      @JakefromEthnostatefarm no he's not useful at all. People assume he plays a defensive game, because he has literally no offense. Unfortunately he plays basically no defense either. He has no use. He's most effective when he's killing penalties and his job is basically to stand in the way. He honestly could get away without a stick for 90% of his ice time.

    Yes, faith in Yzerman is gone.. Look at what Nashville recruited players and what Yzerman did at the same time.. Nashville : Stamkos, JONATHAN MARCHESSAULT, RYAN O'REILLY. Yzerman acquisitions: Copp, Compher, Kane and DeBRINCAT.. Those acquisitions of Yzerman consume the salary cap 22,600,000 and Nashville: 18,000,000!
    So Nashville made much better player acquisitions than Yzerman and even cheaper.. Consider that Copp's salary is 5,625,000 per season and Jonathan Marchessault plays in Nashville with a salary of 5,500,000.. There is still a BIG quality difference in players in favor of Marchessault..

    Imo, its another vet signing that eats a roster spot. There was only one forward spot open, with Bergrenn being in the lineup. If ur going to take a spot away from a prospect, be something dynamic for the top 2 lines. Otherwise, its another vet signing that prevents growth in our prospects.

    • @ziaboi_6018
      @ziaboi_6018 20 дней назад +1

      Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s exactly why SY signed Motte: because he knows Bergren - and possibly another prospect or two - will be gone soon. I suspect Yzerman is laying the groundwork for an upcoming trade or two that will bring in at least one impact player. One or more of our prospects will have to be shipped out. Just a hunch.

      It's play money until season 26-27.
      If you look at where our contracts are currently set to expire, It's apparent that Yzerman is willing to wait until then to let this prospect pool mature.
      I don't expect to see many more contracts signed past that season; which is another reason it's hard to attract big FAs.
      I would personally rather a slower build if it means being competitive for longer.

      No he doesn't.. you just know what intangibles he provides.. if you knew more about your hockey you would know better.. Stevie is a very calculated man and Motte brings some more of an element of grit, energy and create turnovers.. some of the best players are the ones who don't get points if you do it well.. these players here are the type of players who are different makers in the playoffs.. did you get a key turnover that leads to a goal in a tie game vs teams like the Panthers Rangers and Hurricanes for example ..these are the ones that help extend get you to a game 6 or 7 along with the collective unit working as one ..

      @@TheFlizash 😂 yea, maybe a bit of a stretch.. however Tyler is a BEAST in his own right!.. he's the kinda guy I like to call a "playoff-type of player".. him and Gustafsson are built from the same cloth .. Christian Fisher is well.. these are guys who will likely get a nice hit that leads to a turnover, or out grind someone on the boards, manhandling them to take the puck away from them on their own setting up their teammates.. these are guys who in tie game or overtime.. be an unlikely source to score the game winner.. THESE are the type a player that once in the playoffs they are the ones that grind is out and help extend the series to a game 6 or 7 giving your star players the opportunity to hopefully get the game winning goal.. they do the dirty work but they're very notice and make a tremendous impact!!.. THESE players are players that bring intangibles that the Red Wings haven't had in years.. which is physicality and toughness that tells other teams that they're not going to be messed around with!.. if Red Wings fans knew exactly what they were getting with these guys, then they'll be raving about them as if they got Vladimir Tarasenko! They bring strong value to any team that they're on and their beloved everywhere they go.. Red Wings are going to love these guys!! I promise you that and mark my words!..
      In fact this is one of the first times I can say the Red Wings got true DAWGZ on the team.. and I haven't been able to say that about players on the wings in a long time..
