch of certainty in a contest of "endurance." These lines are actually taken from episode 5 of Umineko upon Bernkastel's first appearance. In Higurashi Gou it is Satoko who proclaims to Featherine (Eua) "This is basically a contest of endurance, right?" And it is Featherine who proclaims as well that Rika calls the memory resonance/bleedover between worlds that occur her 'miracles.' I honestly didn't want to admit it but it very much sounds like the contest Bernkastel won between herself and Lambdadelta. One representing Miracles, the other certainty (Satoko is certain she will win and holds all of the cards in order to do so), in a battle of endurance. Anyway it's obvious in Sotsu that Satoko will lose by either giving up and relinquishing Rika's freedom, or some kind of "miracle" will occur that Bernkastel didn't elaborate on that will cause Satoko to embrace defeat. I am hoping for something bittersweet and tragic, opposed to the happy end we got in the original, to be the final note in the series. Though I guess now the original's end isn't actually the end anymore? ;-)
@@escapetherace1943 I was questionning myself on that exact dialogue just this night xD My point of view is that Satoko/LambdaDelta will won the contest in Sotsu (as the next Beatrice's line said : LD told her she had won) but will somehow take pity over Rika/Bernkastel and let her leave/live in some way (maybe) And as I told to a friend : Rika "remembered" being Bernkastel after her first loop ; while Satoko was still in her first loop during the entire time of Higurashi 1 and Kai. Satoko mearly starts to "remember" she is LambdaDelta in Gou because she finally enters her second loop thanks to Featherine. She don't want to admit it because LambdaDelta and Bernkastel where rival for a thousand years while Satoko and Rika was friends for a "passive" hundred years. She just hides this doubt behind the idea of retrieving her lost friendship with Rika while executing LD plans of destroying Bernkastel without realising it. Will Satoko realize she is LambdaDelta ? Will she face Bernkastel in Sotsu ? I hope will see this kinds of stuff soon ^^ EDIT : about the next thing that Beatrice said after what you write, I just realize you were talking about the anime, and I was talking about the VN, maybe you didn't hear from her that LD told her she won x)

Why the fuck did The youtube algorithm think it was good or appropriate to start playing Umineko's OST immediately after listening to the Transformers theme?
Yes, the house in fata morgana is the only story i keep above umineko in my rankings, its simply perfect, its a story about stories, highly recommended. In my honest opinion, the greatest piece of fiction ever written.
One of the key lessons I learnt from Umineko is of the criteria of a mystery being a mystery. Once magic is involved that can rec-con any logical inconsistencies, it is no longer a mystery. One good example of effective mystery in a 'fantasy' would be the Danganronpa series. Even when the world is ending, there is a consistency in the rules established that still make it a mystery. So when I was reading Fata Morgana and there's the fortune telling and monster and reincarnation aspect, as long as I remember- to make it a proper mystery, it requires a consistency of realism. And lemme tell you, Fata Morgana is an effective mystery.
the soundtrack is from Umineko no Naku Koro ni. If I may say something, I would advise not watching the anime first , since it only covers half the story and leaves out some important character development and clues. Either reading the visual novel or the manga is more advised (well, these are the only ways to actually finish the story)
The anime ruins the plot, makes half the stuff unsolvable, leaves out crucial details, only covers half the story, and cuts out most character development. Read the Visual Novel using ps3 sprites for the best experience.
