  • Aaron Kosminski is one of the more well known suspects in the Whitechapel murders. Some of the major police officials of the era, in fact, were seriously concerned about his potential involvement in the brutal Autumn of Terror slayings.
My guest, Robert House, has studied Aaron Kosminski for years, and shares details of his investigation with us. He is the author of "Jack the Ripper and the Case for Scotland Yard's Prime Suspect".

Just started. Knows I’ll enjoy this. Went out and bought Westcott’s books from these podcasts. Wonderfully researched history. A little dry reading in spots but real history often is dry.

Enjoyable and informative, thanks. Not quite finished yet but I wish the articles by George(?) Sims had been mentioned. I view him as a semi-official source on suspects.

I don't think he cut these women up with a view to taking certain organs from them like there liver or heart. I think he cut them up and he just took what he saw at that time in the dark. I don't think he had a certain plan to take certain organs. That's why i dont think he has to have medical knowledge.

Charles Lechmere more likely. Placed by someone else lingering alone and acting suspiciously right next to the body of one of the victims at or near the time of death. No other suspect has that against him.

@@lyndoncmp5751they said he gave his wrong address and name when in reality he just gave his name as Cross instead of Lechmere. Also they said when Lechmere and the other guy found the woman they couldnt see blood so im not surprised he said there is a woman lying (not saying dead). Also he gave a statement two days after the murder but his companion appeared weeks later. This guy had a bunch of children and a wife. He also didnt suffer from Syphilis. He was anything but Jack the Ripper. Sry for my english but this docu was made like all the other ones - clearly pinpointing to one suspect and including not verified Ripper victims like Martha Tabram just bc she fit into his way to work.
Most Likely Jack the Ripper is one of he Prime suspects or on the other hand someone that was never even suspected of them and whos name never appeared in any archives about the case

Charles Lechmere passed 29 Hanbury Street just before 4.00 am that morning, roughly the same time Annie Chapman was killed there a week later. The medical examiner said she was killed at least 2 hours before 6.30 am.
Charles Lechmere's most direct route to Pickfords was along Wentworth Street. Martha Tabram, if we include her as some Ripperologists now think is a possible, was killed just a few dozen yards off Wentworth Street and roughly the same time Lechmere would have been walking to work. The medical examiner said Tabram was killed up to 3.30 am.
You don't think it's suspicious that all three of these women were killed on either of Lechmere's two routes to work and at approximate times he would have been passing by?
Liz Stride was killed literally just around the corner from where his mother and daughter lived, and on a night he could well have visited them seeing as he didnt have to get up for work a few hours later.
Dennis Rader, Rex Heuermann and Gary Ridgway were all married men with children. They all killed more people than JTR did. Zero evidence JTR had syphilis.
No worries about your English. It's good. Cheers.

Aaron Kosminski may have been psichotic , but he had no anatomical knowledge . How could he have have performed murders that involved the removal of uteruses , kidneys , hearts , etc . Surelly the killer must have had some basic knowledge of human anatomy . How do you explain that ?

JTR was highly unlikely to be have been somebody so outwardly abnormal who needed to be placed in an asylum. That's what the police at the time assumed, but now we know serial killers tend to be outwardly normal, even respectable.

False. Kosminski was seen attacking Stride shortly before her death. In fact very shortly. And of course there is the inconvinent fact about his DNA being on the shawl in the Eddowes murder. More points towards Kosminski than Lechmere.@@lyndoncmp5751
