- In 1991 a group of young men met by happenstance working the local carnivals together. They were Jimmie Penick, Mark Goodwin, brothers David and Keith Lawrence and William “Tony” Ault. Everyone but the latter boy already knew each other, they had long been interested in invoking the powers of satan and decided to start a cult together under the name, Satan’s Disciples. When William “Tony” Ault met them at the carnival he realized that they had some things in common and just really wanted to be part of their group. Unfortunately William would not make it through what his new friends called the “initiation process.” Instead they would torture and kill the 21 year old.

Hearing the description of workhouses makes me so sad, my family were in London for 7 generations until my grandparents moved. I know and have documentation that some of my great great great grandparents were in a workhouse for a time, it makes me so sad for them.
Absolutely love you guys. 😍
My 8 month old daughter also loves your intro. She always stops what she's doing and listens to your theme with a smile 🖤 thank you for making our days.
It's important to understand that British society believed that poor people were considered worthless because their poverty was their own fault for having an immoral lifestyle. The British Empire was the greatest, richest power on Earth in the 1880's, but there were no institutions in place to help the poor get employment, housing, or food or protect and support impoverished children. It's disgraceful.
MY FRIEND STARTED A CULT ON ACCIDENT WHEN SHE WAS 5. 😂😂 LOVE Y'ALL
ALSO, I AM 9! 9! AND I GOT TO THE BAD PART
Failure to state Charles "Cross" was really Charles Lechmere who was at the scene at least fifteen minutes before Paul came upon him is a huge swing and a miss
You know given what my name is I think this is a good first watch from you guys
Hi. Enjoyed this listen. Workhouses were such a terrible institution the fear of them is detectable to this day in the relatives of those that experienced them. I am unaware of any family that were in one, but my Mum, who is into her history, when talking of them, you can tell by her voice. She was born later, but you can detect the fear in her voice, presumably from the stories of her grandparents and other older family members for whom it was a real looming threat.
I really enjoyed the five thank you 😊 have recently been to Whitechapel and the Jack the Ripper museum
Can someone tell me where number four ofvthis series is im rewatching thisxbut there no number 4 im extremely sad since im liking these podcasts
Wait, what, I now have a 4th way to listen to you ladies.
@Ash & Elena: I've been listening to your podcast for a couple of years now. I recently had to migrate it over to YT Music from Google Podcasts. Starting today, none of the episodes will load and no one has been helpful in resolving this issue. I'm using the RSS feed as this podcast doesn't go back as far as I am currently in your episodes (still back in 2021, haha). Any advice?
Note: My other saved podcasts are currently working, so I had to resort to those today, haha.
Where can I find the book titles mentioned in this episode?
That's what I like to know
Where's the other channel? 😫 I'm so confused.
Down for a month
This channel changes like every few weeks so weird
