I don't need the rear of a FF to grip, the rear wheels don't do the steering or provide power, they are just there to prevent to exhaust dragging along the ground. Adding a rear wing provides drag which slows the car down and presses the rear of the car downwards which in effect lifts the front of the car which is undesirable as the front tyres provide both drive and grip. A front splitter yes. A rear wing? Highly questionable.
And as most hot hatches are so stiffly sprung at the rear to prevent understeer on corner entry that the inside rear tyre lifts from the road surface during extreme cornering, a phenomenon known as 'cocking a leg' in the UK, the addition of a rear wing is even more pointless in my opinion. So I eagerly await your explanation.
