Was fascinating learning about some of the preparation that goes into a hike like that. Many thanks, as always mate for stopping by. Take care buddy. Atb, J 👍

      @SandybackOutdoors  2 года назад

      Cheers Steve 👍. Yeah, there is another cave less than 50 yards to the right of where I camped looking out to the Hope Valley. I believe that is the real Robin Hoods cave. Gives me an excuse to go back again. Not that I need one, lol. Liked the look of the Igloo you showed in your latest video mate. Definitely worth a look too, as long as there's no panthers to share it with 😀.

    What a cracking location that was Mucker. Good reuse of the cook in the bag for breakfast. I don't think the Tarp would have been much use there with the hard rock surroundings. Was the rock pool water clean enough to filter or putrid? I had an inkling that someone else would turn up, but at least they didn't want to share you cave. 👍

    • @SandybackOutdoors
      @SandybackOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Hi Robert, thank you for watching and commenting my friend 🙏. Yeah, the tarp would have been pretty redundant on the balcony as it is only really big enough for only one person to get comfortable on there. The water in the cave was pretty minging and wouldn't have been a safe source to filter. Spotted a few mice running around, so I can imagine that there was all sorts in there. Take care mukka. Atb, J 👍

    I'd dare say I have that exact bivvy bag Jason, be going on 25 years old now. Amazing view and dwelling, I don't know your geography too well, is Sherwood Forest close to that region? is that why it's called Robin Hoods cave?. Looks like the Peak District is very baron, what happened to the trees or there was never any there?. Great footage and editing as always. Your work deserves a lot more subs and views mate. 100% better than most of the 1 million sub channels out there in bushcraft World. Cheers mate.

    • @SandybackOutdoors
      @SandybackOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Ah! Moose. Thank you so much brother, your way too kind 🙏. Where I started my hike was roughly 4 miles from the reported birthplace of the folklore legend, Robin Hood, which is in South Yorkshire, Sheffield. Hence the hideout in the caves. I should imagine that the veiw from the cave would have shown a lot more forestry, back then. Sherwood Forest is in Nottinghamshire, which is a good few miles away and I believe that is where he met Friar Tuck and commited his activities of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, as wealthy travellers made their journeys from North to South and visa versa through Britain. Many thanks again bud and hopefully I'll see you out again in another video sometime. Atvb, J 👍
