Yep, proving what a "classy, hardworking" player and leader he was by repeatedly cross-checking Lidstrom (of all people) in the back for no reason. Can't blame him for his psychotic hatred of the Red Wings I guess...they knocked him out of Winnipeg at the end of his rookie season and then knocked the Coyotes out of relevance two years in a row late in his career. I do appreciate his loyalty to his franchise, as sad as that franchise may have been for the most part, but he just acted too out of control on on the ice too often to be a true classy leader in my opinion...just like Iginla.
That Franzen injury early in game 2 was killer. He had 2 points in game 1...he only had 1 more point the rest of the playoffs and he missed 3 games. This is after having 3 straight years of at least 18 points in the playoffs
Such a shame when talking about what happened with Franzen. Apart from his tendencies to float around the ice, if he didn't have the injury history he has he would have been such a dominant player for a much longer stretch for the wings.
He had the best hands I've seen in a 'power' forward. Amazing shot and great skill - as much as I hated the contract extension once he was hurt....he really would have been a force for years to come... it's a shame for sure...
Wow I forgot how bad the officiating was against the wings in 2012 for both round 1 and 2. These refs are obviously favoring the coyotes and sharks. Just watch the penalties that are called. Never seen so many one sided calls in my life.
Loved seeing Rusty Salei (RIP) get that goal, Helm rattle Jovanovski repeatedly, and Doan lose like a petulant child. Really makes me miss Bert and Franzen. Solid work as always.
Hey I didn't even know that the coyotes made the playoffs in 2011 that a big surprise for me !!!! Cause I lived on the streets at that time !!!! I lived on the streets from 2001 until 2019 when I finally gotten arested for shooting heroine and I've been clean ever since then I just love watching hockey it's the best you know!!!!
That’s awesome to hear that you got clean man! Good for you! The Yotes had a few year stretch where they were “decent” around that time. The year before this they actually had home ice advantage against the wings and took the series to 7 games only to get obliterated in that one 😂
Detroit Red WIngs - 3 Washington Generals - 0 That was the line that made me realize I like Mike Emrick. I was choking back the laughter when he said it.
awood40, I like how you posted the Red Wings/Avalanche All Playoff Goals. Is there any way when you have time and get the chance, you can post all the Red Wings/Coyotes playoff goals from 1998, 2010, & 2011?
They met in the first round the year before this too and the yotes were actually the higher seed. Went to 7 games where the wings ended up winning 6-1 or something
Thank you for renewing my absolute disdain for Shane Doan.

#13 was a two way nightmare for Phoenix his whole career!
Same against Nashville

I can't stop laughing 😂 I almost missed it had to rewind a bit to make sure that's what he said 😂
I heard that too but I don't get it?
@@silverking8742 The Washington Generals were the team that were paid to play (and lose) to the Harlem Globetrotters
@@deBebbler oh ok lol
RIP Ruslan Salei, Brad McCrimmon and Ștefan Liv
That 5 on 3 gives me goosebumps

What's the game at the beginning where kronwall scores in overtime?
impressive work as always
Kyle Turris played for Phoenix? Never knew that
Phoenix finally plays Detroit in a playoffs steies but Detroit too tough for the coyotes

6 out of 7 games the next round were decided by one goal. 2 in overtime. Devin Setoguchi...
The lone two goal game of that series was an empty net goal by Helm.
Red Wings Knockout Coyotes
