Agree 1000%!!! We connected to a lot of the story how she finally expressed to him how much he meant to her when he was sick and transforming, but he couldn’t communicate anymore! You could still see the hurt/joy in his face! Also how he wasn’t close to his dad and didn’t want to make the same mistakes! Now I’m a sneaker guy. My favorite sneaker is the black toe union jordan 1 A LOT of people think that sneaker is fire! So I think I know a little about what looks good… the look of the werewolves were fucking dope!!! In American werewolf in London I think the only time David looked creepy was in mid transformation when he was still a little human looking. That’s the look these werewolves had. Also when he had to fight his dad to protect his family was awesome!!! And his wife jumping in to protect her husband with no hesitation hit hard!!!

When I watched this movie I interpreted it as an allegory for mental illness and how it can be passed down from generation to generation, its implied that Blake's mom died and his dad was in an isolated depression and overly protective of Blake. When he grows up he is still struggling but does his best to raise Ginger how he wanted to be raised, he is still shown to have outbursts and is short to anger with her, its also said that Scarlett and blake haven't been happy for a while and blake has been out of work, I take this as depression. When his dad is pronounced dead it pushes him to be more present but also stirs up these old emotions that he has been hiding from his whole life. Once they get to the cabin the wound on his arm is a metaphor for the emotional wounds his father gave him, they try to patch the wound but it needs professional help, he tried to ignore his emotional wounds by starting a family but not getting professional help and both wounds fester and end up turning him into what he has never wanted to be, his father. My girlfriend and I can't stop talking and theorizing about this movie its seriously fantastic, its unfortunate some of the trailers weren't good at all they almost had us skip it entirely. The practical effects were perfect and the decent into lycanthropy when its shown through Blake's eyes was a real cool take

Thanks so much for watching and giving your insight! I didn’t look at the depression angle specifically but the generational trauma is definitely apparent. I’m glad you and your girlfriend enjoyed it! Hope you come back to the channel in the future.

I saw the movie the other night. I felt this was a mid movie. Nothing too bad, nothing blew me away either it was just fine. The visual was great, I wasn’t always convinced by the performances at times, and i feel like it needed more time to cook. Not the worst wolf man movie but not the best.
